Joshua says he's ready to take care of business, hopes Paul leaves ring safely

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul hold their final press conference on Dec. 17, 2025 in Miami ahead of this week's eight round boxing match between the former heavyweight champ and the YouTuber turned boxer. Joshua, 36, said he was focusing on the positive of the event but was ready to take care of business in the ring and appeared concerned for 28-year-old Paul's safety, adding that he hoped the American will leave the ring safely. The fight is being billed as 'Jake vs. Joshua: Judgment Day' and will take place at Kaseya Center, home arena of the NBA's Miami Heat, and will stream live on Netflix. The fighters will wear 10-ounce gloves.

01:04and anything can happen.
01:05You hope your opponent leaves the ring safely,
01:09but if they don't, you still have to go to bed at night
01:13knowing that you've just done your job, it wasn't personal.
01:16I saw what this meant.
01:18It's not even my biggest payday, it's not about money.
01:22For me, that's going to be amazing.
01:25It's going to be amazing.
01:26Thank MVP for the great opportunity.
01:29Yeah, absolutely.
01:31And rightfully so.
01:33It's smart on his part, but I believe he's locked in
01:36and knows that this could potentially be the biggest loss
01:39and will be the biggest loss of his career.
01:42And he has so much to lose in this fight,
01:44and that's what I plan on bringing to the table
01:47is the strategy behind this.
01:49I've got him in the corner,
01:50and I know that those nerves are going to kick in
01:52once he sees what I can do to him.
01:54No, but I mean, heavyweight.
01:55If you want to go for it, that's a big, big, big...
01:58Yeah, look, I mean, it is a big task, but I mean, if this fight...

02:24I went out to a show.
02:25I saw in the video there were people there outside the press conference
02:28saying, end this man, end this man.
02:30Yeah, you do hear it, but I remember.
02:32We don't focus on the negative.
02:33No, that's just a sentiment that people always think to you.
02:36They're just saying, good luck, do your best.
02:39You know, that's a great fight.
02:41I heard people say like,
02:42I'm not really into boxing, but I'm watching this fight.
02:45But no one's really coming up to me saying anything about Jake
02:49or they want me to knock him out.
02:51Just positive vibes, okay.

03:06and you stomp on the spider, I feel like for me it's...
