00:07I'm simply sharing with you my opinion after using these for a few weeks

00:10so that you can make an informed buying decision.

00:13These are the Pioneer DJ HDJ-Q1

00:17and they're the Bluetooth version of these really good headphones.

00:22They come supplied in this box here.

00:24Picture of the product on the front, some little tiny icons across the bottom,

00:28some nice artwork on the side

00:31and then on this side here we've got some of the main features.

00:36High quality sounds mentioned, they're nice and durable.

00:40We've got a flexible monitoring style so you can rotate the earcups.

00:44I'll show you that in a short while.

00:45You can also use them wired or wireless

00:48and you've got up to 30 hours of battery life between charges.

00:53They're also a foldable design

00:55and the actual model number on these ones is the HDJ-Q1BT.

01:00The case stands for black.

01:02On the back here we've got some of the main specifications.

01:06We have got the fact that these use Bluetooth version 5.

01:10SBC and AAC codecs are compatible.

01:14The 30 hour battery life and that's approximately so up to 30 hours.

01:18They're a closed dynamic headphone with a 5 hertz to 30,000 hertz response

01:24and they weigh 250 grams without the cable.

01:29Now also of note you can get some optional colour customisation add-ons.

01:35You can buy these different coloured pads.

01:36They come with a matching cable.

01:38Nice if you want to personalise your headphones.

01:42They also come with a really cool cable.

01:44Nice coiled cable which I'll show you very shortly.

01:46So inside the box we get a quick start guide,

01:50instruction manual and some extra regulatory paperwork.

01:53Then we get a couple of cables.

01:55This one here is quite simply for charging the headphones.

01:59USB to micro USB.

02:01We get the audio cable.

02:03So this is a part coiled cable.

02:05Really important that this is part coiled.

02:08On this end here we've got the straight connector.

02:11This goes into the headphones themselves.

02:12It's got a little sort of locking mechanism on it.

02:15We've got the coiled part just here.

02:17Now when it's in its compact form it's 1.2 metres long.

02:21When you stretch the coil out you can get up to 1.8 metres away from your equipment.

02:26Really important if you're moving around maybe your turntables, mixing desk for example.

02:31And you need that freedom of movement.

02:33And then this end here, this is a right angled connector and you've also got a thread just

02:40here as well.

02:41So it's 3.5 millimetres but you can of course adapt this up to 6.35 millimetres.

02:47And I would have expected to see the adapter inside the box but there's no adapter.

02:51So if you want to change the size of this you'll need to purchase that separately.

02:57So nice quality cable included.

03:00And then we've got the headphones themselves in this nice stealthy black colourway.

03:04All black, all over.

03:06Looks really very, very nice.

03:08We've got some Pioneer DJ branding on the top here.

03:12We've got a little bit of padding on the underside.

03:15Would have liked to have seen a little bit more.

03:16But it's still ample, it's still very comfortable.

03:19The padding on the earcups is exceptional.

03:22Really very nice.

03:24Don't forget these are removable.

03:25So if you use them a lot and you get some wear and tear you can replace them.

03:30Or indeed if you do want to customise them you can purchase those optional colours.

03:35We've obviously got some rotation on all axis.

03:38And these also fold up so they're nice and compact for travelling with.

03:42As with all headphones we've got some extension on both sides for adjusting the size.

03:49They are nice and comfortable.

03:51Really lightweight especially considering this has got wireless technology inside as well.

03:57Now if we take a look at one of the earcups.

03:59We've got the input there for that 3.5mm cable.

04:03We've also got the charging port just here.

04:07And then we've got some power and control buttons for the volume on this side.

04:11So you can use them wired or wireless.

04:14Now when you're using them wired.

04:17Very very good audio quality.

04:19Nice deep bass.

04:20Really well controlled bass as well.

04:23Exceptional detail in the mid-tones and higher frequencies.

04:27And they just sound awesome.

04:28These are workhorse headphones.

04:31They really can take a lot of use.

04:34I love the fact also that you can of course replace the earpads.

04:38Now in wireless mode I wouldn't necessarily use them in wireless mode if you are doing some sort of performance, mixing or an event.

04:49But if you're just sort of sitting back listening to some music, relaxing.

04:53Then of course using them wirelessly is much more convenient.

04:56And I've found the wireless connectivity to be extremely good.

05:01And not much degradation in audio quality either.

05:05Yes, the audio does drop off if you try and go out of range.

05:09You've got that Bluetooth limitation of range between this and the device you're listening to.

05:14But if you stick with these close to the device, you get a nice stable connection and a really good audio quality in wireless mode as well.

05:22The battery life is pretty decent considering how lightweight these are and how compact they are.

05:28So can I recommend them?

05:29Definitely can.

05:30They're a superb pair of headphones and they look the part and sound awesome as well.
