00:00Thank you so much Kenny, a battle in the NFC South. Bucs down three, first and goal. Sean Tucker bounces outside, goes in untouched for the score. Bucs back in front, 17-13 over the Panthers.
00:13Thanks Carissa, big battle in the NFC South. The winner of that game will move into first place. They will play each other again. Final weekend of the regular season, we will be in Miami for the Tampa Bay Bucs and the Dolphins. Good game next Sunday.
00:30First down and 20. Following the penalty, it's Jefferson. Spun down at the 49-yard line. Fifth catch today. Game of eight. Second down and 12.
00:49Speaking of 12, Vikings go to 12 personnel. Needs one running back, two tight ends, two wide receivers in the game. Aaron Jones stays in.
01:00Josh Oliver, TJ Hockinson, they're going to go to the same side. Bucs formation with Justin Jefferson.
01:06And it goes back to, again, making it easy for Max Brosman to declare what the defense is.
01:14Brosman, second and 12. Pass is caught. It's Oliver.
01:19Marked out of the 44.
01:27So it will be third down and six as we approach six minutes remaining.
01:31Third quarter from MetLife Stadium.
01:37Brosman, out of the bullpen, has completed his first four pass attempts.
01:43Jackson Dart, giant starter, just two for six.
01:47Yeah, it's not good at all.
01:49Call it, call it what it is. It's not good.
01:51He needs to do better.
01:53Offensive line, he needs to do better.
01:54They need to communicate better.
01:55He is in Jackson Dart, I'm referring to.
01:59And JJ McCarthy ruled out with a hand injury.
02:03Now Brosburr looking for Jalen Naylor.
02:05He needs to do better.
02:06He needs to do better.
02:06He needs to do better.
02:07Incomplete.
02:11Yeah, I like the play call.
02:13Execution wasn't there, but it goes back to not putting the ball in harm's way, not putting Max Brosman in harm's way.
02:20You throw that ball high and outside.
02:22Either you get the completion with Jalen Naylor or it goes incomplete, right?
02:26You're not throwing down the middle of the field where safeties can make plays on the football and, you know, make a bad play worse.
02:33So now the Vikings will punt for the first time today.
02:37Ryan Wright.
02:38Ryan Wright will boot him from his .45.
02:49Olszewski fills it up to 15, up the sideline.
02:53There is a flag out near midfield.
02:59It's against the Vikings.
03:08Illegal formation kicking team number 40 was not on the line of scrimmage.
03:20That five-yard penalty would be added on to the end of the return.
03:23First down, New York.
03:25Timeout.
03:26Jackson Dart and the Giants take over.
03:29Trailing by three.
03:34This jolly old fella goes by the name Chris.
03:37Just has not been there.
03:38He's looked uncomfortable all game long.
03:41He's been scrambling for his life.
03:43And then when he does have these opportunities, you have the offensive guys not helping him out.
03:47And that's the interception.
03:49Byron Murphy gets that set up a touchdown.
03:51So you look at this offense.
03:52They're young.
03:54Jackson Dart is young.
03:55They're going through these growing pains because right now he looks flustered.
03:59The offense doesn't look good.
04:01They're not communicating well.
04:02He's taken three sacks today.
04:04Jackson Dart is having a rough outing so far.
04:06On first down, Dart handing it off.
04:15And it's taken out to the 33-yard line by Singletary.
04:23Jackson Dart's quote about Brian Flores and his defense.
04:26Just chaos, right?
04:27Just chaos trying to disguise different looks.
04:29But they're organized in the back end, too.
04:31So they do it soundly.
04:33And that's the key.
04:34They do it soundly.
04:35It's not like they're just out there running around.
04:37They are fundamentally sound.
04:39They use technique.
04:40They hit their landmarks.
04:41That's what makes it so frustrating for this offense.
04:43On second and two, Singletary picks up a Giants first down out to the 38-yard line.
04:51And we've talked about what Flores has been able to do against rookie quarterbacks throughout
04:58his career as a coordinator and head coach.
05:01And the rookie quarterbacks in their defense.
05:04He's done this against veterans, too.
05:05He's made veterans look silly.
05:07Remember, we called a couple of his games, particularly when he was with the Dolphins.
05:11Jared Goff, remember calling that one?
05:14Man, he had Jared Goff completely out of sorts in that game.
05:18Rams game down in Miami.
05:21There's Singletary once again.
05:25Not much.
05:27Just over four minutes remaining.
05:28Third quarter Giants with a defensive touchdown.
05:33In the final minute of the second quarter.
05:36To make it a three-point game.
05:41There's Mike Kafka trying to find a play.
05:43Trying to find something, some spark, to give his quarterbacks some comfort.
05:57Second and ten.
05:59Passes complete out of the backfield.
06:02Singletary, but Isaiah Rogers right there.
06:06And to wrap him up, he loses yardage on the play.
06:09Right, and you see what I mean by being sound defensively.
06:12This is your corner out there.
06:14You have your safety that's going to help him out.
06:16And you already see Blake Cashman is pointing out that way.
06:19They know where the ball is going.
06:21Isaiah Rogers leverages it beautifully, knowing that the rest of his team is inside.
06:26So he stays outside in.
06:28Tyrone Tracy has no chance of getting there.
06:30The rest of the defense rallies to make the tackle.
06:32That's beautiful defense.
06:36Lost with two on the play.
06:37Over the third completion for Dart, and it's a negative play.
06:42Play clock winding down.
06:50First start.
06:51Office number 72.
06:53Five-yard finish.
06:54We're down.
06:55That's the right tackle.
06:56Jermaine Illuminor.
06:57So you have the play clock approaching zero.
07:03Illuminor moved.
07:05All negative yardage on the prior play.
07:07All bad.
07:08Kenneth Gary Albert, all bad.
07:12You know you're playing good defense on the road, but we can hear literally everything
07:16being set down there because the crowd is so quiet.
07:23They're down at 16 for Dart and the Giants.
07:29Dart fires.
07:30And the catch is made by Robinson.
07:34It's two yards shy of the first down.
07:38Gain of 14.
07:39Yeah, don't see the punt team coming out.
07:42Looks like Kafka wants to go for it or at least try and draw the Vikings defense offside.
07:46We'll see what happens.
07:47But I like if he does go for it, I do like it.
07:49You've got to be aggressive.
07:51You have nothing to lose, and you might as well get some more reps, get your quarterback
07:54going, see if he can get into a rhythm.
07:57So the Giants leave the offense out of the field.
07:59Fourth down in two.
08:00They go for it.
08:02And they convert.
08:04Darius Slayton makes the catch in Vikings territory.
08:07I like it.
08:08It was a first completion that Jackson Dart had of any meaning and significance to Wondell Robinson.
08:14It gets him into a fourth and short.
08:15And then you like that Darius Slayton, the wily veteran, sits in the pocket, sits in the
08:20zone, helps out his quarterback.
08:23Jackson Dart scanning, scanning.
08:24Oh, I see him open.
08:25Bam.
08:26There we go.
08:27Gets the first down for the Giants offense.
08:30Sit down.
08:32Stop.
08:33All right, that's what you're taking.
08:35Watch it, watch it.
08:37Green, that's your set.
08:38From the Minnesota, 46.
08:42Up the middle.
08:43Get a four for Singletary.
08:47Take a look back a couple plays ago, Jackson Dart.
08:51A little insult to injury.
08:53He's like, man, I'm getting beat up everywhere and I lose my chain.
08:56You know, you lose your chain, it's over with, Kenny.
08:58You know, it's just all bad from there.
09:00Kind of like when I took your chain up here in the booth and you were just never the same.
09:04No, I'll never forget that moment.
09:06Do you even have a chain, Kenny?
09:08No, you took it.
09:11Good one.
09:14Second down and six.
09:15Final minute, third quarter.
09:17Green, that's your set.
09:19Fake to Singletary.
09:21Dart wrapped up.
09:23Down he goes.
09:24That's the fourth sack for this Vikings defense and Allen gets up to celebrate.
09:33Yeah, Elijah Williams, Jonathan Allen, big guys right in the middle.
09:40They're all up there.
09:41You have five defensive linemen.
09:43So that's what happens when you try to change personnel.
09:46If you're going to go pass against these five defensive linemen, they're all going to be one-on-one versus your offensive line.
09:55Let's see who's down on the knee right now.
09:57That's the center, John Michael Schmitz.
10:01Giants are ready without their left tackle and left guard.
10:09And now Schmitz, shake it up.
10:11That will take us to the end of the third quarter.
10:19That was Austin Schlotman, the former Viking, practicing his snaps as we head to the fourth with Minnesota leading by three.
10:30At Burger King, you write the rules of value.
10:33You roll number ten.
10:34I mix and match my way.
10:35There's seven tasty items, and I can get two for five or three for seven.
10:39That's all up to me.
10:40Ain't the $5 duo or $7 trio.
10:42From Burger King classics to fan fames, choose your duo.
10:46Texas is hockey flair, so no.
10:49That's my long-winded answer.
10:51No, I'm not ready.
10:52We'll get you out there one of these days.
10:53If I'm out there, then I catch you on the beach jet skiing.
10:56How about that?
10:57Fair trade.
10:57Okay.
10:58Fair enough.
10:59No scoring in the third quarter.
11:02Vikings lead by three.
11:05Third down to 12 for the Giants with Schlotman now in and center.
11:10So it's the backups at left tackle, left guard, and center for the New York Giants.
11:17Here's Dart.
11:19Up for a down hit.
11:20Down he goes, but a flag is thrown.
11:24Eric Wilson coming through, but he will be penalized.
11:30Personal foul, rough in the past, so defense number 55.
11:3815-yard penalty from the previous spot with an automatic close down.
11:42Yeah, so Eric Wilson's going to be coming in from here, but you're going to watch the secondary,
11:46and they double everybody.
11:48So freeze it.
11:48Everyone is covering.
11:49That's why Jackson Dart has nowhere to go with the football.
11:52Look at these guys.
11:53There's nowhere to go.
11:53He's trying to find him by time.
11:55Can't do it.
11:56And then gets bailed out because Eric Wilson hits him in the helmet.
12:00If it wasn't for that, it would have been another sack for this Vikings defense.
12:04And you see the frustration.
12:06I know he bent down, and you hit him in the head.
12:08It's the letter of the law.
12:09You've got to protect these quarterbacks, especially a guy like Jackson Dart.
12:13He's had multiple concussions, so I get it.
12:15Good defense, but you've got to get a little lower with your aiming point.
12:18Second time Dart has been hit in the helmet today.
12:21Harrison Smith in the first half.
12:23And now Wilson.
12:26Singletary takes it inside the 30, down to the 28.
12:31Remember, Dart removed for a short time last week.
12:35He had to go into the blue tent.
12:36And then the last half of the road remains out on the field here.
12:39Giants facing a second down at five.
12:42And see them trying to go quickly.
12:44They've got the right personnel that they want to try and run the football.
12:47We're going to go. We're going to go.
12:49And see, they want to move.
12:51Greenwiches.
12:54Hand-off Singletary.
12:58And Singletary, with a good second effort, his nickname is Motor.
13:02и, наиболее
13:32Субтитры сделал DimaTorzok
14:02в Казахстане.
14:04They have some really good young
14:06skilled talent.
14:08Holding office number sixty-four
14:11ten yard penalty second down.
14:13So when you look at the team you
14:16say well it's not going to be a
14:18talent issue when everyone's
14:19healthy.
14:20It's going to be a culture issue
14:21because these are young guys
14:22trying to find their way through
14:23the NFL.
14:24You need some veterans to lead the
14:26way.
14:27Veterans that have had success.
14:28Kafka's had a ton of success his
14:30time in Kansas City.
14:31He knows what it takes to
14:32practice.
14:33He knows what it takes to win.
14:34But now you've got to bring it
14:35all together whether it's him or
14:37another coach coming in.
14:38They're going to have to create
14:39this culture around these young
14:40guys.
14:41Second down at sixteen.
14:51This is Tracy.
14:52Day to four.
14:58So a third down and twelve coming
15:00up.
15:01Giants will have a high pick in the
15:05upcoming draft.
15:07Next week they will take on the
15:10Raiders out in Las Vegas.
15:12Giants.
15:13Giants haven't had the first overall
15:14pick since nineteen sixty five
15:17selected Tucker Fredrickson.
15:19If you go into your draft and you're
15:22looking and saying get some more
15:23talent.
15:24Stockpile the talent.
15:25You got a really good running
15:26back.
15:27Young quarterback.
15:28Really good receiver.
15:29You got a young tight end.
15:30You got a young tight end.
15:31Let's get more.
15:37Fourteen.
15:38White Cashman.
15:39Comes up to make the play.
15:44And the Giants send out their
15:47rookie kicker Ben Sahls.
15:49Isn't it interesting.
15:50It feels like the Vikings are up
15:52two scores three scores.
15:54But with this kick it would be a
15:56tie game.
15:57Yet the crowd is so quiet.
15:59The Vikings defense has taken this
16:01crowd completely out of it.
16:02Thank goodness for Brian Burns.
16:04Tyler Newbin.
16:05They had that sack forced fumble
16:07and then he picks it up for a
16:08touchdown.
16:09Other than that it has been all
16:10Vikings all day.
16:11Soles hit from twenty seven
16:13earlier.
16:15This time from forty nine yards
16:17out.
16:19And Soles is two for two.
16:25Well it might feel like that
16:26but the Giants have tied the game.
16:28That's right.
16:29Thirteen a piece.
16:36For our nation's aging and disabled

16:57Back to a tie game.
16:58J.J. McCarthy's out.
17:00See what Kevin O'Connell dials up for
17:02Max Brosmer.
17:03Just saw the Giants D.J. Davidson
17:17heading up the tunnel.
17:19Back up defensive lineman.
17:21Then Soles couple of field goals in his NFL
17:26debut.
17:27Here's Price from the two.
17:36Price had a terrific season.
17:40Flag is thrown.
17:41Flag is thrown.
17:48And now some.
17:49Another flatter along the Giants
17:52sideline.
17:53So definitely fouls during the play.
18:08Didn't it look like extracurricular
18:09after the play.
18:10Alex Moore huddling up with his crew.
18:34They continue to discuss things.
18:36The one flag during the run back and
18:38then another one at the end of the play.
18:43As they try to get it all sorted out.
18:45But you at least see a little life on
18:47that Giants sideline right after the
18:49kickoff.
18:51These guys had a little life there a
18:52little extracurricular but you can
18:54appreciate them at least having
18:55some energy because they were flat.
18:58It looked like it was going to be
19:00all Vikings so you like that that
19:04energy is coming back at least a
19:05little bit for the Giants while the
19:07officials still try to figure it out.
19:16Still no announcement from Alex
19:17Moore.
19:19Did signal one penalty against each
19:21team.
19:22There are two fouls one against each
19:23team.
19:24During the return holding number zero
19:26of the receiving team.
19:28Personal foul necessary roughness.
19:31Kicking team number twenty three.
19:33By rule those fouls will offset with
19:35the ball being placed at the end of
19:37the run.
19:38First down.
19:40After all that offsetting penalties.
19:43And now the Vikings will take over
19:45in a tie game.
19:49In this series Brian Burns at Bill
19:50Carter they're not starting this series.
19:55They go on the usual rotation so
19:57they're going to be out right now.
19:58Dexter Lawrence.
20:00He's also not in there.
20:01So you've got Elijah Chapman in
20:02there.
20:03Roy Robertson Harris.
20:04Let's see what Max Brozmer does.
20:06And Kevin O'Connor looking at this
20:07defensive front with their starters
20:09not in right now.
20:10Get.
20:11Hey Ringo five three.
20:15Let's go.
20:16Lodging start from the thirty one.
20:18Grosper hands it off.
20:19This is Jones.
20:21Day of two.
20:23And some more great football coming
20:25your way in the Trust & Will Holiday
20:27Bowl.
20:36Arizona and SMU.
20:37San Diego is a beautiful city that time of year, January 2nd, it's going to be like a nice 70 degrees, can't beat that.
20:56Addison in motion, second down and eight, as Posner is taken down, Abdul Carter now has a sack in three consecutive games.
21:06Yeah, now, Abdul Carter, he's going against Michael Juergens, and he's going right up the gut, and this is what you see Micah Parsons do, and this is why they drafted him so high.
21:15He goes, and that spin move, that's lethal. Wow, that was so quick, Abdul Carter getting the sack.
21:21Now, bad news for the Giants, Brian Burns is down.
21:25Oh, he's back up, though. He's back up. Good to see. Burns walking off the field. We'll be back.
21:36Under Brian Debo, Daniel Jones with a breakout game, Giants with a road win in Minneapolis over Kevin O'Connell and the Vikings.
21:52But a much different story for both teams this season.
21:56Tie game.
21:58Brian Burns injured on that last play.
22:01Third and forever for the Vikings.
22:05Now, they're getting a taste of their own medicine.
22:08You see the Giants defense line up up front, just like we would see from the Flores-led defense of the Vikings.
22:13Vikings have won the last five in the regular season against the Giants.
22:18Brosbert on third down.
22:20Jefferson diving catch along the sideline.
22:24And they say he got both feet down inbounds for a Minnesota first down at a gain of 22.
22:30What a catch.
22:30Now, let's see if he actually maintained possession.
22:33He's dragging that left foot for sure.
22:36That's a completion.
22:37That is beautiful.
22:39Justin Jefferson has had two very nice completions today.
22:43And he now has more catches over his first six seasons than any other player in the history of the National Football League.
22:51One of the best.
22:54CJ Hamm.
22:55His first carry today.
22:58One of the best.
22:59Justin Jefferson.
22:59And we've called so many of his games.
23:01The last three games.
23:02Eighteen targets.
23:04Six catches.
23:05Today, he's got six catches.
23:08And you know what I like about him.
23:09He's won really tough.
23:11But I like that.
23:11He doesn't go out and complain.
23:13He's not bashing J.J. McCarthy.
23:15He's not bashing anybody.
23:17He goes.
23:17He runs his routes.
23:18He gets what he needs to do.
23:19He blocks when he's supposed to.
23:21Man, you can appreciate a guy like Kim with the talent he has that's not a little prima donna.
23:26Second down and seven.
23:28There's Jones.
23:30He's brought down at midfield.
23:32There is a flag.
23:33Karaké made the stop.
23:39Holding.
23:40Defense number 97.
23:42Five-yard penalty.
23:42Adelman to the end of the run.
23:44Automatic first down.
23:45Let's head downstairs.
23:48Megan.
23:49Thank you so much, Kenny.
23:50Well, as you're talking about biking superstar receiver Justin Jefferson, earlier this week,
23:54he headed over to the M Health Fairview Pediatric Center, where the young patients put on a fashion show for him.
24:00Justin loved every second of the kids' walk and creativity.
24:04They showed off their outfits and their own personal flair.
24:07Throughout the event, Justin spent some time with the kids and their parents.
24:10He danced, hit the gritty, of course, and spread some holiday joy to kids battling life's toughest tests.
24:15Justin said it meant everything to let those kids have a moment they'll never forget.
24:18Yeah, that is awesome.
24:20Thanks, Megan.
24:21Great stuff from Jefferson.
24:22I'm saying those bros were throws it away in the vicinity of Oliver.
24:28That's just awesome.
24:29I mean, seeing the little kid go down doing the gritty, that was pretty cool.
24:34You can just appreciate a guy like Justin Jefferson because people get it confused sometimes when a competitor is frustrated.
24:40It's because he wants to be able to help the team win.
24:43It's not, oh, I'm crying about not getting the football or anything like that.
24:46There's a big difference between the two.
24:48I would love to play with Justin Jefferson and have him on my team because you know he's going to compete.
24:53You know he wants the ball because he's going to help the team win.
24:56Just think of the touches he's had today, the individual efforts to get first downs, beautiful catches, man.
25:02He's a great player.
25:03Really love watching him.
25:04Come on!
25:07Movement prior to the snap, more flags.
25:09That's Dexter Lawrence and Justin Jefferson's day.
25:26It started with him on this third down.
25:28The individual effort makes a guy miss.
25:30Uses that speed and length to get out there and get a first down.
25:33Same thing here.
25:34He gets a ball on the wide receiver screen.
25:36All Justin Jefferson breaking tackles, dragging defenders, and then he's done this for six years now.
25:42You see how well he can catch the ball, the awareness to drag the football, to drag his feet, the body control when he catches the football.
25:50I mean, it's as good as it gets, right?
25:51Maybe Jamar Chase is a little better, but other than that, man, he's at the top of the list as far as best wide receivers.
25:57Ryan Burns back on the field.
26:01That's good news for the New York Giants as the Vikings now face a third down and one.
26:08Also, Aaron Jones is back in for the Vikings.
26:10I saw him limp off a little bit.
26:12He's back in there as well for the Vikings on the offense.
26:15So you got Burns back defensively, Aaron Jones back offensively.
26:19And, you know, these third and shorts, it's been all run for the Vikings.
26:23Let's see if they're going to continue with the same.
26:24They pump the play clock back up.
26:41Just under eight minutes remaining of the fourth.
26:44Kevin O'Connell's Vikings tied at 13.
26:47They had a 13-3 lead late in the second quarter.
26:51The Giants have scored 10 consecutive points on the toss.
26:57It is Jones.
26:58And Aaron Jones has a Vikings first down to the Giants' 30-yard line.
27:04Think about Jones and his toughness, right?
27:06You can tell he is visibly limping as he has his toss play gets to the outside.
27:12But you can tell he doesn't have the burners on him because of that ankle injury.
27:16So you got to appreciate his toughness and his grit to keep going out there.
27:20He has no reason to keep going out there and playing as hard as he's playing.
27:24Yet he still does it.
27:25He gets a first down for the Vikings.
27:27The longtime Green Bay Packer.
27:30Fourth time, 1,000-yard rusher.
27:32Vikings lost Jordan Mason early in this game.
27:34From the Giants' 30, it's Jones once again.
27:42Cuts back the other way.
27:44And is brought down by Roy Robertson-Harris after a game of three.
27:51Yeah, and this game has really slowed down.
27:53It is a tie game.
27:54It doesn't feel that way because there's really no sense of urgency one way or another.
27:58It's like both teams are kind of content to be tied right now, right?
28:03And it's really because of the injuries, right?
28:05J.J.'s not in there.
28:06Jordan Mason you talked about.
28:08Aaron Jones is now limping off to the sideline, right?
28:11He's done as much as he can on that bad ankle.
28:13So you're looking at two hobbled teams that are really trying to figure out how they can execute
28:18and get to the win at the end of this game.
28:20Both teams besting multiple offensive linemen.
28:23Second down at seven.
28:25Groseman sets up the screen.
28:27And Xavier Scott is inside the 20.
28:32That's another Vikings first down.
28:36That's a nice play against Dexter Lawrence.
28:37Dexter Lawrence is going to come around.
28:39He thinks he's going to get a sack on Max Brosmer.
28:41Instead, they're setting up the screenplay.
28:44They let him go.
28:45They pass it right where he was.
28:47And Xavier does the rest to get.
28:49There we go.
28:50Got a first down.
28:51Xavier Scott.
28:52Nice job.
28:53Xavier Scott will play collegiately at Connecticut and Maine.
28:57Meanwhile, the Giants are all out of sorts on their personnel.
29:04Go, go, go.
29:08And there goes a timeout.
29:11Some confusion.
29:12And the Giants use a timeout.
29:14With 540 remaining in the fourth quarter in a tie game.
29:23Have you heard the story?
29:25That's about the Colts try to keep their playoff hopes alive against the division-loving Jaguars,
29:29plus other regional action that in America's Game of the Week.
29:33Eagles and the Bills.
29:35Check local listings for the games in your area.
29:38Sunday on Fox.
29:40Already a wild.
29:42Week 16.
29:44How about the Seahawks?
29:45Overtime went over the Rams on Thursday.
29:47And then the Eagles and Bears with victories yesterday.
29:51Look at the Bears the way they came back down 16-6 late in the fourth quarter.
29:58Still found a way to win that game.
29:59A little alert.
30:00A little alert.
30:01A little alert.
30:01Can't, can't, can't, can't.
30:02Can't, can't, can't.
30:04This game tied at 13.
30:05There goes it.
30:08Roseburg handing it off to Jones.
30:11Now, Aaron Jones takes it to the 17-yard line.
30:17Good of two.
30:18Second down and eight.
30:19He's drawn this late.
30:21J.J. McCarthy injured his hand late in the second quarter.
30:26Tyler Newbin with a defensive touchdown for the Giants after a sack by Burns.
30:32Newbin scooped it up, took it 27 yards.
30:35Giants with a field goal here in the fourth quarter to tie the game.
30:38Get it, get it, get it.
30:39On 80.
30:41Watch it, hot.
30:43Can, can, can.
30:44Come on.
30:44Can, can.
30:46They're about to.
30:47Second and eight.
30:49It's Jones up the middle.
30:58You have a player down.
31:01For the Giants, they immediately called for the training set.
31:04Looks like that's Tyler Newbin.
31:10Newbin who has the Giants touchdown today.
31:12Yeah.
31:16You all tucked in?
31:17Yeah.
31:18Okay.
31:18In the great green room, there was a tie.
31:22Out of playoff contention, but continue to battle hard.
31:25That's what you want to see, right?
31:26That's the culture that you're building.
31:28And I referenced 2022.
31:29Detroit Lions, they had no business anywhere in the playoffs.
31:33Yet they kept winning and winning and winning.
31:35Two years later, they win their division, right?
31:37So this is what the Vikings are looking for.
31:40Kevin O'Connell referenced it.
31:42Mike Kafka, I know he's the interim.
31:44He's vying to be the permanent head coach.
31:46So they're looking for these guys to play hard.
31:48Who can they build a culture around?
31:50If they can build a culture around some of their best players,
31:53you're going to see them fighting for a playoff spot pretty soon.
31:55TD, TD.
31:57Vikings were there last season after winning 14 games.
32:01Third down and three for Brosburg.
32:06And the Vikings pass caught by Jones, but a nice tackle.
32:10O'Karake stops him short.
32:13Very nice tackle.
32:14Bobby O'Karake, captain on the defense.
32:17He and Brian Burns have been the leaders on that defense.
32:20And talk about a nice individual tackle on Aaron Jones,
32:24who is not an easy out when he's in the open field.
32:28They actually like that matchup of Jones on any linebacker.
32:31And that time, Bobby O'Karake making a very nice tackle,
32:34holding them now to a field goal attempt.
32:37It's Will Reichert.
32:42From the left hash.
32:45From 30 yards out.
32:47Gives the Vikings a three-point lead.
32:49With 4.15 remaining here at MetLife.
32:58We've been talking about Dart and McCarthy all day.
33:06Jackson Dart and the Giants now trailing by three.
33:09You used to chase young quarterbacks for a living.
33:11Now you get to watch them up in the broadcast booth.
33:13I get to watch them, dissect them,
33:15and I'll tell you the one I'm really liking right now is Caleb Williams.
33:18We saw a lot of Caleb his rookie year.
33:21Now he's with Ben Johnson, the head coach.
33:23The way that he's been able to understand finally that he does not have to play hero ball.
33:29That's what Ben Johnson called it.
33:30He can rely on a defense that takes the ball away.
33:32He has a run game.
33:34And then when it's time for him to be a magician, like he did yesterday,
33:36he can go out there and do that with the athleticism and his big right arm.
33:40So I'm really excited about Caleb Williams.
33:42Really excited about Drake May.
33:44It's a good group of young quarterbacks that we have in the NFL.
33:47When they get the right coaching, they start to see the game slow down.
33:51All of a sudden, we're going to be talking about them the way we talked about
33:53the Phillip Rivers of the world back in their prime.
33:56Bo Nix playing for your former head coach, Sean Payton, in Denver.
33:59Yes, and Bo Nix and Sean Payton.
34:01What I like is they're both very, very competitive guys.
34:05And so you watch Bo Nix go with Sean Payton.
34:08They go back and forth, right?
34:10One thing they don't do is let it carry over after the game.
34:13So they get everything corrected.
34:15They do what they need to do.
34:16They figure out how to win.
34:17By the way, they're on like an 11-game win streak.
34:19And so they get the job done.
34:21So you like the fiery, competitive nature of Bo Nix.
34:24That translates to the rest of the team.
34:28Look at what some of those quarterbacks have done this season.
34:31Yes, the Broncos at 12-2.
34:33And you think back to that game, the Giants had a big lead on Denver.
34:36Was it 28-6 at one point, right?
34:39Yeah, that was back in October.
34:40Yes.
34:40Giants had just beaten the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles
34:43in their previous game.
34:45They had a big fourth-quarter lead in Denver.
34:49Lost that game in about one since.
34:51And Bo Nix, he led that comeback.
34:54Defense led the comeback as well.
34:56I mean, you got to give credit to Denver and what they've done.
34:59They've been down in games.
35:01I remember watching.
35:01They were just down, what, 9, 10 points to Green Bay Packers.
35:04Found a way to win that game as well.
35:06So when you look at some of these quarterbacks, these young guys,
35:09they are being tested.
35:11Bo Nix has been tested.
35:12And he's been getting the job done.
35:1412th man on the field once again for the Vikings.
35:17Ryan Wright, the holder.
35:19Now he will head off to the sideline as Banks takes the kickoff at the 5.
35:26Deontay Banks forced out of bounds shy of the 35.
35:31Speaking of young quarterbacks, Mike Kafka was once a young quarterback in 2015
35:36with the Minnesota Vikings in the Hall of Fame game.
35:39Touchdown pass to Michael Pruitt.
35:41Who, over the last month, actually had a tryout with the Giants.
35:49And Mike Kafka reintroduced himself.
35:50That's right.
35:51Mike Kafka remembered that one clear as day.
35:54First thing he told Michael Pruitt was about that touchdown throw and catch.
35:58He said, Michael had no idea what I was talking about.
36:01Just nodded nicely, you know.
36:03See, I was so excited about it.
36:06Here's Tyrone Tracy on first down.
36:08You know, we've been talking about Kafka, Kevin O'Connell.
36:10Well, similar paths.
36:11They were both backup quarterbacks in the league.
36:13They were around great head coaches.
36:16Mike Kafka played for Andy Reid, coached under Andy Reid.
36:19Kafka and O'Connell both spent some time in New England as players.
36:24In fact, when Kafka signed with the Patriots, he had never met or spoken to O'Connell prior to that.
36:28And Kevin O'Connell called him on the phone to give him some advice on playing for Bill Belichick.
36:32Yeah, that's the type of guy Kevin O'Connell is.
36:34Felt like it was his responsibility to go there and help him out.
36:38Wanted to bring him into this fraternity of coaches.
36:40Suck it down at nine.
36:43It is dropped.
36:45Wow.
36:46Well, we've seen that before, including last week.
36:48Just last week.
36:49That's right.
36:50Just last week, we saw Darryl Slayton the exact same thing.
36:53And that's why the fans are booing.
36:55It's unfortunately one of the things that he has been doing and he's going to be known for, right?
36:59He's got great speed.
37:00He knows where to sit and hold the zones.
37:02But you've got to help your young quarterback out.
37:04Wow, that is on the money.
37:06As much as I talked about Jackson Dart, how confused he is today,
37:10he threw that on the money, knew exactly where he wanted to go with the football.
37:14It was a beautiful ball to Darryl Slayton.
37:16And, yes, we're equally frustrated, equally shocked that he dropped that football.
37:27Third down at nine.
37:29Dropped up.
37:30Pumped fake.
37:31There is a flag.
37:32Pass was intended for Waddell Robinson.
37:37It's against the Vikings.
37:40It's going to be.
37:40Part of the pass.
37:41Illegal contact.
37:42Defense.
37:42Number seven.
37:43It's a five-yard penalty.
37:45It's an automatic first down.
37:46That's on Byron Murphy.
37:47Yeah, we can see this one coming.
37:48Byron Murphy is going to be inside.
37:50He's going against Waddell Robinson.
37:52And that is his nickel spot, nickel responsibility.
37:55Byron Murphy has been a lot more physical ever since Brian Flores came in.
37:59And because of that physicality, he earned a Pro Bowl spot last year.
38:03That time, though, he got caught.
38:05You cannot make contact after five yards.
38:07Murphy had an interception earlier in this game.
38:13This set of downs for Dart and the Giants.
38:183-20 to go.
38:21On the toss, it's Tracy.
38:22There to five.
38:27Blake Cashman, the tackle out to the 45-yard line.
38:31And now he started approaching this four-down territory.
38:35Not really because of where you're on the field, more because of the time on the clock.
38:38There's only three minutes left.
38:40You have two timeouts if you're the Giants.
38:42But right now, it's like, hey, we haven't done much all game long, right?
38:46The only touchdown came from our defense.
38:48Great interception.
38:50Second at five.
38:52Tracy again.
38:54Yeah, so this is why you're seeing this very conservative play calling of Mike Kafka
38:58continuing to run the football because right now it looks like on third down,
39:03they're more than likely go for it on fourth down if they don't convert this one.
39:07If they don't, they'll have those two timeouts.
39:10You hopefully hold Minnesota to a field goal attempt at that point,
39:13and then now you're looking to take the ball and try to drive for a touchdown to win the game.
39:17There's Ben Sauls, the Giants' new kicker in his first NFL game.
39:21That's connected twice on field goals so far today.
39:26He's looking to get into field goal range for Sauls.
39:30Or reach the end zone.
39:32Throw down at three.
39:34Pass was deflected.
39:37And it's incomplete.
39:39That's Jalen Redman.
39:41He's been having himself a nice game.
39:44He's been really getting after the quarterback.
39:45That time, he knew he couldn't get there, so he just kind of spies him,
39:50waits for him to throw the football, jumps up, and bats it down.
39:52And fourth down, as I mentioned, they're going to go for it on this fourth and three.
39:57If they do not convert, fighters will get the ball back.
40:01After two-minute warning, Giants do have the two timeouts.
40:04There's Dart on fourth down, looking.
40:17Van Ginko wraps him up, throws him down.
40:20But Jackson Dart had no chance.
40:30Van Ginko coming off the edge.
40:32He was trying to be blocked by Theo Johnson.
40:35No chance for Jackson Dart.
40:36Van Ginko gets the sack for the Vikings defense.
40:39Style or substance.
40:50Somehow, it became one or the other.
40:55But there is another choice.
40:57Not stopping until you have everything in the GMC Sierra.
41:04During the GMC Holiday Event, get a total value of over $11,700 on this Sierra 1500 model
41:09when you trade in an eligible vehicle.
41:11That's 20% below MSRB.
41:13Everyone drop out.
41:17This is essentially cover two.
41:18It looks like cover zero.
41:20But Harrison Smith gets back.
41:21It's cover two.
41:22And now, all of a sudden, Jackson Dart has to stop and reprocess what it is.
41:26And when he tries to do that, you have the rush coming.
41:29Andrew Van Ginko gets out there.
41:31Dallas Turner gets in there.
41:32And all of a sudden, it becomes a sack.
41:35As soon as Jackson Dart tried to figure out what it was, it was too late.
41:38It's happened all game long.
41:40Brian Flores, that defense, they're all in lock sync.
41:43On how they're supposed to disguise and then get after the quarterback.
41:47Five sacks today for the Minnesota Vikings defense.
41:51Can't, can't, can't, can't, can't, can't, can't, can't.
41:54Let's go, let's go, let's go.
41:55Vikings offense takes over at the Giants' 39.
41:59Here's Jones.
42:00Giants have two timeouts.
42:04Jones tackled by Lawrence.
42:05And now the Giants will use their second timeout.
42:11Now this from State Farm.
42:13Having insurance isn't the same as having State Farm.
42:18It's like needing the leadership of this captain.
42:21But getting that captain.
42:22Eyes by motion on the port side.
42:28Erg, erg, missed again.
42:31Imagine, yeah.
42:33What are we doing?
42:34So don't settle for just any insurance.
42:36When there's State Farm.
42:37Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
42:40Oh, squirrels are coming!
42:45Aiden Hutchinson on the Lions getting set to host the Steelers.
42:49Huge game for both clubs.
42:52State Farm postgame is coming up by Kafka's Giants.
42:56Down to one timeout.
43:00Trailing the Vikings by three.
43:08Rosemar hands it off.
43:09It's Jones.
43:10To the Giants, 37.
43:20Giants use the final timeout.
43:23Jones shaken up a bit.
43:26Jones still massaging and babying the upper leg area, ankle area.
43:36I mean, he's taken a beating today.
43:40That's off to him, continuing to fight and get in there.
43:43Now he's going to go out.
43:44Xavier Scott's going to come in on this third down.
43:47Or maybe not.
43:48Maybe he's just going to tell the coach, kind of bargain his way to get back into the game.
43:5376 yards on the ground for Jones.
43:58He said he's putting in, coach.
43:59Yeah, he won.
44:00He won the negotiations.
44:04Xavier Scott's going out.
44:05So if the Vikings pick up a first down, it would end the game.
44:11And if they get stopped, you know, I initially said.
44:17I still have an opportunity to get the ball back.
44:18Yeah, I initially said kick a field goal from the Vikings.
44:22I would just punt the football, pin them deep.
44:25There's no way that I can see the Giants managing to get all the way down the field.
44:29There's Jones first down.
44:31Ball game.
44:32That will do it.
44:33The exclamation point for the Minnesota Vikings today.
44:39Jones lobbied to stay in the game.
44:41And he picks up the first.
44:45I mean, it gets no better than that.
44:47When you're veterans, they're not in the playoff hunt.
44:51They've been eliminated.
44:52But your veterans are showing by example why you want to be a tough guy,
44:59why you want to be a leader, what it is to be a professional in the NFL.
45:03He goes in there, runs as hard as he possibly can with a bum ankle, bum leg, gets the first down and seals the victory for the Vikings.
45:10So, Max Brosner, out of relief of J.J. McCarthy, the Vikings with a late field goal.
45:20One of their fans on hand with the skull chant.
45:27Yeah, and this is why we interviewed Kevin O'Connell.
45:30He was so excited about this team.
45:33He said this is the proudest he's been of any team because of how hard they fight, how hard they work,
45:38even though they really have nothing to look forward to except to try to win these games late
45:43and then hopefully get on a run, take that momentum into 20-26.
45:49Third straight win for the Vikings.
45:52Their ownership group, the Will family from New Jersey.
45:56Big contingent on hand, and the Vikings win their sixth in a row in the regular season.
46:01Over the Giants, rough day for Jackson Dart.
46:04Completed only seven passes, sacked five times.
46:07Giants lose their ninth straight.
46:09State Farm postgame is coming up next.
46:15Thanks for joining us today for Bedline Stadium for Jonathan Vilma, Megan O'Leary, and our entire crew.
46:23I'm Kenny Albert.
46:24Vikings with it by three.
46:25State Farm postgame.
