Would you get stung by a Cow Killer for $10,000? What about a scorpion for $2,500?
Well today I answered both of those questions, along with tons more to figure out which animal actually has the most painful sting. And in the process, I actually learned quite a bit about these animals and how they use their stingers as defense. And also learned why they are all such cool animals that we gotta show our respect to!Remember like I said in the video, don't try this at home! 00:03And some of those animals, like the cow killer, have venom so strong that their stings cause some of the most immense pain ever.
00:10Oh my gosh, guys, this is super bad.
00:12So I went out and got five levels of insect stings that get progressively more painful.
00:17And I got my friend named Cy to take on this sting challenge.
00:21I'm here to get stung by a couple insects, yeah?

00:24And if you look at this paper, it's actually going to start with only $100 if you take on the first sting.
00:28But by the end, you'll be able to win $10,000 if you take on the last sting.
00:33$10,000 is no small amount of money.

00:40Yep, for $100, you're going to have to put your hand on an ant nest for 30 seconds, meaning you might get stung multiple times.

00:51So I took them down a trail by my house till we found a harvester ant nest.
00:56Despite these guys being pretty small, they actually have pretty painful stings.
01:00But yeah, it's pretty much nothing compared to the stings later in this video.
01:04For $100, put your hand on the ant nest in 3, 2, 1.
01:09Now, Cy has to keep his hand here for 45 seconds to win.
01:12But unfortunately, it wasn't looking good for him because immediately workers started to swarm onto his hand.

01:25But oh boy, did things quickly start escalating?
01:27Because out of nowhere, like 15 more ants started swarming onto his hand to investigate what it was.

01:45Yeah, so apparently, Cy literally got stung at the very last second, but by just one ant, thankfully.

04:42So, I peeled off the sticky note to reveal the animal.

04:51Now, Cy is right.
04:52Usually, crab pinches are not as painful as insect stings.
04:55But the reason I'm having Cy get pinched instead of stung for this round is actually to prepare
05:00him for the $2,500 round, where he's going to be getting stung by something that not only
05:05has a stinger, but it also has pinchers.
05:08Anyways, I opened up the box that the crab was inside of, so I could show Cy what he was
05:12about to be getting pinched by in this round.
05:14And here it is.
05:15A rainbow land crab.
05:17All right, so we got the crab out the container, as you can see.
05:19And what are you thinking of it?
05:20First impressions.
05:21It's very colorful.
05:23And the claw on the left there is kind of big, but...
05:27Yep, crabs actually have one big claw to use for extra crushing power.
05:31So, hopefully, Cy gets pinched by that.
05:33But actually, something I noticed about this crab was that it was actually injured.
05:37You see, normally, crabs are supposed to have four legs on both sides of their bodies.
05:41But this dude only has two legs on this side of his body.
05:44I'm not sure how he lost two of his legs, but because of this, I wanted to make sure
05:48I built this guy a nice little enclosure.
05:50That way, he'd have a place to rest after the pinch test.
05:53But yeah, don't worry.
05:53This didn't take long, because we just immediately started to spam place a bunch of rocks all along
05:58the side of the enclosure.
06:00Now, this may look kind of like trash, but I'm actually trying to recreate a rocky coastal
06:04environment that these crabs are used to in the wild.
06:07All right, could you help me outside?
06:08Could you pour the water in?
06:10Yeah, I got you.
06:11Let's get this crab a nice home.
06:13Oh, yeah, yep, get that water in.
06:15Yep.
06:15Yep, you're pretty good at this.
06:16He's swimming forever.
06:18After we got the water in, I started to scatter around some of these random decorations.
06:22And obviously, I planted some plants in the water, because it wouldn't be a tear green
06:25enclosure without some.
06:27Finally, I put some final technology in, like a filter and a water heater, so we could have
06:31this build finished.
06:32Anyways, yeah, we quickly introduced this crab into the enclosure, and it seemed like he
06:36liked it.
06:36And he immediately found some nice little places to hide at.
06:39But obviously, Sy has $1,000 to win.
06:43Let's do this test.
06:44All right, Sy, for $1,000, you can go ahead and take the crab out of the container and,
06:49yeah, just get pinched.
06:50Do it however you want.
06:52Just take it out.
06:52Let's see how it goes.
06:53All right, you just want to let it crawl out.

06:55So, yeah, immediately the crab ran straight up to Sy's finger, and it looked like he meant

07:00But Sy actually thought the best way to do this test would be to pick up the crab.
07:04So, yeah, that's what he did.
07:05All right, so you got a hold of it.
07:06That's a pretty small move, but all right, his pinchers are ready.
07:09All right, let's do it.

07:11So, Sy started to put his finger up to the claw of the crab, and the crab started to give
07:15the most vicious, brutal pinch of all time, as you can see.
07:20I'm just kidding.
07:21It was purely pinching.
07:22What are you feeling?
07:23Uh, not much.
07:24I mean, he's kind of just sleeping, it seems like.
07:26Bro, what is this crab doing?
07:27You're holding him in his hand, like, and he's just grabbing on.

07:33Yeah, actually, it was kind of funny how friendly this crab was.

07:45Well, I didn't tell you about the second part of the challenge, where you got to let that
07:48crab actually, uh, pinch your cheek on your face.

08:26But first, we still got to do the $2,500 sting, and I got the money right here.

08:32Uh, based off how easy the last one was, I think we do it.
08:35It can't be that hard compared to the crab.

08:38So I took the sticky note off to reveal the next sting, a giant desert hairy scorpion.
08:44So, Sy, you got to get stung by America's largest scorpion species.
08:51Okay, that's probably going to be a lot worse than a crab.
08:53Yeah, it definitely is.
08:55Yeah, um, you know what?
08:56For $2,500, I think we can tank it.
08:58Let's do it.
08:59But you could tell Sy was starting to get a lot more skeptical, and this time he wanted
09:03to spend a bit of time to research online to figure out if it was actually safe to get
09:07stung by a desert hairy scorpion.
09:09Now, these guys got pretty painful venom, but of course, everything I've chosen in this
09:14video is completely safe for Sy to get stung by.
09:17It's just a bit painful, of course.
09:19So, Sy, what do you think?
09:20Is this something you're down to get stung by after researching on Google?
09:23Uh, yeah.
09:23I mean, based off what Google said, seems pretty safe, but it's definitely going to hurt.

09:38So, yeah.
09:38At first, Sy wasn't really sure of how to get stung, so he kind of just started to tap
09:42the scorpion's claws and stuff to see if he could get it mad.
09:45But you see, scorpions are actually nocturnal.
09:48So, I knew it was pretty unlikely that this dude was just going to randomly sting Sy, since
09:52we were recording during the day.
09:53And after, like, a minute or two of Sy very fearfully putting his finger around and even
09:57on the scorpion, my theory was proved right because the scorpion was actually being very
10:02chill and not even stinging him once.
10:05You see, when people like Coyote Peterson did their scorpion sting tests, they actually
10:09grabbed the stinger of the scorpion with tweezers.
10:12So, I figured I should do the same thing here to ensure this test went very smoothly.
10:17All right, Sy.
10:17Three, two, one.
10:21Ow!
10:21Oh, did it sting you?
10:23Yep.

10:25Oh, it's not that bad, but it's sharp.
