00:00That fight ended just a few hours ago at her home in New York.
00:04Here's Melinda Nusifora.
00:06She was undeniably the wild woman of Australian rock.
00:15With her gravelly voice and school uniform sex appeal,
00:20she gave all the boys in town a run for their money.
00:23Without a doubt, she was one of the queens of rock.
00:30She was absolutely rock royalty.

00:47were a fixture on the Australian stage.
00:50The Divinals notched up top ten hits in the US and the UK
00:54before her explosive relationship with bandmate Matt McEntee

01:01Amflit was in debt and in the grips of an alcohol addiction.
01:04I am a very naughty girl. I like to party.

01:17her body failed her.

01:28She wrote on her Facebook page,
01:30you become sadly a patient in a world of waiting rooms.
01:34You spend a lot of time on your knees praying for a miracle.
01:38It's a sad time for all Australian rock fans and rock fans around the world.
01:41And like I said, she was an inspiration at times
01:45where female eyes weren't necessarily all over the charts like they are today.
01:48In the 1980s, she sang The Good Die Young.
01:53Turns out, she was right.
