A protest outside the Ministry of Justice to highlight the plight of the hunger strikers who are nearing death as the government continues to refuse to engage with them and their legal team... It seems our government would rather let our citizens starve to death than risk offending Israel. Shame on them...

00:00Hunter Shrike's choice is not symbolic, it is real and it is urgent.
00:05No one chooses formation lightly. It is not a tactic of ease or comfort.
00:11It is the last stand where all other attributes have been denied.
00:16To dismiss it is to misunderstand its gravity.
00:22To ignore it is to participate in harm.
00:25The Hunter Shrike is an urgent moral demand, a demand that the world sees what's happening in Gaza,
00:35a demand that injustice is challenged, a demand that those in power are held accountable.
00:44Standing with them and reading our voices, refusing to let their sacrifice no one noticed,
00:50this is where our power lies.
00:53This is where Solidarity transformed from words into action.
00:59These young people are teaching us something fundamental,
01:03that justice is not passive, that it does not wait for anyone's permission and that it will not be silenced.
01:13What we are standing here for is bigger than the 800 Shrikers.
01:16It is about the right of every person to resist oppression and to act in the face of injustice
01:25and to demand accountability for those complicit in genocide.
01:31We should not accept a status quo where people have to starve themselves to be hurt and where even that is not enough.
01:43This is the moment that matters.
01:45If someone dies on hunger strike in a UK prison, it will not be because harm was impossible,
01:51but because it was been held.
01:53Let us make it clear that the moral courage of a few young people will not be ignored,
02:04and that those who risk everything to defend life will never be forgotten.
02:08Their fight is our fight, and their courage must combat us to act.
02:14Solidarity, thank you.
02:15Free, free, free, free, free, free, free, free, free, free, free, free.
02:27Our next speaker is Shamil Jordan, here representing Commander Malaksa,
02:31one of the co-organisers of today's rally.
02:34Thank you so much.
02:35Can I do the hard-loss strikers?
02:38Can I do the hard-loss strikers?
02:40Can I do the hard-loss strikers?
02:42Can I do the hard-loss strikers?
02:44Can I do the hard-loss strikers?
02:45These guys, these guys are doing something that we have been unable to do so.
02:55They are continuing, continuing to keep Palestine at the forefront of their lives.
03:05They are literally having Palestine at the forefront of their lives.
03:12Palestine is their life.
03:14They are having to give their life to Palestine,
03:17because the Justice Secretary cannot even bother to meet,
03:23to meet what they're making to say in their lives.
03:29Shame on Lani. Shame on our government.
03:35But you will. I'm not even surprised. This is the sad thing. I'm not even surprised.
03:42This is the pride. This government, this current Justice Secretary, who is the Foreign Secretary,
03:47has overridden. Our government has watched over our government be a partner in the genocide.
03:55In this continuing genocide. So we can't expect that.
04:00But we must demand it. We must demand it. We must continue.
04:05Because people's lives are at risk. Not just in Gaza and Palestine. They're here too.
04:11And we will not be silent. We will not power. They cannot silence us.
04:17Because we stand for justice. We stand for humanity.
04:23Something that they lack. And they're trying to take away from us.
04:28I tell you. I plead. Every single one of you. Do not let the government take that humanity away from us.
04:35They're trying to split us. They're trying to fight us. They're trying to scare us.
04:40But we shall not. Every legislation. Every breath breathing.
04:47Everything they do is to make us scared so we stare at home.
04:52For them to make us think that we do not matter. For them to make us think that we have no voice.
05:01But let me tell you. Let me tell them. We matter. We all matter. We are the movement.
05:11Because things historically have never changed when the government and the ministers and those in power decide.
05:19Change happens when we make it happen.
05:22And we stay united when we continue to stay on the streets and we say. On this issue.
05:31Do you see. Do you see. Do you see. Do you see. Do you see. Do you see. Do you see.
05:37And with that. With that said. Between now. And the next National Demonstration on Saturday the 31st of January.
05:45No doubt, no doubt you will hear more things coming from the government, more to try and break us.
05:53But this is why between now and the next temptation on January the 31st, we must feel stronger than we have.
06:00Bring in this new year when you're seeing your friends and family during this holiday period.
06:05Remind us, we are going to be so lucky to be spending with our loved ones.
06:10So, so lucky to be choosing what we eat.
06:12So, so lucky, but that is not the case for those in Gaza.
06:18So, let us continue to build our movement of love.
06:21Let us continue to stand in solidarity.
06:24And let's march forward together.
06:26Free, free, Palestine.
06:28Free, free, Palestine.
06:34Free, free, Palestine.
06:37Free, free, Palestine.
06:39Free, free, Palestine.
06:41Free, free, from the river to the sea.
06:51Free, free, Palestine.
06:54From the river to the sea.
06:58From the river to the sea.
07:01From the sea! From the river to the sea! And from the sea to the river! From the sea to the river!
07:16Okay, thank you so much everyone for being here tonight.
07:23She had been at the point that you're right, now she's awaiting 23.
07:26She's on day 46 of hunger strike. Her life was, and still is, at risk.
07:32Zahra Sultana had contacted David Lamy and West Street team urging immediate intervention, but received no response.
07:43Eventually today, Kessa has received an ambulance transfer to hospital, but that's only as a result of the protests outside.
07:52And yet, the sorry police decided to arrest the only black man there, a doctor.
07:58Shame!
08:02Protesters have now left outside the prison, but please keep an eye on social media for details of arrestee support for those who are arrested there today.
08:12And at this protest...
08:15We have a style. We have a style.
08:18We are free. We have a style. We are free. nosotros are free.
08:23We are free for the begging of the jury.
08:27We are free. We are free.
