00:00:00Welcome to my secret hiding spot.
00:00:03Boys, good luck finding me here.
00:00:13We're about to play a six-day game of hide-and-seek across the UK.
00:00:16Right now, we're the Seekers, and we're starting in London.
00:00:18Well, I had four hours to get to...
00:00:21Well, I mean, I'm not going to tell you where I am.
00:00:24It's hide-and-seek.
00:00:25I hide, and then you don't...
00:00:27You don't know where I am.
00:00:28You have to figure it out.
00:00:30Welcome to our six-day game of hide-and-seek across the United Kingdom.
00:00:34The goal of this game is simple.
00:00:36Hide for as long as you can without being found.
00:00:39Right now, Ben and I are starting in London as the Seekers,
00:00:41while the first hider, Adam, had four hours to find a hiding spot anywhere else in the UK.
00:00:46In order to find him, we'll have to piece together information about his location
00:00:49using these 62 questions in our question book.
00:00:53Adam has to answer these questions truthfully,
00:00:55but in exchange, he'll get to draw cards from the Hider deck,
00:00:58giving him big advantages like time bonuses or curses that he can use to slow us down.
00:01:03Once we find Adam, positions will rotate, and it will be someone else's turn to hide.
00:01:07After the end of six days, the player with the longest single hiding run wins.
00:01:11We'll go over all the nitty-gritty rules later.
00:01:14For now, Adam's clock is ticking, so Ben and I need to look at our map
00:01:17and figure out what to ask so we can start moving in Adam's direction.
00:01:21What does the UK look like, Ben?
00:01:22Uh, Adam, Adam is somewhere in here.
00:01:25I think he's...
00:01:27...here.
00:01:28It is 11 a.m., which means that we should be expecting our first question any minute now.
00:01:34I would say number one thing that I'm worried about is that they figure out too early that I'm on the coast.
00:01:40There are a few different questions they could ask that could tell them that,
00:01:44so I think we just really have to hope that they wait a little bit before they ask anything in that realm.
00:01:50Let's go into town, shall we?
00:01:52We should probably ask a question because we're burning time.
00:01:54Yes, okay. Um, well, there's many questions we can ask. We've got our...
00:01:57In fact, we've got our little investigation book with all of our questions.
00:02:03So, before we ask our first question, I should explain what kind of questions we can ask.
00:02:07In this game, our questions are broken up into six simple tools.
00:02:11Matching questions allow us to check whether something about our location is the same or different from Adam's,
00:02:16like is his region the same as ours, is his nearest commercial airport the same as ours, things like that.
00:02:20Measuring questions are similar, but they allow us to check whether something is closer to or further from Adam than it is from us,
00:02:27like is he closer to an international border, is he closer to a coastline, etc.
00:02:31The thermometer allows us to ask whether we're hotter or colder to Adam's location after we've traveled a certain distance.
00:02:36The radar can check whether Adam is or isn't within a certain distance of us.
00:02:40And photo questions allow us to ask Adam for a photo of something, like his train platform or the tallest mountain he can see.
00:02:46Finally, we've got tentacles, a special tool for dealing with denser areas that we can explain later.
00:02:52There's a lot of ways we can approach this, but we've got to figure out a strategy quickly.
00:02:56I don't know exactly what, because we're kind of starting in a weird place where we're like all the way at the bottom of the map.
00:03:02Yeah, but there is plenty west and south of here.
00:03:05I mean, this would be risky, but we could be like, are you in the same country as us?
00:03:09Or is it, is it country? Is England a country?
00:03:11Yeah.
00:03:12What is the UK?
00:03:13It's a country of countries.
00:03:14Okay, that is confusing.
00:03:17If he is in another country, it's almost certainly Wales.
00:03:20It's almost certainly Wales.
00:03:21Because he had four hours.
00:03:23He could theoretically be in Scotland, but only the tiniest bit.
00:03:28It either tells us immediately that he's almost certainly in Wales, or it knocks out all of Wales, which is still pretty good.
00:03:35That's pretty good, yeah.
00:03:36It's a risky first question.
00:03:38Especially considering that I think we both agree his first instinct would be to go to Wales, because Wales is cool.
00:03:43Wales is cool.
00:03:43And England is?
00:03:45Way less cool than Wales.
00:03:47All right.
00:03:47Look, I like starting with a risky question.
00:03:51Let's ask him if he's in the same country as us.
00:03:53Are you in England, Adam Chase?
00:03:55Oh, folks, we have gotten our first question.
00:04:02They would like to know if I'm in the same country as them.
00:04:06Tell you what, I was really tempted to go to either Wales or Scotland, but I thought that this would be one of the first questions they asked.
00:04:15And so I resisted that urge.
00:04:17I am, in fact, in jolly old England.
00:04:20Okay, we've got our answer.
00:04:21Are you ready?
00:04:22He is in England.
00:04:23Oh, I don't want to stay in England longer.
00:04:26Look, we can forget about Scotland.
00:04:28We can forget about Wales.
00:04:30England.
00:04:31Okay, so we probably want something to give us direction soon.
00:04:34Let me take out the map again.
00:04:36We're right about here.
00:04:37I would love to be able to split the map kind of diagonally like this.
00:04:41So you're thinking like a thermometer style thing.
00:04:44Yeah, I think if we could find the right station to go to, of course, and I don't know if we've explained this yet, but there's currently a tube strike in London, which is epic.
00:04:54We support unions, except for right now when they are screwing us because they're in cahoots with Team Adam.
00:05:01And now we need to draw our cards.
00:05:06Because they asked a matching question, I get to look at the top three cards and then pick my favorite.
00:05:10And awesome.
00:05:14Awesome way to start the season.
00:05:23So really quick, this card that Adam just pulled is a curse.
00:05:26This is a special kind of card that Adam can keep in his hand and play against us whenever he thinks it would be most advantageous.
00:05:33The one he just pulled prevents Ben and I from asking any more questions until we've successfully completed a mini game of hide and seek ourselves.
00:05:40Curses, though, always have a casting cost.
00:05:43This card can only be played when Ben and I are off transit and away from a train station.
00:05:47In this game, choosing the right curses and casting them at the right time can be the key to getting a winning run.
00:05:53Curse of the Hide and Seek Ception is not a great curse.
00:05:59I think that it is probably ultimately better than a 10-minute bonus.
00:06:05So I am going to keep it.
00:06:07Let's keep going.
00:06:14That's town.
00:06:16All right.
00:06:17For inexplicable reasons, we've walked over here.
00:06:19We've walked over here to give you a little bit of variety.
00:06:22We need to go to a station where if we ask if we're hotter or colder, it splits the map in a diagonal.
00:06:30Peterborough is 50 minutes.
00:06:33Okay.
00:06:33We have eight minutes until that train.
00:06:35Okay, okay.
00:06:36And we're on the quickest station.
00:06:38You're freaking me out.
00:06:39Okay.
00:06:41Calmly.
00:06:42I don't know.
00:06:43My quick hot take, Ben, is I think it is likelier than not that he is north of here.
00:06:49Yes.
00:06:49Well, because we're at the bottom.
00:06:51And there's more options.
00:06:53Before we leave, is there a radar we can do that would light?
00:06:57We could do like a 100-mile radar or something.
00:07:00Let's do a 100-mile radar first.
00:07:01So we do a 100-mile radar, and if it's not a hit, we don't get on this train?
00:07:05If it's a hit, we don't get on this train.
00:07:07Okay.
00:07:07What do you guys have now?
00:07:08I'd say let's do that.
00:07:10And then go to the platform?
00:07:11Yeah, let's go to the platform.
00:07:13Okay.
00:07:14Let's do it.
00:07:17Is it the train to Edinburgh?
00:07:19It is.
00:07:20Okay.
00:07:20So we've done a 100-mile radar just to see if he is like down in this general area because
00:07:26we can do it quickly.
00:07:27If it's a hit, then...
00:07:30We get scared and we bail from this train.
00:07:33We stay here because he's not all the way up there.
00:07:35Okay.
00:07:36We should get an answer any second now.
00:07:37Let's maybe start walking.
00:07:39And folks, we have got question two.
00:07:43100-mile radar.
00:07:45Unfortunately, I would say that that is a pretty smart question.
00:07:48I am not within 100 miles of them.
00:07:53But knowing that knocks out a ton of area.
00:07:57So I would say that it was a smart question.
00:08:04Okay.
00:08:05Radar questions.
00:08:06I get to look at the top two.
00:08:10Ooh.
00:08:11Okay.
00:08:14Oh.
00:08:16These are both good.
00:08:18I think I have to take the veto.
00:08:21We're committing then, right?
00:08:23Miss, we get on.
00:08:24Miss, we get on.
00:08:26It's a miss, we get on the train, we go north.
00:08:28It's legit time.
00:08:29It's miss.
00:08:30Okay, we're getting on.
00:08:31All right.
00:08:32He's far away.
00:08:33Let's go north.
00:08:34No?
00:08:35Okay.
00:08:37Oh.
00:08:39I guess we're not getting on.
00:08:40So they do not want us to get on that train.
00:08:43The guy, he screams so loud.
00:08:46He said very loudly.
00:08:47He's an agent of attack.
00:08:49I thought we were going to die.
00:08:51I still like the move of going up to Peterborough with the radar.
00:08:54And we got to wait like 20 minutes.
00:08:56So if we're going to kill this time anyway, we might as well ask questions.
00:09:00Here's a pitch.
00:09:03Coastline.
00:09:03Because the thing about the peninsula, she's skinny.
00:09:09So if he was closer to the coastline, that would cover basically the whole peninsula.
00:09:13What would it look like if, yeah, what would it look like if he's further?
00:09:17Because then that would maybe exclude it.
00:09:19If he was further, then it would exclude the whole peninsula.
00:09:23Except for some very tiny areas.
00:09:25If he's closer, then that's less useful, at least right now.
00:09:30But it still cuts off a lot of the truth.
00:09:32It's a good question.
00:09:33I'd say let's hit it.
00:09:35All right.
00:09:35Do it?
00:09:36Do it.
00:09:36Something?
00:09:37Yeah.
00:09:38Okay.
00:09:39We got a decision to make here.
00:09:41They've just asked if I am closer to or further from a coastline than them.
00:09:46Now, here is the thing.
00:09:48I could use my veto on that.
00:09:51But if I do, if I were them, I would then request a photo of the largest body of water
00:09:58I can see.
00:09:58And then they would see that I'm fully on the ocean.
00:10:03If I decide to go ahead and answer this question, they'll know I'm kind of near the coast, but
00:10:09not necessarily that close.
00:10:14I think I answer this.
00:10:16Look, you can get mad at me about not using the veto if you want, okay?
00:10:23But I really do think, I think that if I veto this, it makes them too suspicious.
00:10:28And they ask me for a picture of my largest body of water.
00:10:31Now that question's out of the way.
00:10:34And if they ask for a largest body of water, veto.
00:10:37I don't know.
00:10:41Okay, he's closer.
00:10:42That is annoying, although expected.
00:10:44Adam, we're coming for you.
00:10:46What do we do now?
00:10:47Do we still go to Peterborough?
00:10:47I still don't know what to do.
00:10:48We could go to Peterborough.
00:10:50We could go north and ask a thermometer and try and cut off the penzinsula.
00:10:55We've been calling it the penzansula, the penzinsula, which is not a real term.
00:11:00It should be.
00:11:01But it should be.
00:11:02That's our train.
00:11:03Should we get on?
00:11:03Yeah, let's go.
00:11:06All right.
00:11:07Okay.
00:11:08Let's draw our cards.
00:11:12Curse of the Drained Brain.
00:11:14Choose three questions in different categories.
00:11:17The Seekers cannot ask those questions for the rest of your run.
00:11:20Casting cost?
00:11:21Discard your hand.
00:11:23Okay.
00:11:23Okay.
00:11:24Curse of the Gilded Inquiry.
00:11:32Secretly choose one question.
00:11:34If the Seekers ask that question after this Curse is played, the question is automatically
00:11:38vetoed and you instantly draw and keep three extra cards.
00:11:42Casting cost?
00:11:43The Seekers' next question is free.
00:11:44I think I go Gilded Inquiry because with my veto and this, it's like having two vetoes.
00:11:52Curse of the Drained Brain is kind of like having three vetoes, but they all have to be
00:11:56said beforehand and they're known.
00:12:00Okay.
00:12:00I'm going to play Gilded Inquiry right now on the coastline question.
00:12:07Sam.
00:12:09We've got a curse.
00:12:11Oh, God.
00:12:11Curse of the Gilded Inquiry.
00:12:14He knows we're here.
00:12:17He could definitely guess the 50 mile.
00:12:21I don't know.
00:12:22I don't know.
00:12:23I think that like, I would be pretty shocked if he put it on the 50 mile thermometer, which
00:12:28is the worst thermometer.
00:12:31Yeah.
00:12:32So we ask it anyway?
00:12:33I think, yeah, I think that that's, it's a really good Curse though.
00:12:38Yeah, it is.
00:12:39All right.
00:12:40Gordon, the train to Peterborough.
00:12:41Oh, are they going somewhere?
00:12:52If they are going somewhere, where?
00:12:54There's like three completely different regions that I could be in.
00:12:58I mean, I guess it's possible that you're just going to take a guess.
00:13:00It looks like they're going north.
00:13:03They still haven't eliminated that area southwest though.
00:13:06I guess they'll have to do that later.
00:13:08We will see.
00:13:08We will see.
00:13:08We will see.
00:13:08We will see.
00:13:08We will see.
00:13:11So, we're just looking at our thermometer options here.
00:13:18The train is moving.
00:13:19We're on it.
00:13:21I just wanted to mention.
00:13:22We're on our way.
00:13:23I guess you can't see.
00:13:24We don't have a window, but we're on our way.
00:13:26Here's what we're going to do.
00:13:27Sam, let me tell you.
00:13:28We're going to start a 50 mile thermometer once we're passing through Hatfield.
00:13:32Once we do this thermometer, we'll have a pretty good sense if he's north or if he's south.
00:13:39We're on our way.
00:13:39We're on our way.
00:13:40We're on our way.
00:13:42I didn't know that was what I was getting.
00:13:45It was like a barbecue chicken cook this year, I guess.
00:13:46Let's really get in there.
00:13:48I won't.
00:13:49I won't.
00:13:50I won't.
00:13:51I won't.
00:13:52The camera's touching my food.
00:13:53It's not touching it.
00:13:54Sounds amazing.
00:13:57This is crazy.
00:14:01It's like a totally different texture.
00:14:08It's sort of more like whipped cream.
00:14:11What are they up to?
00:14:15Okay, I'm going to look into...
00:14:19Can you find him?
00:14:21Yeah, there he is.
00:14:23All right.
00:14:24We're ending our thermometer here a little bit before Peterborough.
00:14:28If we do find out that we're hotter, then we might want to stay on until late.
00:14:33Yeah.
00:14:34It's stressful.
00:14:38I mean, come on, we have to go on the Ferris wheel, right?
00:14:44Okay, they have finished their thermometer.
00:14:52I could veto this, but if I did, they could just do like a shorter thermometer while they
00:15:02keep going up.
00:15:03So I don't actually think that that's worth it.
00:15:05I don't like it when they do good guesses.
00:15:08But they're not on a Ferris wheel.
00:15:13So who's really winning right now?
00:15:15Okay.
00:15:16Do you want to stay on?
00:15:17I think it makes sense.
00:15:18I think we should stay on until late.
00:15:22It might be her tomorrow.
00:15:23Thanks.
00:15:24Thanks.
00:15:25All right.
00:15:26It's time to start looking for-
00:15:27I suffer the slings of error.
00:15:28I suffer the slings of error.
00:15:29Okay.
00:15:30You want to stay on?
00:15:31I think it makes sense.
00:15:32I think we should stay on until late.
00:15:34It might be her tomorrow.
00:15:36Thanks.
00:15:37All right.
00:15:38It's time to start looking for-
00:15:42Why suffer the slings and errors of outrageous fortune when Zoltar is here to guide you?
00:16:01Oh my gosh.
00:16:03Zoltar.
00:16:04Am I going to win?
00:16:08I am Zoltar at your service.
00:16:12Hi, Zoltar.
00:16:13Listen closely to my instructions.
00:16:15Okay.
00:16:16Hard work pays off over time.
00:16:19Okay.
00:16:20The laziness pays off right now.
00:16:23Sure.
00:16:24Read my advice.
00:16:25Relax and enjoy yourself today.
00:16:28You deserve it.
00:16:29Okay.
00:16:30Okay.
00:16:31I am wise like the owl, patiently waiting for the right time to react to any event.
00:16:36To me, this means that I was right to save my Vita.
00:16:40I'm wise like the owl, and I'm patiently waiting.
00:16:49We're gonna clean up.
00:16:51We have Prairie on the map now.
00:16:53Who could have anticipated?
00:16:55No one's gonna be anticipated.
00:16:56This is crazy.
00:16:57Putting the map away.
00:16:58We're gonna look at our phones.
00:16:59Okay.
00:17:00I think that.
00:17:01I think that.
00:17:02I think we're cooking with gas.
00:17:03I think we might be.
00:17:04I think we might be.
00:17:05I mean, the problem is the map gets like a little, it's like a little messy.
00:17:19It's a little, it's a little messier than I would like.
00:17:21He couldn't be in the Norwich area, right?
00:17:24Well, no.
00:17:25Theoretically, he could be.
00:17:26He could be.
00:17:27Yeah.
00:17:28I just, I don't think, I'm choosing to not think about that.
00:17:33Honestly, if he's there, we're done-zo.
00:17:36We're GG.
00:17:37Game's over right now.
00:17:38Yeah.
00:17:39Probably.
00:17:40Honestly, we don't even worry about it.
00:17:42They are approaching quicker than I would like.
00:17:49I think we gotta start looking for hiding spots.
00:17:53I do not think that hiding down here by the sort of boardwalk is the move.
00:18:01So I think we need to go up more into the town.
00:18:06And I have awesome news about how we get further into town,
00:18:11which is that we take the tramway.
00:18:31Okay.
00:18:32Let's take a gander.
00:18:35Great.
00:18:36I mean, I would love to get a photo from him.
00:18:43Could be fun.
00:18:44Sooner rather than later.
00:18:45Especially because we have the time to analyze it.
00:18:47What kind of photo are you craving, Sam?
00:18:50Five villains is a classic.
00:18:52Biggest body of water in your zone is interesting because maybe we could see if he's on the coast.
00:18:59Yeah, but usually you just see the water.
00:19:01It's sometimes hard to...
00:19:02But it must include either both sides of the body of water or the horizon.
00:19:06No, I've never felt that.
00:19:07I can't remember any of it since I put up in the back.
00:19:09No, it's...
00:19:10Do you want to just ask for five buildings?
00:19:12A photo of five buildings?
00:19:13Might as well.
00:19:14They're so cheap.
00:19:15Yeah.
00:19:16Let's ask for a photo of five buildings.
00:19:17Well, they have asked for a photo of five buildings.
00:19:22I'm glad that I had left the beach for this because I think that the buildings are going to be a lot more generic in this part of town.
00:19:33I think that what I want to do is find, like, the most rural-looking buildings.
00:19:40Because where I am is actually, like, relatively big compared to the places that it's nearest to.
00:19:47Maybe this...
00:19:49I'm allowed to blur text, but even this clearly communicates that I'm in a place with, like, a main street and stuff.
00:19:58Now, this feels pretty generic.
00:20:00It's like, where's that?
00:20:02That could be anywhere, especially when you crop it in.
00:20:06Like, I think that's about as good as we're going to do.
00:20:11And let's draw our cards.
00:20:15Well, a card.
00:20:17It's a photo.
00:20:18We only get one card.
00:20:27All right, folks.
00:20:28We've got a photo.
00:20:30Let's see.
00:20:32That looks like England.
00:20:33I mean, those are, like, row houses.
00:20:38That implies to me not too small.
00:20:40It's pretty cloudy looking.
00:20:42Whereas, like, here, there's some new sky.
00:20:45But I feel like you're more likely to see those, like, that narrow coast.
00:20:48No.
00:20:49True.
00:20:50Okay, I'm back on the beach.
00:20:53Now, look.
00:20:54I have to be honest with you about something.
00:20:56There is a castle here.
00:20:57But, but, but, but, in my defense, there's a castle almost everywhere in England, okay?
00:21:09I know I always hide near castles, but this, I didn't do it this time.
00:21:13I didn't even realize there was a castle here when I first looked here.
00:21:17I just, I found out later.
00:21:19All right, let's go check it out.
00:21:20All right.
00:21:21We've been waffling for a while.
00:21:22We're almost to Leeds.
00:21:23We want to play a thermometer.
00:21:24We want to split the maps that we know which coast to go to.
00:21:39But it's just, we just can't quite make a thermometer work.
00:21:42But the thing we could do is we could just do the half mile and walk it.
00:21:46Like, get to Leeds and just walk.
00:21:48Yeah.
00:21:49A direction.
00:21:50Yeah.
00:21:51We'll even start at a half mile out of the station and then just like walk a little bit
00:21:55north or south to get the exact angle.
00:21:57So this basically works if we do it at this roundabout here.
00:22:01Okay.
00:22:02Then we can do some minor tweaking on foot.
00:22:04Yeah.
00:22:05What if?
00:22:10What if this is?
00:22:11You love the what if game.
00:22:12What?
00:22:13My game is I do whatever I want.
00:22:14Oh, wait, we're doing it.
00:22:15So we're doing it.
00:22:16We're doing it.
00:22:17Do it.
00:22:21Okay.
00:22:22They started a half mile thermometer.
00:22:27My guess is that they're going to use this to cut the country into east and west.
00:22:31I'm thinking it might be time for a veto.
00:22:34They can do the same thing with a three mile thermometer.
00:22:39But it'll be annoying.
00:22:42And then they'll have used their three mile thermometer.
00:22:45So I kind of think this might be our moment.
00:22:49I've been patiently waiting.
00:22:51But I think that now my owl like wisdom is telling me that this might be our moment.
00:22:58That's so hard.
00:22:59I made a week to start a day.
00:23:01Yeah.
00:23:02Just to go to the H&M algorithm.
00:23:04That makes sense.
00:23:05All right.
00:23:06In order to get this thermometer to exactly the beautiful angle that we need.
00:23:12We want to go to the H&M.
00:23:13Okay.
00:23:14It's not a sponsor.
00:23:15But I will say Credit H&M, they're chosen a great spot to end a thermometer.
00:23:23What is Leeds known for?
00:23:27Is this where the Beatles are from?
00:23:29No.
00:23:29Oh.
00:23:30This is like the first we've seen England.
00:23:34It's hard to walk and use binoculars at the same time.
00:23:37They don't tell you that.
00:23:38This looks like Britain.
00:23:40You kind of have the tenants of every British main street
00:23:43with like a Gregg's, a Cafe Nero.
00:23:46There's a restaurant here called Slug and Lettuce.
00:23:48A Tesco.
00:23:49That kind of describes British family.
00:23:51Yeah.
00:23:52Is that the H&M?
00:23:54Sam, I found it.
00:23:56Right?
00:23:56Wait, hold on.
00:23:58No.
00:23:59I'm doing this good again.
00:24:00Do you want to declare it?
00:24:01Sam, I found the H&M.
00:24:02Okay.
00:24:03Do you want to declare it?
00:24:05Yeah.
00:24:06All right.
00:24:07Well, the thermometer has come.
00:24:13I think it's time to veto.
00:24:17Now, it's possible that they can basically re-ask this.
00:24:21The three-mile thermometer, but I think that'll be inconvenient for them.
00:24:28And if they do it, then they'll have used up three of their four thermometers.
00:24:34Do we have an answer?
00:24:36Okay.
00:24:37This son of a bitch has hit us with a veto question.
00:24:39Oh.
00:24:40That is not a...
00:24:42On the one hand, on the other hand, we're on to him.
00:24:46Or he just realized this was a good question to veto.
00:24:49Or we're on to him.
00:24:52Let's look at if there's any kind of three-mile thermometer that could get us maybe a similar...
00:24:57Well, that's kind of what we were looking at before.
00:24:59Yeah.
00:25:00I mean, there is a train to cross-gate, but I don't think that gets us quite the angle that we want.
00:25:04Maybe let's walk back towards the station.
00:25:07Sam, cross-gate still works.
00:25:12Does it, though?
00:25:13So there's like a little bit of a slice.
00:25:15Here, let's cross.
00:25:16Yeah.
00:25:16It's not as perfect, but it's...
00:25:19Well, we can do it relatively efficiently now because there is a quick transfer back.
00:25:27So maybe it's worth it.
00:25:28This geography is a little awkward, but I think it's as good as we're going to do right now.
00:25:31So let's get on this train to cross-gates and let's start our three-mile thermometer now.
00:25:38We're really burning through these.
00:25:50It's pretty cool here.
00:25:57Let me come.
00:25:58Let me come.
00:25:58Let me come.
00:26:01Man, it is really beautiful up here.
00:26:07Okay.
00:26:08Well, as predicted, they're doing the three-mile thermometer.
00:26:12But that definitely is going to have taken them a bit.
00:26:18I think that it will have slowed them down enough that it was worth it to do it,
00:26:22especially because they don't have good thermometers left.
00:26:25They only have one left now.
00:26:26So, I still say worth it.
00:26:33Man, I really wish he had not vetoed that half-mile.
00:26:37That is...
00:26:40Yep.
00:26:41It hurts.
00:26:42All right.
00:26:44Sam, we made it to cross-gates.
00:26:46We just got to get a little bit north.
00:26:47Yeah, that train was late, so we only have 10 minutes.
00:26:49And this thermometer.
00:26:50All right.
00:26:51So I think we should follow this road up a bit.
00:26:53Whatever takes us north.
00:26:54Yeah.
00:26:56Okay, we end it here.
00:26:58Let's end it here.
00:26:59The geography is a little weird, but we'll probably get rid of the sliver somehow.
00:27:03Somehow.
00:27:05Okay.
00:27:06Committing?
00:27:06Committing.
00:27:07Let's get on that train back.
00:27:09Okay.
00:27:10Hey, if that does it for us, Ben, that'll...
00:27:12It's not going to be...
00:27:13He's not in the sliver.
00:27:14That'll be the blunder.
00:27:17His ass is not in the sliver.
00:27:19The blunder of all time.
00:27:27Come on.
00:27:31What direction are you going?
00:27:35Well, damn it.
00:27:37Why don't they guess wrong, sometimes?
00:27:52Let's draw our stupid cards.
00:27:59Curse of the Prosperous Home.
00:28:01Expand the radius of your hiding zone by 50%.
00:28:03More time bonus.
00:28:18Well, I'd love the castle.
00:28:22Let's go back in and down.
00:28:24All right, Sam, we got an answer.
00:28:25What is it?
00:28:25You ready?
00:28:26Are you emotionally prepared to receive this information?
00:28:28Hotter.
00:28:30East coast.
00:28:31The east coast.
00:28:32Which means that the sliver is not a problem.
00:28:34The problem is that this is still kind of a weird slice of map remaining.
00:28:40Yeah.
00:28:41And a lot of the lines to the coast are, like, pretty big commitments.
00:28:44We can ask if he's in our same region, because our region contains most of the whole stuff.
00:28:52Is this our train?
00:28:53Yeah.
00:28:53I don't want to go to the coast yet.
00:28:58We need to figure out, like, which section of coast he's on before we actually go there.
00:29:04I don't know that we're going to have a more useful time for the region question than now.
00:29:07No.
00:29:08And it's also, like, if it's a hit, huge.
00:29:11Huge.
00:29:12Oh, my God.
00:29:12You know what's in our map?
00:29:14Saltburn.
00:29:15You ever watch Saltburn?
00:29:16It seemed too freaky.
00:29:18Maybe he's getting freaky over somewhere.
00:29:21I know.
00:29:22I gotta go freezing.
00:29:24One piece of chips and one piece of cheese, yeah?
00:29:26Yes, my kid.
00:29:27And it's very clean.
00:29:29Is this the right?
00:29:33Is this the right now?
00:29:35Everyone knows.
00:29:37Certainly not me.
00:29:39I like region.
00:29:42I like region, and if it's a no, we start going north, and we use our 10-mile thermometer
00:29:47to exclude everything south.
00:29:50I'm not convinced that's worth it, but I like region first, at least.
00:29:55All right, let's do region.
00:29:57What?
00:29:57It's an old thing.
00:29:59Please find the gap.
00:30:00All right, we're asking same region.
00:30:02Currently, we are in Yorkshire and the Humber.
00:30:06Adam, are you in Yorkshire and the Humber?
00:30:09Only time to tell.
00:30:12Well, I would say that that's not great, because I am in the same region as them.
00:30:37I don't know.
00:30:43I've got the answer.
00:30:43What is it?
00:30:47Bingo.
00:30:47It's a hit?
00:30:48It's a hit.
00:30:50It's a hit.
00:30:51It's a hit.
00:30:51It's a hit.
00:30:52Spotted ya.
00:30:53Spotted ya.
00:30:53Okay, this is good.
00:30:54This is good.
00:30:55We're making good time here.
00:30:56Adam, wait, no, no, no.
00:30:57First, cut to Adam spiraling.
00:30:59I want to see Adam spiraling.
00:31:00Adam, I see you spiraling.
00:31:02Well, shoot.
00:31:08So, we know we want to go.
00:31:16Well, we still don't know where we want to go.
00:31:17But we've got a small map.
00:31:19We've got it.
00:31:20It's just this region, and we've already cut off a huge chunk of it anyway.
00:31:24We need a genius question, Ben.
00:31:27So, it's like he's either around this, like, Middlesbrough area, or whole.
00:31:36And we kind of need to know, because once we go down the line, we'll just have to back.
00:31:41I don't think we can quite commit to going to one of those two yet.
00:31:45Okay, so I'm going to let you in on a little secret.
00:31:48Ben and I are potentially about to make a huge mistake.
00:31:51If you didn't just catch that, we seem to think that Middlesbrough and the surrounding
00:31:55lines are in our region and still in play.
00:31:58The thing is, they're not.
00:31:59Even this line that goes down to Whitby, which does enter the remaining map, wouldn't be valid.
00:32:03The trains don't run often enough for any of these stations to be used as hiding zones
00:32:07under our rules.
00:32:08And to raise the stakes here, Middlesbrough is basically completely disconnected from
00:32:11the parts of our map that are in play.
00:32:13That means that if we mistakenly decide to go there, we're liable to lose hours for nothing.
00:32:18Now, back to our strategizing.
00:32:21I bet he's in salt burn or something.
00:32:24I bet his freaky ass is in salt burn.
00:32:27I fear in my afternoons.
00:32:29I think we might, but it's just still a question of what is the best way to move.
00:32:35Is there any way to use a thermometer to cut it through here?
00:32:39You would need to, like...
00:32:42If we could maybe, like, go down that line or go up that line.
00:32:46Like, if we went up that line from York, we could very easily do that thermometer.
00:32:51It's just risky.
00:32:52Yeah.
00:32:52I mean, I don't hate that because that is, like, clean.
00:32:57So, I mean, we could get on this train all the way to Middlesbrough.
00:33:00If we basically YOLO it towards Middlesbrough, that is the only way we can ask a clean thermometer that cuts the map in two.
00:33:12We just might be going the wrong direction.
00:33:14We're going to waste a lot more time, I think, with messiness.
00:33:18Because it really seems like we need to get rid of the Middlesbrough cluster.
00:33:22I think that that is the way we can do it.
00:33:23And I don't have an idea how to do that except get on the train.
00:33:25So, one more epic move.
00:33:26One more epic move never hurt anybody, right?
00:33:29Let's get to platform 16 while we make final thoughts.
00:33:33I guess let's draw our cards.
00:33:36Things are not looking awesome.
00:33:42Curse of the Gambler's Feet.
00:33:43For the next hour, Seekers must roll a die before they take any steps in any direction.
00:33:48They may take that many steps before rolling again.
00:33:50Casting cost, roll a die.
00:33:52If it's an even number, this curse has no effect.
00:33:56It's a good one.
00:33:57A classic.
00:34:02Curse of the Five-Minute King.
00:34:04Remove all five-minute bonuses from the deck for the rest of your run.
00:34:07After doing so, you must reshuffle the deck.
00:34:10Casting cost, discard two five-minute bonus cards.
00:34:13Here's the thing.
00:34:20Gambler's Feet is funny.
00:34:22It doesn't actually do that much to slow them down.
00:34:25Curse of the Five-Minute King.
00:34:26It only makes the deck marginally bigger and I need two five-minute bonuses.
00:34:29I think I take the ten-minute bonus
00:34:31and I use it to cast the Curse of the Prosperous Home.
00:34:36Curse of the Prosperous Home requires discarding 20 minutes of time bonus.
00:34:41I'm going to discard them
00:34:42and cast this curse,
00:34:46expanding my hiding area.
00:34:49Now we really have to find a good place to hide.
00:34:52We have received an SMS text message, Ben.
00:34:59He has cursed us with the Curse of the Prosperous Home.
00:35:02It doesn't do anything to us yet,
00:35:04but it means he's got a big old, faddle hiding zone,
00:35:09which is going to make the endgame harder.
00:35:11It just...
00:35:12Let's get to the platform.
00:35:13We can at least waffle for 20 minutes until we get to York
00:35:16without necessarily committing too much.
00:35:18The only situation where this is bad
00:35:20is where we're going the wrong direction,
00:35:23but then after that,
00:35:25like, we'll have a much cleaner amount.
00:35:27I can't think of a better move.
00:35:42Okay, so we're just going to have to start the thermometer like here
00:35:46and end it like here,
00:35:47and then we get our perfect, beautiful line.
00:35:50It would be really funny if he doesn't sell it, Ben.
00:35:52And it's probably pretty, right?
00:35:54Actually, I'm checking whether we'd be able to see the ocean.
00:35:58Do you want to ask for a photo?
00:36:00Do we have 20...
00:36:01How long is this right?
00:36:02We'd be in York just under 20 minutes.
00:36:06I think it'd be fine
00:36:07because we're going to start it outside of York,
00:36:08but we need to ask now.
00:36:10Let's ask for the biggest body of water.
00:36:12I think we should at least be able to tell
00:36:15if he's not on the ocean.
00:36:17Probably.
00:36:18Should we do it?
00:36:19Do it. Do it now.
00:36:22Ha, ha, ha.
00:36:24Ha, ha, ha, ha.
00:36:26Ha, and in fact, ha, ha.
00:36:29They have requested a photo
00:36:31of my biggest body of water.
00:36:34As you may remember,
00:36:36due to the curse of the gilded inquiry,
00:36:39that question is automatically vetoed,
00:36:42and I get to draw and keep three cards.
00:36:46Folks, this rules for us.
00:36:52Oh, Sam.
00:36:55Oh, no.
00:36:57Oh.
00:37:02That, that...
00:37:03Okay, but hold on.
00:37:05Sam.
00:37:06Look.
00:37:09It is.
00:37:10It's a lot of cards you just got.
00:37:12Yeah, he did just get three cards
00:37:13and our question vetoed.
00:37:15It's interesting that that's the question that he chose.
00:37:19Yeah.
00:37:22I don't think it necessarily implies
00:37:23that he is on the coast.
00:37:24No, but it's just interesting.
00:37:27Now, let's get our cards.
00:37:28Let's see.
00:37:2815-minute bonus.
00:37:34Great start.
00:37:3710-minute bonus.
00:37:39Fine.
00:37:42And the Curse of the Soothsayer.
00:37:45Curse of the Soothsayer.
00:37:46For the rest of the round,
00:37:47you may choose to predict the next question
00:37:49after each question is asked.
00:37:51If you are right, you earn triple rewards.
00:37:53If you are wrong, you earn no reward.
00:37:55Casting cost?
00:37:56Discard a curse.
00:37:59Pretty good.
00:38:01Pretty good.
00:38:08So, wait, Ben.
00:38:15Salt burn actually isn't in that region.
00:38:19Salt burn isn't in that region?
00:38:21No.
00:38:21What do you mean?
00:38:23The region ends here.
00:38:25So, none of that line is in.
00:38:29The only bit that is in this line.
00:38:33Oh.
00:38:35Middleborough isn't in it?
00:38:36Apparently not.
00:38:38Well, what do you want to do?
00:38:42It makes me wonder if we'd get off the board.
00:38:45But we could still cut off that line,
00:38:51but that line doesn't seem that likely.
00:38:55Included on frequency.
00:38:56We definitely want to get off.
00:38:57Okay.
00:39:08Okay.
00:39:09Welcome to York.
00:39:10What the f**k do we do now?
00:39:12We probably shouldn't have come here.
00:39:14No.
00:39:15Somewhat.
00:39:16We kind of thought some lines were in play that are not in play.
00:39:18This is on the way to some stuff.
00:39:20It's fine.
00:39:21But.
00:39:22We need to stop narrowly halving big f**k ups, Ben.
00:39:27The key is narrowly.
00:39:30The thing I'm worried about is that even though on the map there's a decent number of possibilities left,
00:39:37I don't actually think that I could have gotten to a lot of them.
00:39:41So I'm worried that they might have a good guess about where I am.
00:39:51And maybe that's what they're about to do.
00:39:54They're about to just go for it.
00:39:57We've got him down to like.
00:40:00We're doing great.
00:40:01I mean, what?
00:40:02Like a.
00:40:03Probably like less than a couple dozen stations now.
00:40:06I think it's a.
00:40:07Yeah.
00:40:07It's a healthy couple dozen.
00:40:09I don't know.
00:40:15I don't know.
00:40:15I don't know.
00:40:16I don't know.
00:40:16I mean, we could just like go to Scarborough.
00:40:19I mean, it's not the craziest idea.
00:40:21I mean, it seems like we have like decent maneuverability around here.
00:40:24Great.
00:40:25I love to maneuver.
00:40:26So it's kind of like.
00:40:27I feel like we should probably either be getting on that train to all or the train to Scarborough.
00:40:32But what.
00:40:32What do we do getting on those trains?
00:40:35I don't know, man.
00:40:38Okay.
00:40:38What do we do?
00:40:39What do we do?
00:40:40Well, look.
00:40:42I feel like we're doing pretty good.
00:40:45We are.
00:40:46I just don't know how to.
00:40:47Even though we did literally just make a giant mistake.
00:40:49And we did.
00:40:50We almost made a giant mistake.
00:40:51We almost.
00:40:51We made a little mistake on the way to making a giant mistake.
00:40:55Yes.
00:40:55We are going to look so stupid.
00:40:57We've gotten everything right.
00:40:58We're going to look like a genius.
00:41:00Okay.
00:41:00So radar, not useful because we're equidistant from the two main areas.
00:41:04There's always the question where we go on a line and we're like, are you on this one?
00:41:10But I fear it may be too early.
00:41:14Like, he could be in Grimsby.
00:41:17Let's keep in the back of our minds.
00:41:18There is that train to hull in 12 minutes.
00:41:20I mean, I don't know.
00:41:21Do you want to go to a hull?
00:41:23Once we're there, or even once we're on the way there, we could probably ask a much more useful radar.
00:41:30You know how we can, we can exclude, can't we exclude Grimsby on county?
00:41:37If we ask county?
00:41:38If we're in hull?
00:41:39That feels pretty good.
00:41:40I kind of like that.
00:41:41We could also, we could basically ask that right after we leave for hull.
00:41:45I can't think of something very useful we can do here.
00:41:49No.
00:41:49And there's a lot useful we can do in hull.
00:41:51I think.
00:41:52Let go to hull.
00:41:53Okay, let's go.
00:41:55I'm getting hangry.
00:41:56I need food.
00:41:57I have a lot of bars.
00:42:00I have bars too, but I, I, I've had my bars.
00:42:04I'm going to crash out on bars then.
00:42:09Hello.
00:42:10Made it on the train to hull.
00:42:12You got a little print on maje.
00:42:13Never hurt.
00:42:14Never hurt anybody.
00:42:15I'm so excited for food.
00:42:15I'm so hungry.
00:42:17If the answer is yes, I was just checking.
00:42:19This train, it goes all the way up to Breitlington.
00:42:23Yep.
00:42:24Meaning this train stops at almost every...
00:42:29Wait.
00:42:29Do we want a station photo?
00:42:32Yeah.
00:42:32Ask for a station photo.
00:42:34Wow.
00:42:35Why not?
00:42:36I think that is a worthwhile card.
00:42:38What are the chances he pulls a banger?
00:42:42Zero.
00:42:43Zero chance he pulls a banger off of this question.
00:42:46Okay, well, I was trying to go to the other end of my zone to check it out, but they want
00:42:55a picture of the train platform.
00:42:57Well, folks, we've made it to the station.
00:43:03It has to be visible from the train platform.
00:43:10This station is under construction.
00:43:15Is there a way that they would be able to figure out what stations are under renovation?
00:43:24Okay, yes.
00:43:25Google will tell me that it is.
00:43:27Which means I don't think we should show any of this.
00:43:31Okay.
00:43:33How about that?
00:43:34I don't know how helpful that's going to be.
00:43:36All right, Sam.
00:43:47Ooh.
00:43:48Got a photo from Adam.
00:43:49I feel like we would be able to notice that.
00:43:51It's a pretty particular type of brick.
00:43:53Like, I don't think most stations would have that brick.
00:43:57You've got that red sign in the corner.
00:43:59Because, like, a lot of these stations don't even have structures.
00:44:03So, it's at least, like, not the most normal.
00:44:07And I reckon we're getting pretty close.
00:44:10I reckon Mr. Chase is quaking.
00:44:21Okay, so, they seem to have turned around and are now going the wrong way, which is good.
00:44:46I'm just confused.
00:44:49Where are they going?
00:44:51I think he's probably in this county.
00:44:59Sam, there's a castle.
00:45:01Nice, nice little look at the castle.
00:45:03Look at, look at the castle.
00:45:07Um, Sam.
00:45:10Wait, we're there.
00:45:12Let's, uh, let's ask if he is in this county.
00:45:15Adam, this is your end game.
00:45:17Okay, well, I understand what they were doing.
00:45:21Now, they were trying to get to the county of East Riding of Yorkshire to ask if I was there.
00:45:31And, folks, I am thrilled to tell you that I am not.
00:45:39This does narrow things down quite a bit.
00:45:41On the other hand, they just wasted a ton of time going and figuring that out.
00:45:49I'm stressed, Ben.
00:45:57I'm mostly stressed about, like, a no answer.
00:46:01A no answer.
00:46:02But a no answer does probably eliminate more than half the stations.
00:46:07Yes, but I just don't know what we do next.
00:46:09No, it'll be an only.
00:46:11Cool.
00:46:11Okay.
00:46:11Okay.
00:46:13You ready?
00:46:15It's a no.
00:46:18Okay.
00:46:21Fine.
00:46:22What do we do?
00:46:24Panic.
00:46:25No?
00:46:26That's the wrong answer.
00:46:27All right, folks.
00:46:30Let's draw our cards, shall we?
00:46:31One.
00:46:35Fine.
00:46:37Two.
00:46:39Okay, better.
00:46:40Three.
00:46:43Curse of the Jammed Door.
00:46:44For the next three hours, whenever the Seekers want to pass through a doorway into a building,
00:46:48business, train, or other vehicle, they must first roll two dice.
00:46:52If they do not roll a seven or higher, they cannot enter that space.
00:46:56Any given doorway can be reattempted after 15 minutes.
00:46:59Casting cost?
00:47:00Discard a card.
00:47:01Oh, yeah.
00:47:04Oh, big time.
00:47:07All right.
00:47:08Let's use this right now.
00:47:10Let's discard.
00:47:11Let's discard Curse of the Seussayer.
00:47:13I don't want to do that.
00:47:15Oh, folks.
00:47:17Here we go.
00:47:18We have sent something, Ben.
00:47:23Jammed Door.
00:47:24The classic.
00:47:25Oh, man, Ben.
00:47:26Things were going good.
00:47:29So we could have gotten to Scarborough.
00:47:30But you've gotten to any of the stations below Scarborough.
00:47:33Yes.
00:47:34I think that those are, like, pretty attractive.
00:47:38Yeah, but there's only three of them.
00:47:41Yeah.
00:47:41So our fastest way to Scarborough at this point is actually probably staying on us.
00:47:48I mean, it's true that, like, actually getting off of a train is a risk now because of the jam door.
00:47:54Yeah.
00:47:54So, like, the fact that we're on a train that is moving is worth something.
00:47:59So it's basically, if we're right, if we haven't f***ed up, which we probably have, he's either in one of three stations up there or he's in, like, all of this.
00:48:13Wait, Ben, we could radar, right?
00:48:16What's, like, a 25 from around here look like?
00:48:21Okay, we'd have to use it, like, ASAP.
00:48:25Okay, we'd want to use it in, like, seconds.
00:48:28From Brown.
00:48:29We'd have to use it in the middle because that way we would just include Grimsby and we would get as much of Doncaster as possible.
00:48:36All right.
00:48:36Hit it?
00:48:37Yeah, hit it.
00:48:38I'll tell you something, folks.
00:48:39Things have turned around a little bit for us here.
00:48:42They had a straight shot from York to me, but instead they backtracked.
00:48:47They went the wrong way.
00:48:48Now they're going to have to make their way back here and deal with the curse of the jam door.
00:48:52I mean, that one mistake by them, going the wrong way from York, is probably going to get me, like, at least two extra hours.
00:49:04They have asked for a 25-mile radar.
00:49:08Seemingly, they are trying to eliminate all of the area in the Humber.
00:49:13I am not within 25 miles of them.
00:49:18I'm simply not.
00:49:19I'm not.
00:49:20Nothing I can do about that.
00:49:21And so, we draw two cards and pick one.
00:49:27That's interesting.
00:49:31Curse of the Archaeologist.
00:49:32Send the Seekers a photo of a building or structure whose age you can verify to within a century.
00:49:36The Seekers must find a building or structure, whose age they can also verify, from the same century or earlier before asking another question.
00:49:44Casting Cost, a standard photo of a building or structure.
00:49:46Yeah, Curse of the Archaeologist is interesting, but I just don't think I want to give them that information.
00:49:54I think I'd prefer just a good old time bonus.
00:49:56But things are going so good for us right now, I think we need to celebrate.
00:50:03And I happen to know the perfect place to do it.
00:50:06Let's go.
00:50:12It's so brown.
00:50:13All right.
00:50:15This could be Big Ben.
00:50:17What's it say?
00:50:19Mess.
00:50:19You're giving me a YouTube face.
00:50:23You're giving me a thumbnail face.
00:50:25If we are right about everything, we have them down to three stations.
00:50:31That doesn't...
00:50:34It kind of seems like too good to be true.
00:50:37I just...
00:50:38I'm scared to continue on this train past here.
00:50:42I mean, it's such a gamble.
00:50:44But based on our info right now, it's the right move.
00:50:46All right, Sam, we're in a hole.
00:50:49This is the sort of big question.
00:50:51Do we stay on this train because we think that he is up north?
00:50:55Are we confident enough?
00:50:57Should we be banking on us being right or banking on us being wrong?
00:51:01I don't know, Sam.
00:51:04I don't know what to...
00:51:05Stay on the train?
00:51:07You want to stay on the train?
00:51:08Well, I think it would be silly to bank on us being wrong.
00:51:12We should be banking on us being right.
00:51:16We don't have time to redo our work right now
00:51:18before this train pulls out of the station.
00:51:20I'm sweating, though.
00:51:22Sam, I'm sweating like a...
00:51:23You do that normally, Ben.
00:51:24I'm sweating like a roast pig.
00:51:26Scarborough looks lovely.
00:51:28I agree that, like, vines-wise,
00:51:31I think it's so much more likely that he's up there.
00:51:33Look at all these row houses.
00:51:35We know he's in row houses.
00:51:36Look at all the row houses.
00:51:37There's row houses.
00:51:38I'm hearing it.
00:51:39He's in Scarborough.
00:51:43He's in Scarborough, Ben.
00:51:44I certainly think he's around there.
00:51:49I think we've got to stay on it.
00:51:50I just don't see the logic to stay on it.
00:51:52No, I don't know what we've got off.
00:51:55No.
00:51:55I think it's simply a Strava map time.
00:52:00If we think we have it down to three...
00:52:03Strava map.
00:52:04You can have a Strava map as a treat.
00:52:07Hit it.
00:52:07Bang.
00:52:09Bang.
00:52:09All right.
00:52:11I think we're ending our day in Ridlington.
00:52:15Right, Linkton?
00:52:17Ridlington.
00:52:17Ridlington.
00:52:18Ridlington.
00:52:18Ridlington.
00:52:27All right.
00:52:28Well, they are coming hard with the questions now.
00:52:32They would like the map of half a mile of streets for at least five turns.
00:52:39Oh, God.
00:52:40I think that I found an area that is pretty generic.
00:52:44I am hopeful that it will not give them that much.
00:52:46But on the other hand, Sam is historically very good at dealing with Strava maps.
00:52:52Let's get our one card for answering that question.
00:53:01Yay!
00:53:08Ben, I've been searing the image of Scarborough into my retinas.
00:53:12It's got the row houses that he sent the photo with of close to the station.
00:53:18Yeah.
00:53:18It has cliffs.
00:53:21It has a castle.
00:53:22Scarborough is definitely my leading theory.
00:53:26Oh, here it is.
00:53:28It's very blocky.
00:53:29Very blocky.
00:53:30Okay.
00:53:31With, like, perfectly right turns.
00:53:33I mean, they're 100% are, like, look at the stuff around Kappelman's Fish and Chips.
00:53:41Yeah.
00:53:41I legit think that could, in fact, be it.
00:53:44Right around here.
00:53:46Okay.
00:53:46Let me try that.
00:53:46Like, that looks pretty good to me.
00:53:52That looks pretty good to me.
00:53:54Can I get credit for spotting that immediately?
00:53:57I mean, that looks pretty good.
00:54:01I didn't tilt it.
00:54:02So, the angle is 100%.
00:54:03The shape, I mean, it's 100% match.
00:54:10Sam, I've got one question for you.
00:54:12Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
00:54:14You know that song?
00:54:15You know that song by Simon Garfunkel?
00:54:18No.
00:54:19Give it a listen tonight.
00:54:21That's what I do know about.
00:54:23I'm going to Scarborough because Mr. Adam Chase.
00:54:27He's at Scarborough.
00:54:30Yes.
00:54:34Yes.
00:54:36What the hell?
00:54:39Is it closed?
00:54:45Well, this sucks.
00:54:48All right, folks.
00:54:52Well, it would seem that they have turned northward.
00:54:59Yeah, my guess is that the jig is basically up at this point.
00:55:04So, tomorrow morning, we need to lock in on finding a good hiding spot.
00:55:11We've got a lot of area to play with.
00:55:12We expanded our hiding zone.
00:55:14Sam, I will see you back here at this exact spot tomorrow morning.
00:55:28Thanks.
00:55:28All right, well, welcome to Bridlington, Sam.
00:55:33This looks nice.
00:55:34They got flowers and s***.
00:55:36Well, Sam, I think this is where we end our day because tomorrow we think we know where Adam is.
00:55:44We got him.
00:55:45I think we're pretty sure he's in Scarborough.
00:55:48There is a train first thing, which is why we can't leave the station because otherwise we're going to have to roll to get in.
00:55:53Yeah.
00:55:53The bad news is we are also going to have to roll for that train because we have this curse.
00:55:56It's a jammed door.
00:55:57You got to roll the dice to see if you can get on the train or if the door jams.
00:56:01I'm so good at rolling dice.
00:56:02And so we might get locked out of the first train to Scarborough.
00:56:06We might also get locked out of the second train to Scarborough.
00:56:09That's a problem for...
00:56:10We'll eventually expire and we'll deal with it as it comes up.
00:56:14All right.
00:56:15Goodbye.
00:56:15Good night.
00:56:16Good night.
00:56:21Good morning.
00:56:30It is 7 a.m.
00:56:32And I believe that they are coming for my ass.
00:56:37All right.
00:56:38Hello.
00:56:38Good morning.
00:56:40Good morning.
00:56:40It is day two.
00:56:42So we've still got the jammed door curse, which means we have to roll the dice to see if we can get on the train when it arrives.
00:56:48And if we don't roll right, then we're waiting for at least the second train to Scarborough.
00:56:54Yeah.
00:56:54This is 40 minutes after the first train.
00:56:58All right.
00:56:59Let's go to the right platform.
00:57:00There's a train from there to here.
00:57:03So the time has come to find our hiding spot.
00:57:08We could go that way towards the stuff where we started.
00:57:14I would argue that this is a mistake because this cliff area, very distinctive.
00:57:21We have to be within 10 feet of a path, and there's very limited paths over there.
00:57:30So I actually think they would find me very quickly over there.
00:57:33So I think the actual solution is we need to go to the most boring part of town that is the most generic.
00:57:39So let's get looking.
00:57:45How do you enjoy your overnight in Bridlington?
00:57:49I mean, to be honest with you, Sam, this place is kind of scary.
00:57:52I'm sure Bridlington's a lovely place.
00:57:54I did feel like at many moments there was going to be like a knife-wielding clown around the corner.
00:58:03Exactly.
00:58:04Yeah.
00:58:06Do you have dice to eat?
00:58:07This is our train.
00:58:09So if we roll anything less than a seven, the doors are jammed that we cannot board.
00:58:15Come on, Ben.
00:58:16You can do this.
00:58:16Are you ready?
00:58:17You can do this.
00:58:18Get in here.
00:58:19Oh, it's a six.
00:58:25Not your fault.
00:58:27Oh, my God.
00:58:28I got close to a seven.
00:58:30Oh, God.
00:58:32Well, 40 more minutes in Bridlington, at least.
00:58:36Okay, well, their train, to me, should have left like five minutes ago.
00:58:44And they're still at the station.
00:58:47And it says the train left.
00:58:49What are they doing?
00:58:53Curse of the jammed door.
00:58:55Oh, love the curse of the jammed door.
00:59:00All right.
00:59:01Now we're starting to get to generic stuff.
00:59:04Like, what's the difference between this street and this street?
00:59:09And the stuff down there and the stuff over there.
00:59:14So I think we just got to keep walking and see if we can find just a good little corner or something.
00:59:21This is what we want.
00:59:22We want to be in the area where everything looks the freaking same.
00:59:28The next train will be here soon.
00:59:30The train that we will be getting on will be here soon.
00:59:34Because you've learned how to roll dice better now, right?
00:59:37Yeah.
00:59:38You've been practicing?
00:59:39Look, I rolled a six last time as a bit.
00:59:42I thought it would be funny.
00:59:43But it was funny, right?
00:59:44It was kind of funny, yeah.
00:59:45Pretty funny.
00:59:46So this time I'm going to roll an eight.
00:59:50I spotted the train.
00:59:52All right, Sam.
00:59:57Okay, doors are here.
00:59:58Come on, Ben.
00:59:59Come on.
01:00:00Seven or higher.
01:00:02Oh, my God.
01:00:03I'm so nervous.
01:00:04Are you sure you don't want to do it?
01:00:06You do it.
01:00:06Okay, I'm doing it.
01:00:07I'm doing it.
01:00:10Oh.
01:00:11It's an eight.
01:00:12You nailed it, Ben.
01:00:14Let's go get them.
01:00:16They're so open.
01:00:16They're so open and unjammed.
01:00:18I love unjammed doors.
01:00:20Oh, sweet, sweet train.
01:00:29Well, they made it.
01:00:32But hey, we got one.
01:00:33That's pretty good.
01:00:36Okay, now we really got to pick a spot
01:00:38because they're going to be here in, like, 40 minutes.
01:00:49All right, well.
01:00:50I think if we are right about where he is,
01:00:52he should be getting into position right now.
01:00:57Run away, Adam.
01:00:59All right, see, here's a great example of where we can't hide.
01:01:02Cannot hide anywhere where we can see that
01:01:04because that would be the tallest building we can see,
01:01:07and that is super distinctive.
01:01:08So we need to get away from that.
01:01:13This isn't bad.
01:01:16I need to make sure I wouldn't have to send any pictures of these signs.
01:01:19I feel good about this one.
01:01:22It's a little bench for me to sit on.
01:01:24There's, like, I'm walking around.
01:01:26There's, like, a million streets that look like this.
01:01:28The downside is there's not, like, really a place to hide,
01:01:36but there isn't one on any of the streets that are like this.
01:01:40I guess we'll find out.
01:01:42That mountain is, um...
01:01:48It's looking hefty.
01:01:50Yeah, and that's just within the zone I checked.
01:01:53There are a couple different wooded areas within the zone.
01:01:56That's tricky.
01:01:57However, that's why we're going to slice and dice.
01:02:01So first question, I think as soon as we get there,
01:02:04we're going to do distance to...
01:02:07Nearest airport.
01:02:08Airport.
01:02:08Because that'll slice the map right now.
01:02:10Should I send it?
01:02:12Yeah.
01:02:13I think we do it before he heads us with a curse.
01:02:18Oh, yeah.
01:02:20This, that's it for sure, is definitely it.
01:02:24I think Adam did something sneaky.
01:02:26I think he went behind the scaffolding.
01:02:29Yeah, to make it less, uh...
01:02:30Oh, it's pure ease.
01:02:31Yeah, it's got one of those.
01:02:34Oh, here it is, Ben.
01:02:36I think?
01:02:37Yeah.
01:02:37That's it.
01:02:39We got him.
01:02:40All right.
01:02:40We got him.
01:02:42Well, they are here.
01:02:45And they have asked an interesting question.
01:02:47They've asked whether I'm closer to or further from the nearest airport.
01:02:51Now, this is a very clever question, I believe,
01:02:57because it functionally just splits this area into north-south.
01:03:03It just splits it in half.
01:03:04Okay.
01:03:05Yeah.
01:03:05So I am further from the airport than them,
01:03:08which they will know means I am north of them.
01:03:11Already, they can disregard quite a lot.
01:03:17Let's draw our cards.
01:03:22Ooh.
01:03:26All right.
01:03:29Ooh, tough choice.
01:03:31Oh, my gosh.
01:03:33Which one do we go with?
01:03:34All right.
01:03:35Adam says he is further.
01:03:38From the airport.
01:03:39Yeah, which would mean he's in the north half of his radius.
01:03:43Okay.
01:03:43Let's go ahead and quickly ask,
01:03:46while we don't have a curse,
01:03:47a tracing of his nearest path or street,
01:03:51because that'll just give us something to work with.
01:03:54And then we find the center of...
01:03:56One half of the remaining half.
01:03:58Radar cut in half again.
01:04:01This half seems to have a little bit more complexity.
01:04:03Yeah.
01:04:04Which makes me think it's slightly more likely he's in it.
01:04:06Let's go in the middle of there.
01:04:13It's an ambulance.
01:04:14It's probably for Adam, because he's crashing out.
01:04:17We do need to keep an eye out, just in case.
01:04:19True.
01:04:20He's not there.
01:04:23Adam.
01:04:24Well, folks, they have begun their search in the wrong direction.
01:04:28They have gone towards the stuff that is interesting,
01:04:31because they think I'm a sucker.
01:04:34They think I'm a damn sucker
01:04:36who can't help himself from being near the interesting stuff.
01:04:40Well, guess what?
01:04:41I did.
01:04:43Now they've asked, yeah,
01:04:44the most obvious one,
01:04:47trace my nearest path.
01:04:48Now, luckily,
01:04:49basically every path in this whole area
01:04:52looks the same.
01:04:54You should get us an answer in one minute.
01:04:55And then we hit him with the immediate.
01:04:58Yeah.
01:04:59So 0.375 mile radius, right?
01:05:02Yep.
01:05:02From here.
01:05:03I'm going to do it faster than you can type curse.
01:05:06Okay, you sent it.
01:05:07I sent back.
01:05:07Oh, okay.
01:05:09It's not a very useful one,
01:05:10at least immediately.
01:05:12Gives us orientation.
01:05:13Orientation can be useful.
01:05:15Gives us orientation.
01:05:15Um, and it looks pretty straight,
01:05:19but it's like, what,
01:05:20is he just on some residential street?
01:05:22Maybe, I don't know.
01:05:24We're going to draw a card.
01:05:29Awesome.
01:05:30I will say also that we are now
01:05:33at our max hand size,
01:05:36so we are going to use
01:05:39the curse of the hide-and-seek section.
01:05:41They were very quick,
01:05:44and they did manage to get
01:05:47their next question in
01:05:48before I cast this.
01:05:52But that's fine.
01:05:56Um, we have been cursed.
01:05:59Cursed.
01:06:00Cursed to the hide-and-seek section.
01:06:02Do you want to hide or do you want to seek?
01:06:04I'll hide.
01:06:05Really?
01:06:06Okay, you hide.
01:06:08I'm going to close my eyes.
01:06:09You take this.
01:06:10Um, and...
01:06:13Goodbye.
01:06:13Goodbye.
01:06:15So this rat here is...
01:06:17How can we collude without colluding?
01:06:20I'm just going to go straight down
01:06:22the biggest street.
01:06:28Slightly farther.
01:06:30Okay.
01:06:32This is good enough.
01:06:33All right, let me text him.
01:06:34So, we do have to answer this
01:06:37.375 mile radius,
01:06:40which will eliminate
01:06:42probably about half
01:06:44of the remaining map.
01:06:46And it is a miss.
01:06:48Now, what's fun is that
01:06:49I can watch them play hide-and-seek.
01:06:52Seems that Sam
01:06:53has decided to hide,
01:06:55and he has gone down
01:06:56towards the beach.
01:06:57What will Ben do?
01:07:02Okay.
01:07:03Um, well,
01:07:05uh, Sam is hidden.
01:07:06And so,
01:07:07I think that
01:07:08what I would do
01:07:09if I were Sam
01:07:09is I would just go
01:07:10in as straight of a line
01:07:12as possible
01:07:13for 500 feet
01:07:15and then turn a corner.
01:07:17So,
01:07:18I'm,
01:07:19I'm going to go...
01:07:20This street
01:07:21goes straight
01:07:23for quite a while here.
01:07:25He, like,
01:07:26could have turned
01:07:26a corner here,
01:07:27but I don't,
01:07:28I don't think
01:07:30that makes any sense.
01:07:31I'm, like,
01:07:31looking down
01:07:33and down.
01:07:36Oh, wait,
01:07:36I think I see him.
01:07:45Yeah, Ben found him.
01:07:47Okay, well,
01:07:49I guess that maybe
01:07:49bought me five minutes.
01:07:53That was easy.
01:07:55Okay, nice job.
01:07:56Okay.
01:07:57Our brains are melded.
01:07:58Adam sent
01:07:59something.
01:08:01I'm, here,
01:08:01I'm going to give a hot take.
01:08:02I did some matching work.
01:08:03I found a match
01:08:04that is, like,
01:08:05a couple blocks that way.
01:08:06I think he's near.
01:08:08What, well,
01:08:09is it, is it...
01:08:10Let's see.
01:08:10Is he in our radar?
01:08:11Let's see.
01:08:12Oh, miss.
01:08:14Okay, so you're wrong.
01:08:15So, we need to walk
01:08:16towards the other quadrant.
01:08:19Wait,
01:08:19do we want to ask
01:08:19something else?
01:08:20Oh, yes,
01:08:20I guess
01:08:21we can ask
01:08:22another question.
01:08:23Photo towards...
01:08:24Put it towards you.
01:08:25Yeah,
01:08:26I think that's
01:08:26just a useful one.
01:08:28Yeah, okay.
01:08:36Oh, and before we forget,
01:08:37because we answered
01:08:38that radar,
01:08:40draw two cards.
01:08:4310-minute bonus.
01:08:44through...
01:08:48Absolutely.
01:08:55Okay,
01:08:56photo towards me.
01:08:58Another classic question,
01:09:01which is why
01:09:03I am in front of
01:09:06a super generic brick wall.
01:09:09Oh, we got a photo.
01:09:11He's in front of a brick wall
01:09:13that looks exactly like that.
01:09:17Kind of all of these houses
01:09:20are identical.
01:09:23Maybe we just go search
01:09:24through these streets,
01:09:25because, like,
01:09:25this looks...
01:09:26I mean,
01:09:27that's the exact same shade
01:09:28of brick, right?
01:09:30As these?
01:09:31Yeah, I think so.
01:09:32And here's a data point, Ben.
01:09:34The sun is in his face.
01:09:36And specifically,
01:09:37it's to his left.
01:09:40So he's probably
01:09:40pointing that way.
01:09:42Okay.
01:09:43Good, good analysis.
01:09:45That shit looks crazy.
01:09:47Okay, let me...
01:09:48That's crazy.
01:09:49You just did that.
01:09:50Let's just go.
01:09:51Let's search some streets
01:09:52at first,
01:09:52by the way.
01:09:53Because maybe, you know,
01:09:55maybe the shade
01:09:56of the houses
01:09:56changes or something.
01:09:57Folks, they are approaching.
01:10:06We just have to hope
01:10:07that it takes them a while
01:10:09to get the right street.
01:10:12The question for us now, Ben,
01:10:13is, like,
01:10:14I mean,
01:10:15we can pretty clearly
01:10:16see all the way down.
01:10:17I think on a street like this,
01:10:20I actually don't see a spot
01:10:21that would...
01:10:22No, like a clear spot
01:10:23with that much brick.
01:10:25I don't think this seems right,
01:10:26because these houses
01:10:27don't have, like,
01:10:30a clean bit of brick
01:10:31that big, right?
01:10:32At least not
01:10:34on the front of them.
01:10:35Do we want to ask
01:10:36another photo,
01:10:37since it's only one card pull?
01:10:39I guess, like,
01:10:40I don't know if any photo
01:10:41would tell us anything.
01:10:42Maybe let's just go
01:10:43a little bit down the street,
01:10:44because this is
01:10:45the really long one.
01:10:46Yeah, this doesn't
01:10:47look quite right.
01:10:48I don't think
01:10:49this is going to do anything.
01:10:50but let's
01:10:57make ourselves
01:11:00as small as we can be.
01:11:06This is definitely pointless,
01:11:09but we've got to do
01:11:10everything we can.
01:11:11I really feel like
01:11:18it's one of these houses.
01:11:19Also, because in that photo,
01:11:20there's one of those wires.
01:11:21Yeah.
01:11:21Those, like,
01:11:23coaxial cables
01:11:24running down the side.
01:11:25Mm-hmm.
01:11:26A lot of good-looking
01:11:27brick around here.
01:11:29Oh.
01:11:30And there's
01:11:31a good-looking Adam.
01:11:32And a lot of
01:11:33good-looking hider.
01:11:35Hey, guys.
01:11:36What's up?
01:11:36Oh, you guys
01:11:52like my, um,
01:11:53makeshift dead cat
01:11:54that I made
01:11:55for my microphone?
01:11:56Oh, yeah.
01:11:57Look at that.
01:11:58It was
01:11:58crazy windy
01:12:00here the other day,
01:12:01and I was like,
01:12:01it's going to ruin
01:12:02all my audio.
01:12:02So I bought a sponge
01:12:04and a sock.
01:12:06And superglue
01:12:07at a convenience store.
01:12:09MacGyver.
01:12:10Cat.
01:12:10Benjamin.
01:12:11All right.
01:12:12Here are the cards.
01:12:13Thank you very much.
01:12:15I will see you all
01:12:16in five days.
01:12:20No, not this evening.
01:12:29So we take it.
01:12:30Right.
01:12:36Uh, hello.
01:12:39Welcome
01:12:40to
01:12:41my hiding zone.
