00:00We're talking about knowledge of the future in movies, YouTube channel, Easter Egg Psychic.
00:06In this video, I'll give some future references and predictive Easter eggs connecting actor Jim Carrey and Sega's video game series and movies based on Sonic the Hedgehog.
00:20And amazingly, you can find these in the original How the Grinch Stole Christmas, an MGM and CBS animated television special that broadcast in 1966.
00:33I'll give some background.
00:35Yeah, as you know, if you follow my videos, many times you can look at the works, cast and staff of movies and TV and go back and look at iterations and versions of the same works in the past.
00:50And you can find Easter egg hints and nods to the future collaboration.
00:57Alright, so the original Grinch based on the 1957 children's book by Dr. Seuss.
01:05Famed horror movie actor Boris Karloff narrates the Grinch is a monstrous creature who attempts to sabotage the Christmas celebrations of the small town of Whoville.
01:18And he lives up in a huge mountain abode that overlooks the village.
01:24Jim Carrey later played the Grinch in director Ron Howard's Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas in the year 2000.
01:33The culmination, live action, CG film.
01:36Others in this cast, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Bill Irwin, Molly Shannon, Anthony Hopkins.
01:44Alright, so watching the original How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
01:48At one minute, 13 seconds, I think there's a tip-off to the name of actor Jim Carrey.
01:55You can see this by what's visualized on screen.
01:58This is the townsfolk of Whoville are carrying the great Christmas tree.
02:04The idea is Carrey.
02:07It's a play on words.
02:09C-A-R-R-Y versus C-A-R-R-E-Y.
02:15Look here to the right and note the color of one of the Who's clothing.
02:21It's a close match to that of Sonic the Hedgehog villain Dr. Robotnik.
02:27A red, orange, and black.
02:30Also, I'll note that the design of the Who characters are also drawn in a similar way to how Robotnik was depicted in the Sonic the Hedgehog games.
02:43Going back to the original in 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog was Sega's flagship mascot game series.
02:53These have been adapted into three live-action CG films.
02:59The first one was out in 2020 starring Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik.
03:04Also, in the first one, James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumter, Neil Madonna.
03:10Idris Elba joined the cast in the second installment in 2022.
03:15Actor Keanu Reeves played Shadow the Hedgehog in part three in 2024.
03:22All right, so Sonic references in How the Grinch Stole Christmas 1966.
03:26These appear early on in the film, like in the first couple minutes.
03:32At three minutes, 49 seconds, the blue ball with the white star.
03:36I thought that reminiscent to some of the bumpers that appear in the Sonic games.
03:42In this series, Sonic, he can turn into a ball.
03:46He bounces around the screen.
03:47The stage and the surroundings are designed in a way that resembles the inside of a pinball machine.
03:57Notice how the Grinch complains famously about the noise.
04:02And that could be another reference to Sonic, the word being associated with sound.
04:08At four minutes, 45 seconds, I thought there may be another great visual reference.
04:15And look how the blue ball flies through the air and enters what appears to be a series of tubes or maybe a large horn or musical instrument.
04:27The visuals are very similar to what Sonic does in the video games.
04:32My YouTube channel is Easter Egg Psychic.
04:34There I go back and look at movies and television from the past.
04:38I analyze these for possible references to future media.
04:41These may appear in the form of anecdotes, idioms, anagrams, hidden in the subtext of the work in question.
04:48I also use an unconventional method where I look at the likenesses of the actors.
04:55And what I found is you can take the likenesses, match these up to some of the anecdotal items,
05:00and show past, present, and future information about actors and other personalities
05:06that may resemble the personalities in the movie or television episode that you're watching.
