00:00Mets with another bullpen addition today. Luke Weaver, two-year contract, $22 million.
00:06He'll join Devin Williams at the back end of the bullpen, and it gives the Mets actually now
00:12three former Yankee closers on their roster, if you include Clay Holmes, who's part of the
00:18starting rotation. Weaver, the thing you really like is he's pitched in New York and had success,
00:24and that's something you can't underestimate because we've seen certainly great talents
00:32come here. Last year, Ryan Helsley, a prime example, Mets acquired him at the trade deadline
00:38for whatever reason, didn't work for him in New York, really flopped badly. So you know what
00:47you're kind of getting in Weaver that he's done it with the Yankees. You look at that bullpen right
00:53now. You'd certainly like it better if it was Edwin Diaz at the back end and Williams and Weaver
01:00setting them up. You know, you have to think there's still another move to be made here
01:07for a significant arm, whether it's through free agency or a trade, but you have Oscar Brazoban
01:14returning, who had some success last year, and then from the left side, A.J. Minter and Brooks Raley.
01:20So, you know, we'll see here, but this looks like a step in the right direction toward fortifying
01:28that bullpen. Luke Weaver, two years, $22 million. For more, log on to nypost.com. I'm Mike Puma.
