43:02feel free to ignore my sob story
43:04and go straight to the bar
43:06but for those of you who don't know it
43:09here's the short version
43:11my parents were both junior hockey coaches
43:15and they were hit by a drunk driver
43:19when i was 12 years old
43:20mercifully for them
43:23they died instantly
43:24mercifully for me
43:26the saint thomas scholarships existed
43:29i didn't have anybody else to help me
43:34had a lot of memories
43:37a love of hockey
43:38and
43:39a huge hole in my heart
43:41saint thomas filled it with hope
43:44the hope of a new family
43:47things things weren't always easy
43:50you know they never are for anybody
43:52but
43:52in hockey i found what i was missing
43:56first at my high school
43:59then later at college
44:00and now here with the admirals
44:01and i never looked back
44:04because i never had to
44:06the family i craved
44:11the family that i needed
44:12that that i still need today
44:14hockey gave it to me
44:17and saint thomas gave me hockey
44:20so from the bottom of my heart
44:24i want to thank you all for being here tonight
44:26and for supporting this cause
44:28because it's not just a scholarship
44:30it's
44:30it's everything that comes with it
44:33it's a whole world
