00:00All right so here is Tyler
00:03Malley and in a rotation that
00:04has Jacob deGrom and it's got
00:06Nathan Evaldi it's got a couple
00:08first round picks that they're
00:09high on it's this guy here
00:11Tyler Malley leading the charge
00:13at three and all with a zero
00:14nine to his first outing of the
00:16year was a little bit of a rough
00:18one but after that he has been
00:19on a roll and the roll has
00:21mainly been with his foreseam
00:23fastball that is elevated.
00:24Otani stands in on this Easter
00:26Sunday his first game as a dad
00:29congratulations to Shohei and
00:32Mamiko give birth to a baby girl
00:35there's a little roller second
00:37base great start to the ball game
00:39Otani grounds out to Simeon one
00:41away here is Mookie Betts time
00:43sets up outside that's in the air
00:47right field should be a routine
00:49enough play for Garcia it is
00:51ready hitting 389 over his last
00:53five games three two pretty good
00:56Freeman takes the walk and the
00:58Dodgers have their first base
01:00runner so he's out there for
01:01Teoscar Hernandez not going
01:03anywhere that's in the air
01:05center field Dustin Harris finds
01:07his way to it what is Tyler
01:09Glass now have in store here for
01:10his fourth start of the year
01:12well the Dodgers are hoping
01:13there's a lot of first pitch
01:14strikes because he can get
01:15people out in the strike zone
01:17that should be very confident to
01:18throw those Marcus Simeon steps
01:20in to face him Simeon floats one
01:22in the center field the time he
01:24Edmonds will track down for the
01:25first half here's Corey he had a
01:27six game hitting streak and
01:28yesterday bouncer for Freddie
01:31Freeman last now covers and he's
01:33retired the first two two down
01:35Smith better Josh Smith smacks one
01:38the last base hit same way that he
01:40went with his big double in the
01:41ninth inning last night he gets
01:42Garcia up he goes to become the
01:45first base runner of the day for
01:46Texas spotlight on this man right
01:48here Garcia the big walk off
01:50yesterday his fourth home run of
01:51the year high pop up he was
01:55careful with the first pitch and
01:56he induced a weak little pop to
01:58Miguel Rojas Malley really sharp
02:00in the first inning it's Tommy
02:01Edmond and he swings in rolls
02:04this one down to first but
02:05exchange from Berger and Edmond
02:07retired one away here's
02:09Conforto little tapper back
02:11toward the mound Malley throws it
02:14over to first in time and
02:15Conforto retired away from
02:17Muncie swinging a miss
02:18he gets the fastball by him it's
02:20a one two three top half of the
02:22second for Tyler Malley he is
02:24retired six of seven why does
02:26miss the last nine Rangers games
02:27on the injured list with side
02:29soreness had a really good and
02:31positive rehab and his first day
02:32back today and he's got a lead
02:35off walk Dustin Harris the batter
02:37all he's done is get on base
02:39every single game yesterday it was
02:40a walk that snapped his four game
02:42hitting streak the 0-2 pitch got
02:45him that pitch was spiked before
02:47the plate Harris couldn't go
02:48cricket on it so that's the first
02:50K for glass now one gone in the
02:52second Josh with hits in nine of
02:53twelve to begin the season there
02:55goes Langford strike three throw
02:58down not in time stolen base it's
03:01well executed all around the safe
03:03stolen bases a good jump and good
03:05speed but then a very strong throw
03:07is just outrun the baseball first
03:09man in scoring position in this game
03:11and it stays scoreless so far so good
03:26today Malley has issued the one walk
03:27that's it and he'll deal with Austin
03:29Barnes Barnes scouts a base hit in the
03:33center first hit of the day comes from
03:35Austin Barnes one game after he gets
03:37his first hit of the year well that's
03:39important because it does set the
03:41Dodgers up with Shohei Otani coming
03:43to the plate and he struck out
03:45swinging Otani is the second out of
03:47the inning what a great splitty here
03:50from Tyler Malley as this one's on the
03:52edge of the play and then just goes
03:55right below the zone last second the
03:583 0 pitch and that misses badly Betts
04:00walks so Malley interestingly after
04:02the great command we had seen all
04:04day just nowhere close really there
04:06on me two on two out Freddie Freeman
04:09trying to crack the scoring seal
04:10swing and a miss
04:13dash ball near the top of the zone
04:15and now he gets the job done here no
04:17runs we've got two men out here in
04:19the third now for Josh Smith and he
04:22hits this one over third that's a
04:24base hit and Josh has two hits today
04:26behind goes to second two men on two
04:28out what a perfect spot for Doliz
04:30Garcia back to it again lifted the
04:33center field no big deal for Tommy
04:35Edmond and again glass now pitches
04:37around traffic top of the fourth
04:39inning no score to Oscar Hernandez
04:41leads off chops one down the line
04:44that's a fair ball that sneaks by
04:46Josh Young lead off double task or
04:48Hernandez just couldn't get to it in
04:51time playing off the line sneaks by
04:54Young's glove and it's the Dodgers
04:56lead off double which is always tough
04:58to pitch around one two pitch and this
05:00one blasted down to third base in a
05:02wow interesting base running maneuver
05:04there by Hernandez he took third base
05:07with a ground ball right in front of
05:08him Muncie the hitter one two and he
05:11taps that one right out in front of the
05:13plate easy play for Jonah Heim and
05:15good job by Berger to keep that toe near
05:18the bag Blankford walked his first time
05:20come up and stole second strike three
05:23caught on a fastball guessing something
05:26else fourth K for glass now fires oh
05:28two back to back K's retires Harris the
05:33same way that he got him in the second
05:35not good here Thomas Elbert the
05:37trainers out there to talk with
05:38glass now the athletic trainers saw
05:40something there I think that might have
05:41been a little concerning to him and
05:43glass not trying to explain what it was
05:45apparently to their satisfaction and he
05:47strikes out the side fastball attack in
05:50the zone from Tyler glass now is fired
05:53four scoreless no score to the bottom
05:55of the fifth after Tyler glass now
05:57strikes out the side in the four faces
05:59Jake Berger and he's right there with
06:02a fastball to the inside corner and
06:05Barnes is coming out again don't like
06:07that it's the landing foot or is his
06:10back right foot with the trainer back out
06:13again hopefully he's OK but luckily for
06:15the Dodgers this has nothing to do with
06:16his right arm kind of limping off the
06:19field as well well that's bad news for
06:21the Dodgers and you hope that it's
06:22nothing too serious for Tyler glass
06:24now he's done Garcia comes in the 0 2
06:27to Berger got him swinging great pitch
06:30from Luis Garcia six shutout so far
06:33today for the Rangers right hander
06:34he has been brilliant well he's cruising
06:36so much here we are tie game seventh
06:39inning and Rangers nobody has been up in
06:41the pen Edmund going 0 for 2 make it
06:450 for 3 and that's outside he walks
06:47Conforto see now Mike Maddox getting
06:50somebody up in the pen till Max
06:52Muncy the batter 1 1 and that's on the
06:54ground up the middle Seager cuts it
06:56off will throw the first in time to
06:58get Muncy for the second out of the
07:00inning Rojas with an 0 for 2 so far
07:02today looking for his first run bed at
07:04the end of the season got him swinging
07:077 shutout innings for Tyler Malley Tyler
07:10Malley goes with the heat he goes with
07:13the fastball up it's worked for him all
07:15game it's worked for him all season and
07:17it works for him here to close out the
07:19Dodgers in the seventh point a great
07:21season for him maybe his best game yet he's
07:24done and Chris Martin takes the mound in
07:26this 0 to 0 ballgame will Smith pinch
07:29hitting for Austin Barnes and the first
07:32pitch he bangs it into the left center
07:34field a leadoff hit cold off of the
07:36bench but the hot bat continues so
07:39here comes Shohei Ohtani here's a
07:413-1 and there's ball four first two
07:45each for the Dodgers something
07:47brewing and a scoreless game in the
07:49eighth now a little bit of traffic
07:50here and Mookie Betts at the plate
07:52and Betts sends it high in the air
07:56out to right Garcia gets to a spot
07:59makes a catch to runners tag throw
08:01comes back in toward third and it's
08:03down in time Freddie Freeman one of the
08:05great situational hitters of this era
08:07first and third one away no score in the
08:09eighth drives it the other way
08:12Langford going back plenty deep enough to
08:15break the scoreless tie Freddie Freeman with a
08:18sacrifice fly right after Mookie Betts
08:21advances Smith with a fly of his own
08:23team baseball in the eighth to take a
08:251-0 lead definitely the approach of an RBI
08:29champ to the bottom of the ninth inning
08:31leading one to nothing Tanner Scott comes
08:33on to close the ninth Scott in his first
08:35year with the Dodgers seven out of eight
08:37Wyatt Langford first up against the
08:39Rangers need a base runner on the ground up the
08:42middle long throw across his body not in time
08:45great job by Wyatt Langford just to put it in
08:48play and the Rangers have some speed on in the
08:50ninth Pilar is going to pinch hit pop up
08:53shadow right Rojas over he's there for the first down of the
08:57nine so here's Josh Young Young's had a tough day he's at a
09:01slow homestand on this 2-2 he rips a line drive to that
09:04field Chris Tanner's there two out story of the day for
09:08Texas hard hit balls to the wrong spot and with two outs it
09:13is up to Jake Berger there goes Langford Berger takes throw from
09:16Smith is in time game over he popped off the bag Rangers will
09:23understandably challenge and you can't take that challenge
09:25with you you might as well see if there's something here's the
09:28other problem though at the Rangers face here is the call in the
09:30field was out he was there in time when he came off the base
09:33though oh boy that is tough I can't overturn it if it was on
09:37me right now oh my goodness just the tip of that cleat he's
09:41and I think he's safe he's safe he's safe watching it again
09:44when that spike gets down the glove is not on him I think the
09:48glove is on him while he's on the bag he is there now yeah and
09:53the gloves off after review the call in the field stands the
09:56runner is out shoot instant replay into the moon just complete
10:02silliness and the Dodgers win it one to nothing they avoided hard
10:07hit balls and they got a nice call at the end of the game and so
10:11the Dodgers get their fifth win out of their last six games now
10:14sixteen and seven and for a few hours tied with the Padres for
10:18the best record in baseball
