00:00Clinton, Tyler, I'm really intrigued by this, and I'll be honest with you, Tyler and B. Scott were like the two people I first noticed this with, and it is so interesting to me, and I just want to learn more about this, and that is, because I heard it again this morning,
00:22the dismissive nature that Texans fans have in regards to the Jacksonville Jaguars, I have never understood it, like quite understood exactly why, because I remember Tyler and Clint, we've been doing this a long time, and the Texans have been in different spaces in this time we've been doing it.
00:47At their absolute worst, I've heard Tyler laugh at the Jags. I'm talking David Culliville, now they ended up winning.
00:55It's like the Angels for Tyler.
00:58Yeah, but it's just...
00:59Very similar, yeah.
01:00But I'm like, it is crazy to me.
01:07I don't seem to understand the feeling of this, because to me, Tyler, the franchises have been similar, like, I mean, in terms of their success.
01:21In terms of their success, I mean, they've both made it to the playoffs eight times, they're both pretty young, you know, 95 for the Jags, and 0-2 for the Texans, and the Jags have been to the AFC title game three times, but never a Super Bowl.
01:35They're both, or one of few teams that have never been to the Super Bowl, but it does, it feels like Texans fans look at the Jags, like, maybe the only franchise that I feel like Texans fans look at that's beneath them, no matter how good or bad they are.
01:50Jags from a Jag, man.
01:51Like, right now, you, like, we could go through the AFC, and Tyler, when I say to you, man, I think any team in the AFC can get to the Super Bowl.
02:00I think Jacksonville can get to the Super Bowl.
02:02I think you would laugh, just like you just did.
02:03Yeah, that was natural.
02:05And I don't think that you're putting on.
02:08No.
02:09You've been doing this since I've known you.
02:11I talked to B. Scott about this this morning.
02:14He said, they're not a serious organization.
02:16Never have been.
02:17I said, what is them?
02:18But I'm just trying to get an understanding of the difference between, because honest to God, as somebody that steps away, that from the, they seem like similar level franchises and similar level success.
02:32In some ways that you laid out there, yes, but in other ways, not at all, and the reasoning is logical.
02:38Because I think the Titans have been, for the most part, just as, as, in a similar vein, right?
02:50I feel like Texans fans have that feeling towards the Titans.
02:53It is just, it is so dismissive of the Jags.
02:57It's just so, I've never, I've never understood it.
03:00As you mentioned, they got started right at the Jags in 95.
03:04Houston, of course, inception was 2002, correct?
03:08Yes.
03:08So a seven-year head start for the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL.
03:13During that time, they have won two AFC South titles.
03:17Texans have won eight.
03:18Head-to-head, Texans own that record, 32-16 over the Jaguars.
03:24And they have 170-plus wins in the AFC South compared to the Jags' 150 during their time in the division.
03:31They've just never been a franchise that you should believe in.
03:36And especially as a Texans fan, it might be, as you said, the only team that we feel this way about.
03:41That might be absolutely right.
03:43But you should.
03:44Because that's, it's just logical and everything points that direction.
03:48This franchise is a joke in Jacksonville.
03:50You know, I was trying to explain this to somebody.
03:55Please.
03:55I'm trying to learn it.
03:56No, no, I was trying to explain it from, because I feel the same way, but it's not the Texan fan in me that pushes me that way.
04:05That was the conversation.
04:06Was that like, I was talking to some other Texans fans, and it was the same feel that Tyler has.
04:13And I was like, yeah, I feel the same exact way.
04:15I believe the same exact, I mean, I feel literally to my bone, I feel that bones.
04:20I feel that way about Jacksonville.
04:23But it has nothing to do with the Texans.
04:24It's just simply, I just can't view them.
04:28Ever.
04:29Like, right now, I do not, I do not, I would not trust them anywhere remotely close to the way I would trust.
04:34I believe the Texans could make a run right now.
04:39Yeah.
04:39Yeah, it's.
04:41Like, no, I would not, I would not consider them a Super Bowl.
04:45Like, I would have a hard time having a real conversation about them being a potential Super Bowl team.
04:51But, but, but in a way, but you, you look at them differently right now that you do the, the Texans.
04:56Absolutely.
04:57Yeah.
04:57Yeah.
04:58Now, a lot of that has to do with, like, I just, I believe the Texans have a unit that is a Super Bowl caliber unit at this point in time.
05:05And I don't believe either one of the units in Jacksonville are that.
05:09Yeah.
05:09I mean, I just.
05:10I'm not a big believer in Trevor Lawrence either.
05:11And they are, they are pot committed to Trevor Lawrence.
05:15Yeah, I just.
05:17See, I, yeah, I just, I would look at this.
05:19I feel like based off what we've seen this year, I think, I feel like they probably have as good a chance as the Texans.
05:27Like, based off what we've seen this year.
05:30Like, I mean, but even not just this year, but like the organizations feel the same.
05:35Very similar.
05:37And I understand what you've laid out.
05:38There have been some, there have been some more success within winning the division.
05:42Right.
05:43But, but, but like, they've got the same amount of playoff appearances.
05:46They're like this.
05:47The organizations feel the same.
05:50This doesn't feel like the Steelers and the Browns.
05:53Right.
05:53Like it didn't.
05:54And I mean, for Texans fans, it like I, I, anytime you mentioned the Jags, it is met with laughter.
06:03Like, when I say that to, to Brandon or Tyler, I can feel the laughter through some of the texts that are coming in.
06:15My man right here, he, he chuckled as soon as I said it.
06:19But the Jacksonville, Jacksonville Jaguars, in the, I would look at them and say the same, they feel like the same class of the Texans.
06:27Like as an organization, even in this year, I feel like the same class of the Texans.
06:32Five winning seasons.
06:33Ever.
06:33Yeah, I can't get there.
06:37I can't get there from a football perspective.
06:39I'm not hating from, I'm not, I'm not like the Texans hate.
06:41I'm just, I can't get there from a football perspective.
06:43I can't, I can't, like right now, I can't, I can't look at that team and say, I feel like they got as good a chance to win a Super Bowl as the Texans do right now.
06:50And they have the worst color scheme in the whole league.
06:52They have a bad color scheme.
06:54That's what I will not, not deny.
06:57But it is, yeah, it is, it is, it is odd to me.
07:01That, that, that is just something that I've never understood.
07:05But someone texted in, they've just never had a quarterback.
07:09Yeah, I guess Mark Brunel is probably the best quarterback they've had, maybe in that time frame.
07:13But, yeah, someone texted in and said, I don't know why we're, we're saying this.
07:18They've at least been to an AFC title game.
07:21That's fair.
07:22What'd they do with it?
07:23They got the same amount of Super Bowl trophies that Houston does.
07:26And appearances.
07:27Yeah.
07:28Yeah.
07:28Okay.
07:29I'm learning a little bit.
07:30I guess learning, still trying to figure this out.
07:33Well, I mean, I think, look, as, as a younger franchise, I think it's, it's one organization
07:37that historically you've dominated.
07:41I mean, you've won two out of every three games you've played them.
07:45I think, I think you're like their next head coach and, and, and failed miserably.
07:5240 times.
07:52Um, I think that at least, you know, for me, since I've been here, I think the Texans,
07:59obviously the, the two dysfunctional Deshaun Watson years there were, that was purposely
08:04done.
08:04Ain't nobody taking this job.
08:05They were, they knew they weren't hiring the future.
08:07Um, when they hired a guy that they thought was the future, I think they, I think they've
08:11hit more time, you know, most of the time where I think Jacksonville has struggled.
08:15So yeah, I, I can't believe in Jacksonville either.
08:17I'll be honest with you.
08:19Yeah.
08:19I'm not disgusted by him the way Tyler is, but, but I don't believe they don't take it.
08:23Yeah.
08:24Like, yeah.
08:24I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't want to stifle back vomit, man.
08:26And it's crazy, it's, it doesn't, and it's crazy, but it's like, it doesn't matter what
08:30type of team they have, who they have.
08:32It's like, I believe Tom Brady could have gone in there and y'all would have been like,
08:37it's the Jags.
08:38He'll, they'll ruin him too.
08:41They'll, they'll, they'll Jag him too.
08:42Can't rule it out.
08:44Can't rule it out.
08:44Just kidding.
08:45I'm trying, I'm trying to get her sick because every time I say it, I've said to you, hey,
08:48Tyler, man, Jags, better look out for the Jags, man.
08:51Yeah.
08:52And, uh, yeah.
08:53And Mike Trout's going to have a fully healthy season.
08:55Yeah.
08:55You do.
08:56You're right.
08:56You're right.
