A car carrying firecrackers in its trunk caught fire at a busy intersection in Bukit Permata, Lumut on Friday (March 28) evening.

Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle had suffered mechanical damage prior to the fire.

00:30escalated into flames and further exacerbated by a series of firecracker explosions.
00:36Police said the driver had stored the firecrackers for Hari Raya in the vehicle's trunk.
00:41The local fire department responded promptly and successfully brought the fire under control.
00:46Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
