00:00Actually getting to play a soul like
00:07pretty different from like Arthur and 2 from the main game because you get to
00:12play a snappy that has lived on Pandora for quite a while right it's like an
00:17experienced fighter. I mean he fought in the battle of Halulia mountains alongside
00:22Jake he lost his clan and so he has all of this trauma. So when you see the
00:27finish you can feel all the pain that Solek has inside of him when he like
00:32crashes and takes like the pilot out of the M-suit and throw it away and yeah
00:38and then try to push like that fast-paced combat so you could like run and jump
00:42do takedowns from above also the Hydra machine guns you can steal from Samson
00:50gunships right they can do a stealth they can do guns blazing but so that's what
00:54we want. And so that opened up opportunities for new features like
00:59warrior senses it channels that energy from like taking out his enemies and
01:03anger that he feels about the game. I can take down more enemies faster when I
01:09activate this and we can actually play with the amount of enemies the amount of
01:13danger that we throw at you because we're giving you some tools to tackle them.
01:17Part of why this fight is so personal for him because he will not lose another
01:21family like you will fight to the very end. We also see that bond between him
01:26and his Ikran Ilay because his first Ikran died in the Battle of Halyuri
01:30Mountains as well. You can use your Ikran we call it the Ikran pickup and you can
01:35switch between ground combat and Ikran combat whatever you want.
01:41Having Natvi as an enemy is very much a new kind of threat.
01:46It's very strange to see Natvi turn against Ewa and turn against Pandora you know these
01:53Ash clan they burn they kill you know Solek is driven by a lot of darkness a lot of
01:59vengeance. The Monkwan of course also driven by darkness but they take it to a
02:04very different extreme. They're very agile they're doing basically what the player can do
02:08they can throw grenades and stuff like that. We do have the Monkwan foot soldiers as I would call
02:13them and we have the the bosses which are like you know our most skilled Monkwan characters and I don't
02:21want to spoil too much about the challenge itself but for us it was very exciting to
02:27get to use their personalities to build like to craft very unique challenges very
02:33unique moments for the players. Because they don't fight fair they fight for keeps
02:38and they are just ruthless in their constant need for power and domination. We at Lightstorm and our
02:48massive partners really worked very hard to pull together that marrying of what you're going to be
02:54seeing on screen on 1219 and the expansion from the ashes on the same day. This had always been
02:59the dream is to ensure that we could have these two pieces of content sort of complement one another
03:04and speak the same language. So we've been building for years this beautiful magnificent world and now
03:10we have a test like actually well okay how do we change it transform it to support this the story
03:15right how do we burn down how they twist it so it was like a bittersweet experience right. We wanted
03:21also to feel more the scale of the word to give that option to the players to to play in third person and to
03:27see their character. It was very challenging thing to do in such short time and I'm just like super proud
03:36of what the team actually managed to deliver because we did even more than what we thought we would do.
03:42So it's almost like you're playing a completely new game right if you played before in the first
03:47person now in third person it's like everything feels so new. I know the whole team is very excited
03:51about that. We created a whole new area because we knew that on the main game right or in our story
03:56packs people love to explore Pandora so we wanted to give them more of course right so we created
04:00this whole new ravines region which is based on the basal rock formations right but we of course added
04:06like an alien touch they're all like twisted and you know you see like the flux vortexes there and
04:11like basalt floating mountains and it's gorgeous. The friend two character will be in from the ashes as
04:16a companion and so it's a chance for players to see their character that they created in a whole new way.
04:23If you have played the main game and if you want to you can like import your save and get to see
04:30your own character that you actually customize in the main game and we have a bunch of other
04:35surprises for our players that I don't want to spoil when it comes to the Saran 2 character and I hope
04:41they're gonna love it.
