00:00Today we have a pair of over-the-ear headphones from Sony, the model WH-1000XM4s.

00:07This is going to come with both Google Assistant and Alexa compatible built-in.

00:13This is a wireless headset, it is Bluetooth compatible, and it has had noise-canceling features.

00:19So let's go ahead and get this open, see what we've got going on.

00:23Now to get the most out of it, there is an app that runs this headset.

00:27You can install that on both iOS's and Android devices.

00:33And we have our system manuals and whatnot in there.

00:37Here we have a really, really nice cloth case.

00:41It's semi-hard, which makes it a little bit safer for transport.

00:47And I love how the zipper tucks in there.

00:52Inside, we have the gem.

00:56Ooh, that's a nice little thing.

00:59A little extra headset connection for wired connection while on airplanes.

01:06And there's the connectors for that.

01:09So we've got a standard audio jack.

01:12We've got a USB to USB-C charger, which these are going to be charged through USB-C.

01:19And a unique folding design.

01:25I think I've seen that folding design.

01:27Right off the bat, this is very soft.

01:30That feels real plush.

01:33And over here, we have our custom setting, our power setting.

01:41That's our audio jack.

01:43And there's our C charger.

01:44And according to this diagram here, on the right ear headset, even though you can't see anything on this side,

01:57those are actually going to be your touch controls.

02:03So I'm going to get this charged up, read through the instructions, and then we can come back with my impressions on it.

02:10All right, so I've been using the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones for a while.

02:17Now, I used the mobile regular, just straight up Bluetooth, and they were a pretty good headset.

02:22They have really good noise canceling, and they have some really powerful features.

02:27But to get the most out of this headset, you're really going to want to use the actual Sony Connect.

02:35Now, the reason being is, if you allow it, it will recognize what settings you're using where.

02:43So if you go to the library, if you go to school, if you go on the bus or whatever,

02:47it will recognize when you were making certain changes to the headset, and will start making those automatically.

02:54Now, that's one of the big, powerful things about the app.

02:59Now, the headset itself, very, very lightweight.

03:03It's easy to forget you're wearing it, especially the noise canceling.

03:08It is active.

03:11A lot of noise canceling headphones will just say, hey, noise canceling,

03:14and they will count on the padding, the seal, to do everything.

03:20That's not the case with these.

03:22These have a very, very active noise canceling, almost completely eliminating all ambient sound,

03:29which can be dangerous.

03:31If you need sound, you can, of course, go into the settings and turn the noise canceling off,

03:39as well as there's a quick button here underneath Custom.

03:44One tap, and it'll turn the noise canceling off.

03:46Or, just simply place your palm on the right headset, and it will dampen the noise canceling.

03:55It'll let sound through.

03:57The music will still play.

03:58It will be a lowered volume, and will pump audio from outside into the headset.

04:04And just take your hand off.

04:06It goes back to the music.

04:07This is a really, really nice headset.

04:11It's an amazing sound.

04:14We have some really good bass with it, some really good high ends,

04:18and the battery life is absolutely amazing.

04:21I would really recommend this headset.
