Transcript
00:00Taylor Swift made her long-awaited big announcement during a Yahoo! livestream on Monday,
00:04and as expected, it was about her upcoming fifth album we now know will be titled 1989.
00:11Besides 1989 being the year of Taylor's birth, what else do we know about the new album?
00:16Here are five things we learned from Monday's announcement.
00:18Number one, the country world will have to do without her for a while because this album
00:22is going to be 100% pop. Specifically, Taylor told the crowd that it would be influenced by
00:2880s pop, saying,
00:30Number two, her first single is called Shake It Off, which is basically another anti-haters
00:38anthem. As Taylor explained, people can say whatever they want about us at any time.
00:43The only thing we can control is our reaction to that.
00:46Number three, in case you didn't think she was serious about the pop thing, her video for Shake
00:50It Off, which she debuted on Monday, includes nods to mega pop stars like Lady Gaga, Fergie,
00:56and Gwen Stefani. And warning, guys, there is some serious awkward twerking involved.
01:14Number four, she didn't officially announce any collaborations yet, but rumors are already
01:19swirling that Taylor may pull in pop acts like One Direction and her new buddy Lorde for the album.
01:24And panic at the disco frontman Brandon Urie recently expressed his desire to work with
01:29the singer. Number five, her album is set to hit scores on October 27th. Now, we already know
01:35Taylor will be performing at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards, so it's probably safe to assume
01:40that she's going to perform Shake It Off live for the first time ever. I'm Elena Scantlin,
01:45stay tuned to ENTV for all of your entertainment news.
