00:00Trying to reach a different destination in Europe without getting caught.
00:03Right now, Toby and I are the runners trying to get to our destination of Jersey.
00:08Last episode, we drew a curse that meant we had to backtrack 25 miles
00:11before we could earn any more coins, which we need to pay for our travel.
00:16This effectively stranded us in the small town of Lyon for several hours.
00:19But just as Ben and Brian were about to arrive to tag us,
00:22we were able to escape and are now headed to Reims to clear our curse.
00:26But we're not out of the woods yet.
00:27The other team of chasers, Adam and Michelle, noticed us leaving
00:31and are now sprinting to the train station to try to make a train to Champagne-Adena.
00:35If they get on it, it'll put them only three miles away from us.
00:39The only trouble is, it leaves in four minutes and they don't have a reservation.
00:48Okay, find a machine, find a machine.
00:57This machine is busted.
00:59Okay.
01:02Bye, Tegan.
01:03Okay.
01:04Champagne-Adena?
01:05Yeah.
01:05Here we go.
01:06Here we go.
01:07157.
01:09Print.
01:09Print.
01:11Okay.
01:13We're on the 1357 to Nancy.
01:16Yeah?
01:16Because it goes to Champagne-Adena.
01:181357 to Nancy.
01:19Yeah, 26.
01:2026.
01:20Okay.
01:20Nice.
01:35Okay.
01:36I'm just triple, triple.
01:37I'm just trying to, we're going to get in.
01:39Like five years.
01:40243.
01:41I know, I know.
01:41I'm, but Champagne-Adena, we will have to take like a taxi or something.
01:45And I'm just making sure, yeah, they can't take a train anywhere useful.
01:51We're good.
01:51We're good.
01:52We're good.
01:52We're good.
01:53I'm, I'm, I'm pretty much certain that this was right.
01:56You don't even said it.
01:57Our train is leaving Michelle.
02:00Hope we made the right choice.
02:12All right, so we got some time to just figure out our next moves, but.
02:14I'm feeling like a freeze, and I'm feeling like it's.
02:17It'd be a shame not to use it.
02:18We couldn't, yeah.
02:19Yeah, because surely one of them aren't RAS, right?
02:23Like, how could they not be?
02:25Okay, so just to clarify, Toby and I are discussing using our freeze power-up.
02:29Once per run, we can freeze one team wherever they are for 45 minutes.
02:34Given how long we were in Léon, we strongly suspect one of the teams is waiting for us near
02:38RAS, where we're headed.
02:40The trouble is, we don't actually know where either of the teams are.
02:44So we just have to guess which is the right pair to use it on.
02:47All right.
02:48It's 2.30.
02:49We're seven minutes away.
02:51We've got to play the freeze five minutes before it takes effect.
02:54We're declaring it right now.
02:56Over which team?
02:58Adam and Michelle.
02:59I lean towards that.
03:00That's what we've been assuming this whole time, is for some reason they were there.
03:05Just for a collection of reasons, I slightly think it's that way.
03:09Let's declare it now.
03:10Let's declare.
03:11It's 2.30.
03:12Okay, so at 2.35 and 30 seconds, it takes effect.
03:15So let's hope this train is not more than 90 seconds early.
03:18It'd be cool if it was like 60 seconds early, because then maybe we could make that zero-minute
03:22transfer.
03:23We've got another plan.
03:25Yes, we do have another plan.
03:27What do we do if we see Brian then?
03:29I think there's nothing we can't do.
03:32I think that's GG.
03:44Look at that, Brian.
03:46Oh, wow.
03:47Yeah, that's cool.
03:49I shouldn't be so salty about coming here.
03:50Well, we made it.
03:55They were here 20 minutes ago.
03:59God, they literally got away at the last possible moment.
04:03Well, now, of course, we've hit the, like, one 90-minute gap in the train departure schedule
04:09today, where we can't leave.
04:12So now we are stuck here in Leon for 90 minutes.
04:16All right.
04:26It's time.
04:28They're frozen.
04:31In fact.
04:32Let's do it.
04:34Well, unfortunately, they were smart.
04:38They have frozen us effective now.
04:46How do they know?
04:48I think they guessed.
04:51I don't get it.
04:52Damn.
04:53That's really impressive for them to guess, too, that we would be here and not in Paris,
04:57that we would have made this train.
04:59It's a good guess.
05:00Man, got to hand it to them on that one.
05:03I don't hand it to them for some things, but this one I will.
05:19They might be standing on the platform.
05:20If we sprint away and they search the train, they might even miss us.
05:24Well, they're frozen.
05:26But if it's the wrong team.
05:27Oh, yeah.
05:27True.
05:28That's Ben and Brian.
05:29How much time do we actually have?
05:39Oh, even another hour and a half before the train leaves.
05:42Yep.
05:42We can go to the movies.
05:45What day is this, Faye?
05:46Okay, well, look, we'll see if they make it.
06:16There's nothing we can do but watch.
06:23All right, well, welcome to Freezetown.
06:26And we just have to sit here like a bunch of sittin' ducks
06:29and watch them hop on the train?
06:34Yeah.
06:37Now we have to start figuring out...
06:39How do we get out of here?
06:40...when we can get to St. Malo.
06:42So they can actually get to St. Malo before the end of the day.
06:46Why didn't we come here?
06:51Yeah. What a great question. Give me a sec here.
06:55We actually might be in enormous trouble.
06:57Because the ferries leave from St. Malo at 7.30.
07:02Give me just one sec here.
07:04Okay.
07:07Dude.
07:09I'm gonna call .
07:10Dude.
07:11I feel like we need a group effort to figure this out
07:13because it's in...
07:14Otherwise, we're losing the whole game on the first run.
07:17It's gonna be cool, husband.
07:19Ben! Answer me!
07:28Ugh!
07:29What are we supposed to do? Adam!
07:31Ugh!
07:32That's...
07:33That was the train we wanted.
07:34What was it?
07:35Eight.
07:36That's a platform.
07:37That's okay. We better back up.
07:41Okay.
07:42So, some quick clarification.
07:43Adam and Michelle are super worried that Toby and I are about to connect down to Champaign-Ardan
07:48and then make a beeline to St. Malo.
07:50But we can't do that yet because we still need to clear our curse.
07:53In order to make it the last few miles to the 25 the curse requires, we need to get to a town called Prune.
07:59We were hoping to take the train there, but we just missed it.
08:02So, now we have to run and try to make the bus.
08:04But if the bus is quick, we might have just enough time to get to Prune, clear the curse,
08:09then hop on a train towards Paris before Michelle and Adam can get unfrozen and catch up to us.
08:13But we've got to hurry.
08:16Come on.
08:18Oh, we need this...
08:19We need this light.
08:20Come on.
08:22Four minutes or four.
08:24All right.
08:25Let's do a little job.
08:27Car.
08:29Close.
08:30We can make it.
08:33Need to lock in.
08:34All right, watch out for the cobbles.
08:35Beautiful.
08:45We've made it.
08:46Nice job.
08:49Parkland's paid off, right?
08:50How did we get here?
08:51Because what a...
08:53Like, look at us.
08:54We're facing the prospect of clearing the curse.
08:56Like, if we clear the curse, we're like born again.
08:59Yeah.
09:00It's like our second run has started already.
09:02Yeah, we might be so back.
09:04It might be so back.
09:05It might be so back.
09:07Wait.
09:08They are far away.
09:09Wait.
09:10Is their tram slow or something?
09:11Are they not going to make it?
09:12You see them already?
09:13Yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:14They should be closer to here by now.
09:16Did they take a bus instead of a tram?
09:18Why would they freeze us if they weren't trying to make that connection?
09:23My guess is that they thought we were in rehab.
09:25But then you used the freeze to get your ass out of there, right?
09:28I don't know, dog.
09:29Maybe their bus is delayed or...
09:31I don't know.
09:32All right.
09:33Well, I hope this bus exists.
09:34Okay.
09:35Because now it's late.
09:36Oh, that's us behind Hick Point.
09:44Things just keep working out.
09:45I know.
09:46Look at us.
09:47It's crazy.
09:48We're doing everything just right.
09:49We can never lose, Toby.
09:50It's statistically impossible.
09:51It's statistically impossible.
09:52I believe you now.
09:57I think someone crashed into a bus.
09:59We made it about, like, 50 feet.
10:02And now the driver is off the bus and he's having a conversation with another guy.
10:07He was also off the bus having a call.
10:09They've been in the same spot for a while.
10:11What are they up to?
10:12Why are they just in the middle of the town?
10:14Look, because they're not on the tram lines.
10:16It says that that's where they are.
10:19Are they just in the middle?
10:20Are they just at the cathedral?
10:22Oh, my God.
10:24Wait, this is good.
10:25This is really good.
10:26This is really, really good.
10:28This goddamn roller coaster.
10:31Let me double check with Ben and Adam that this is the case.
10:33Well, Adam is right here.
10:35Oh, my God.
10:37Ben and Brian.
10:38Brian, Sam.
10:39Toby, Sam.
10:40Adam.
10:41Michelle!
10:42Me.
10:43Let me check with myself.
10:44That was fun.
10:45That was fun.
10:46That was fun.
10:47All right.
10:48We're about to go get on our train back to Paris.
10:50Hopefully no more f***ery.
10:51Regardless.
10:52There's not much we can do.
10:53Yeah, I know.
10:54There's not much we can do.
10:56In one minute, wherever Michelle and Adam are, they shall be released from their freeze.
11:12We?
11:13Not.
11:14However, have not moved since you last saw us.
11:17The bus driver is still off the bus.
11:20Yeah, it's been a little 30 minutes.
11:21He's not coming back anytime soon.
11:23It gives them more time to catch up to us here, I suppose.
11:26It does.
11:27Yeah.
11:28But I kind of feel like if they weren't here, I kind of doubt that they were near here.
11:32Yeah, if they weren't here, they were probably not near here.
11:35Yeah.
11:36Yeah.
11:37They probably weren't in Champagne-A-Dame.
11:39No.
11:40All right, Michelle.
11:41We have 30 seconds until our freeze is up.
11:43We literally, during this freeze, have gone through such an emotional relationship.
11:47We thought we lost the whole game.
11:49Okay, let's go.
11:50Let's see if they start moving now that they know our freeze is over.
11:53Yeah.
11:54I mean, my hope is that they are just wrong about where we were.
11:58And so they're like, oh, Michelle and Adam were probably in Paris or something.
12:02The freeze did nothing.
12:11Oh, I think we've done it.
12:12We might actually leave.
12:14And they still didn't catch us.
12:16And their freeze ended 10 minutes ago.
12:19I wonder if that, do you think they're...
12:21They could have run.
12:22They could have run.
12:23They could have run.
12:24And they're about to find out we're leaving.
12:25That would be funny.
12:26But this almost makes me think a little bit more that they're not here.
12:29That they're not here.
12:30I think there's a really good chance they're just not here at all.
12:33They're just both in Paris.
12:35Yeah, I mean, again, it's counterintuitive for us to have gone here because it's in the
12:40wrong direction.
12:41Yeah.
12:42And we are once again going in the wrong direction.
12:44Yeah, I don't know where they could be going.
12:45I mean, they're definitely on something.
12:46They're not walking, I don't think.
12:47Yeah, they're definitely on a bus.
12:48Okay.
12:49I'm starting to...
12:50We need to figure out what the hell they're doing.
12:51They are not coming towards us.
12:52No, they are not coming towards us anymore.
12:54Why?
12:55Where are they going?
12:56Why?
12:57Where are they going?
12:58Why?
12:59I don't know.
13:00I don't know.
13:01I don't know.
13:02I don't know.
13:03They're definitely on a bus.
13:04Yeah.
13:05They're definitely on a bus.
13:06Okay.
13:07I'm starting to...
13:08We need to figure out what the hell they're doing.
13:10They are not coming towards us.
13:11They are not coming towards us.
13:14No, they are not coming towards us anymore.
13:16Why?
13:17Where are they going?
13:18Oh my god.
13:19Are they going to the airport?
13:20I think it's possible.
13:21This is the bus you would take.
13:22But how are they gonna make that last?
13:23This is exactly the bus you would take.
13:25I don't know. I don't know. It says that it's not like a commercial airport.
13:28So, like, maybe it's just f***ing...
13:29That's why I am confused.
13:32What else could they be doing? They're going... Where are they going?
13:36Where could they possibly be going?
13:39Here's the thing.
13:39I think that we need to consider getting in a taxi and going towards the airport.
13:45Okay. I'm calling an Uber to the private airport.
13:49I'm just saying regardless of what they're doing, we need to go out with them.
13:52You know, it's like, I guess the trouble is if we catch them, I don't know what the f*** we do then.
13:58Right.
13:58Yes.
14:02Bonjour.
14:03Hi, do you speak English by chance?
14:06No, I don't.
14:06No, okay.
14:22You see what's that way?
14:26Bad at all.
14:28Is that where we're going?
14:30Not quite.
14:31But it's good old man.
14:32Okay.
14:32They're still moving.
14:33They've kind of passed the airport area.
14:37They're starting to reach the limits of how far they can go.
14:39Okay.
14:40Now they have hopped to Prune.
14:42Okay.
14:43Yeah.
14:43They switched up to Prune.
14:44Okay.
14:44Good.
14:45That means they're just still riding the line.
14:47All right.
14:54We've made it to where?
14:57Prune.
14:58Prune.
15:01All right.
15:02You got your phone.
15:02I got my phone.
15:07Well, they're not here.
15:08That's good.
15:09I didn't expect them to be here.
15:12Yeah, but it's always good.
15:14They're always where you least expect them.
15:15They probably didn't expect us out here, but we could stay here a little while.
15:20Well, yeah.
15:21We might as well clear our curse and then pull a challenge.
15:24And if it's one that we can do here, we might as well do it here.
15:27Yeah.
15:28And I honestly don't expect them to arrive all too soon unless they were back there, you know.
15:34Do you have them in Val de Veste or Prune?
15:36Prune.
15:37Okay.
15:37So we're rerouted to Prune and we'll be there in five minutes.
15:48All right.
15:49We're almost at the spot.
15:50I think once we pass that red thing, we will be cleared.
15:55Cleared.
15:58We're free.
15:59Oh, my goodness.
16:00I didn't think I'd see this time.
16:01I really did not either.
16:02I thought we were done for.
16:04You want to pull a card?
16:05Okay.
16:05No double-ups left, unfortunately.
16:09Make it good, Toby.
16:10Make it good in one that we don't need many materials for.
16:14There's not a lot out here.
16:16Come on.
16:17Come on.
16:19Show it to me.
16:20Show it to me.
16:20Take to the skies.
16:24Take to the skies.
16:25Acquire or construct an object that you will send into the sky.
16:28You must make a prediction for how long it will stay in the air, and coins are earned based
16:33on your predicted duration, if fulfilled, rather than the actual airborne time.
16:38If your object flies for less than your prediction, this card is automatically vetoed.
16:42We can do this.
16:43We can, but what's weird is that it would have been way easier at our old location.
16:48It would have.
16:48Yeah, I don't know if we're getting a tower here.
16:51All right, well, let's walk back to the center and think about how we'll do this.
16:54If we wanted to just clear this, we could do like a one-second prediction.
16:58I mean, looking around, there's nothing really tall.
17:01So, I don't know if we'd ever get a very good...
17:03I'm just looking for like a ledge.
17:06I'm literally going to throw up.
17:07I'm literally going to...
17:08Adam, I'm going to throw up.
17:09Don't throw up.
17:10I'm going to...
17:10I'm going to vomit.
17:11Okay.
17:12This is so intense.
17:14Like, just this rollercoaster, I hate it.
17:17It's fun.
17:19Yay.
17:20Oh, here's Pranay.
17:21Oh, it's cute.
17:23Yay, Pranay.
17:25There's a little ramp.
17:27Scaffolding.
17:27Anyway, what you were saying about the town hall is that it's got a little ledge
17:31to stand on.
17:32That actually was not what I was saying, but I agree.
17:34You got a nice shot.
17:43Is that Toby?
17:44Yeah, that's her.
17:45In the purple, in the pink?
17:46Okay.
17:47Right here.
17:48Can you let us out right here?
17:49Right here?
17:49Can we get out of here?
17:50We'll get out right here.
17:51No, no, no.
17:52They don't see us.
17:54Yeah.
17:57I feel like at one point in my life, I was very good at paper airplanes.
18:01But that point in my life has passed.
18:02I'm going to make a paper helicopter.
18:04That's smart, actually.
18:06Yeah.
18:07All right.
18:07All right.
18:08Um, here's what I think you do.
18:09Go for Toby.
18:12All right.
18:12I think you just go for it.
18:16Yeah.
18:16Go in.
18:17You go that side.
18:17You go that side.
18:18All right.
18:24All right.
18:38All right.
18:43It was the panting I heard, it was so scary.
19:03That was awesome.
19:04Congratulations.
19:05So you guys have like 20 billion coins now?
19:08Yeah, about.
19:09Yeah.
19:10Okay, bye-bye.
19:11Bye.
19:12Bye-bye.
19:13Oh, oh my God, oh my God, we just passed the Bechdel test.
19:19Whoa.
19:22Yay.
19:23We said a few words to each other.
19:27Bye.
19:28Bye.
19:29Well, I don't like that they caught us, because this is a lot better of a spot for Zermatt.
19:34Oh.
19:35Okay.
19:36Okay.
19:37So we really only have one option, which is to go back to Riem.
19:42We need to figure out which way the train station is.
19:45Yeah, this way.
19:46They're gonna make fun of us for going the wrong way.
19:49Seems like it was this way.
19:51Actually, Michelle, we maybe should talk.
19:52Um, because I'm realizing we might want to do a challenge.
19:55Yeah, they're reappearing.
19:56Well, they went the wrong way.
19:58That's why they're coming back.
20:00What time was that train?
20:01It's not for a while.
20:02I don't know why they're running, because they have plenty of time.
20:05Okay.
20:06Here's what we need to figure out.
20:07Should we do a challenge?
20:09Right now?
20:10Actually, Michelle, hold this.
20:13Gonna pull a challenge right now, because there's exactly 31 minutes until our train.
20:18So if we have to veto, we need to do it immediately.
20:20All right, ready?
20:21Okay.
20:23Oh my God, I was so nervous.
20:27Locate the Chasers.
20:28You have three chances to place a single point on the map.
20:31If a team is within 10 miles of that point, you earn coins.
20:34If you get all three guesses wrong, this card is automatically vetoed.
20:39Awesome.
20:40Perfect.
20:41We just did that.
20:42Yep.
20:43So we win.
20:46We win!
20:47Okay, great.
20:48So where are Ben and Brian, actually?
20:51They should be on route back to Paris.
20:53Are they on their way back?
20:54Can you figure out exactly where they would be on that route?
20:58Okay.
21:01Ah, they did it.
21:02All right.
21:03Oh, I set up too quickly.
21:05We just got word that I guess we should get off.
21:09Oh, sure, yeah.
21:13All righty.
21:14Well, Sam and Toby have been caught, which means we got to get off here and start our 45-minute jail period.
21:21I guess that means that Sam and Toby are kind of our allies now.
21:25Our allies now.
21:26Should we collude with them?
21:27I don't know.
21:28I think we have to.
21:29I think we have to.
21:30I think we have to.
21:31Even though I'm still a little bit mad at them.
21:33We just have to, like, make sure that we do not set them up for a catch.
21:39Yeah, let's go get set up and then call Sam and Toby and see what they know because they might know something that we don't.
21:45Yeah.
21:46Oh, I feel like they know a lot of things that we don't.
21:48I have a few questions for them.
21:50I have so many questions.
21:52First of all, how dare you?
21:55That's a good question.
21:56I think we should start with that.
21:57This is a hilarious card to get right now.
22:00We'll get 800 coins, which is pretty good and probably enough for us to make our train to Strasbourg.
22:05They were coming back from Leone to Paris.
22:09They said they would arrive at 530.
22:11Okay, I can figure out what train that is then.
22:13Okay.
22:14So, surely then, they're on the 336 back to Garda Nord.
22:20So, I think that they are between Villers and Crippy.
22:25Okay.
22:26I've put in our Ben and Brian prediction.
22:33All right, Brian.
22:35We need to figure out where Adam and Michelle are going and how we can get in front of them, as always.
22:41As always, this is the game.
22:45The game.
22:46This is how the game works.
22:47The game is afoot.
22:48That is the game.
22:49As usual.
22:50The game is afoot.
22:51And we are afoot.
22:53Also.
22:54Cool.
22:55They just did We Predicted 730.
22:58Yeah.
22:59They must get our challenge and find the aces.
23:02That's a bit cheeky.
23:04Okay.
23:05So, that's 800 coins for us.
23:08That is enough now for us to get to Strasbourg.
23:11What do we do now?
23:12We wait for our wonderful train.
23:14Well, I guess what we do is we figure out...
23:17How do we get to Strasbourg confirmed without them pegging us?
23:22Should we call up Sam and Toby?
23:24We'll call them now?
23:25Yeah.
23:26Let's see if they know anything.
23:27Because they ended in such a specific spot that I sort of hope that is good for us.
23:33Hello.
23:34Hello, friends.
23:35Hello.
23:36Y'all are not in the best position for this, for catching catapult.
23:43Not necessarily.
23:44No.
23:45No.
23:46We have someone to thank for that.
23:47We'll get the details later.
23:48We'll get the details later.
23:50Sam, are we just off the bat?
23:53Are we in a...
23:54What kind of position are we in?
23:55Okay.
23:56We thought it was so over, but we've just recently come to the conclusion that it could be so back,
24:00but so back in the way that they would realize it's so back and therefore frees us to prevent it from being so back.
24:05Because basically, here's the dealio.
24:08On first glance, I thought we were going to be in one of these situations where the rest period gives them a big advantage.
24:14Because they're getting on a train now to pass.
24:17They can get down to Champanard down pretty quickly.
24:19And from there, there's a 605 train where Strasburg gets them in right before the rest period.
24:23Bing, bing, boom, done.
24:24And almost certainly, they want to go to Strasburg.
24:26Yeah, it's pretty good.
24:27However, we can get an Uber to Champanard down station directly and get that same train.
24:34So either we would catch them in Champanard down station, or at the very least, we would get the train to Strasburg and be in Strasburg,
24:41be in, you know, get to the German network.
24:43However, they would probably figure this out and freeze us.
24:47And freeze you, yeah.
24:48And they're wired.
24:49I think that they are going to figure out every possible move.
24:52All right, Michelle.
24:53Let's get on our train.
24:55Yay!
24:56It's all going to be fine and even good.
24:59Yeah, yeah.
25:00Look at that.
25:01Okay.
25:02I wish there was air conditioning in here.
25:03I thought this is hotter than it is outside.
25:05Okay, Michelle.
25:06Hi.
25:07We're on our train to, as Sam said, huh.
25:08That's the way that he pronounced it.
25:09Reams.
25:10So, once we get to huh, then we're going to transfer to Champanard down.
25:24But then we have to wait like a little over 45 minutes before the train that we want to take, which is kind of lame.
25:30But ultimately we're strong and we will persevere.
25:36We always do.
25:37Unfortunately, I think the only way out of this is that we have to use our one team freeze.
25:42Yeah.
25:43Because while we had to take this slow train back to Champaign-Ardenne from this random place that we were, Sam and Toby could take a taxi like we did.
25:52Right?
25:53And then they would beat us there and then they would catch us.
25:55So, we need to freeze them about 40 minutes before our train leaves to account for about a five minute delay.
26:03Okay.
26:04I think this is this.
26:10I got your cord out. I'm putting it back in your bag.
26:13Oh, okay.
26:14This one's air conditioned. That's nice.
26:15Okay.
26:16So, we'll get to Champaign-Ardenne as fast as we can.
26:19We'll let you know what happens.
26:21On our side, we're happy to collude. We're happy to share locations.
26:24And, you know, I think with this team, we need to give it our best shot.
26:29All right.
26:30Well, we'll share our locations with you for now.
26:32Yeah.
26:33For now.
26:34We will have a train to Paris at the end of our rest period so we can get to Paris and maybe look at how we can get, position ourselves to get to Strasbourg tomorrow.
26:45Yeah.
26:46Well, I don't know if Yale should come to Strasbourg. You could get on a very fast train down to, like, Lyon. Like, the trains to Lyon are lightning fast. They are literally, like, the fastest trains in France.
26:58From Lyon, you could pop over to Geneva. Once you're in Geneva, you're on the Swiss rail network and can position well. Just a classic question of, like, how much ground do we want to see?
27:08Okay. Well, we'll look at our options and we'll let you know. Mm-hmm. We also, uh, we want to talk them too, so.
27:15That's fair.
27:17We'll see what we can do. We'll let you know.
27:19All right. Enjoy Paris. Goodbye, Toby.
27:21Goodbye, Toby.
27:22Bye.
27:23Okay. Well, at the very least, we're in the better position.
27:27Okay.
27:28Cheeky.
27:29Cheeky.
27:30Cheeky boy.
27:31The fact of the matter is, though I do not want to work with Sam and Toby, he is not wrong.
27:36They can beat us to Strasbourg. It would be kind of pointless for us to go to Strasbourg.
27:40Oh, yeah. Yeah, I think we probably need to get ahead of them in Switzerland.
27:43You're grimacing with your full body.
27:46It's gonna be great, Brian. We're 100% gonna nail this.
27:50Let's go to the platform and at least not f*** up the first stretch of this particular plan.
27:56Yeah, get back to Paris.
27:58Okay.
27:59Oh, dear.
28:00To Paris.
28:15So, Michelle and Adam are at the station.
28:19That wasn't already clear to you. They've made it back.
28:21Yeah, the question is, did they just play a freeze?
28:24Hmm.
28:25We haven't gone on it yet, so they didn't play it, you know, immediately.
28:29Mm-hmm.
28:30As soon as we get in an Uber, it's kind of like a train, where if we get frozen in it,
28:34we just have to get off of the next stop.
28:37The stop is considered where we plan for it to go.
28:40So, once we're in it, we're going to Champagne or down for sure.
28:43We might get frozen once we're there, and that could still stop us from getting on that train.
28:46Right.
28:47Okay.
28:48One minute away.
28:49Let's, uh, let's get ready.
29:07Okay, we have to assume they're in an Uber there now.
29:10Yeah, we have to assume that.
29:12We're going to get to the train station at 518.
29:14Right.
29:16It's possible that they could have arrived by then.
29:19We just need to last until 530.
29:21Yeah.
29:22That 10-minute period.
29:25Yeah.
29:26So, here's Adam and Michelle's dilemma.
29:29Right now, it's 4.58 p.m.
29:31The train they want to take to Strasbourg leaves at 6.09, which is in 71 minutes.
29:36But the freeze only lasts 45 minutes, meaning if they froze us now, we would be unfrozen with enough time to tag them before their train leaves.
29:44So then, you would assume, they should just wait until 45 minutes before their train will leave and then freeze us.
29:50The problem there is that by that point, we will be in Champagnardin, where they're headed, and could tag them before the freeze could start.
29:57So, in order to freeze us at the right time, they need to find a way to kill time without getting caught.
30:03We should assume they will be arriving around 522.
30:07Yeah.
30:08Which, unfortunately, is right around when we arrive.
30:11No.
30:12So, we should get off early.
30:13So, I think that the safest move would be to get off a stop early.
30:18Because I think that that is the least, that's not predictable.
30:24I don't think that they would have guessed that they should go there.
30:27And then we can board the next train.
30:29We can freeze them and then board the train to follow.
30:32How much time are we sitting ducks there?
30:3415 minutes, which I think would be okay.
30:38So, we just have to get off the train and kill 15 minutes and not get caught.
30:42Yeah.
30:43And then freeze them.
30:44I'm so stressed.
30:45I can't.
30:46Okay.
30:47Are we getting off?
30:48Yeah.
30:49Okay.
30:54Oh my god.
30:55Oh, something else that we should probably do is we should go ahead and pull a challenge right now.
30:59Adam, I did a bad job pulling straws this morning.
31:01I'm really nervous about this.
31:02Alright.
31:03Pick one.
31:07Get lucky on coin flips.
31:10Get lucky on coin flips.
31:12Get a coin to land on heads seven times in a row.
31:15Good luck.
31:16That's fine.
31:17We'll just do that for the whole time that we're hanging out here.
31:19Do you have a coin on you by any chance?
31:21Uh, no I don't.
31:23Do you?
31:24No, I don't think I do.
31:25Okay.
31:26Let's look on the ground.
31:27Yeah.
31:28I've found that finding coins on the ground is harder than you might think it would be.
31:31Okay.
31:32And we're positive they're not rerouting to us right now on their e-book.
31:35Oh, we're not positive about that at all.
31:38Yeah, they might be doing something weird.
31:40So they, like, they go out at this random station, right?
31:44Yeah.
31:45It just throws a wrench into things because now we have a bit of a choice probably.
31:49Do we take this line and try to, um, try to catch them?
31:53Seven in a row?
31:54Yeah.
31:55Damn, that seems hard.
31:57Yeah, there's been a lot of sort of discourse about if this is basically impossible or not.
32:02I don't really know.
32:03Has this been accomplished previously?
32:06Uh, no.
32:07I got close.
32:08I got to six three different times.
32:10Come on.
32:24All right.
32:25Yeah, pizza.
32:26Let's see if we can find, like, a store so that we can get a coin.
32:29All right, let's buy something cheap.
32:33Is that sunscreen?
32:34Yeah.
32:35I think we should walk back so we can call it from the, uh, frame.
32:40Walk back where?
32:41Where do you want to walk back to?
32:42To the train station.
32:43Why?
32:44It doesn't leave till, uh, 542.
32:46I don't think we should walk back to the train station.
32:48I think that's the easiest place for them to go.
32:50I think that we need to try to get into, like, these weird streets.
32:52I hate this feeling of being chased.
32:54This sucks.
32:55Oh, yeah.
32:56You'll get used to it, though.
32:57I don't like it.
33:00Oh, my God, that child running.
33:02Yeah, that was scary.
33:03There was a kid running behind us.
33:06The thing that really starts to get you is whenever you hear a sound,
33:09what's funny is the audience knows where they are.
33:11They know that they're probably not anywhere close to here.
33:13They're right there.
33:14What?
33:15They're so close.
33:16Okay.
33:17Well, actually, here's what they might be doing.
33:20They could be doing a challenge, because they have a later train.
33:25They could take that to Champagnon-Ordon and still make a TGV.
33:29Mm-hmm.
33:30I feel like they probably will have thought through this, and therefore, we will probably get frozen.
33:34Probably fairly soon.
33:36If they're playing as we thought they would play, they'll get a freeze in probably a minute or two.
33:40All right.
33:41Merci.
33:42Merci.
33:43Merci.
33:44Merci.
33:45It's 526 now.
33:46Would you like to activate it now?
33:47Yeah.
33:48Okay.
33:49526.
33:50So, we're starting at 531.
33:51Yep.
33:52All right.
33:53I think that we shouldn't stay in this field for too long.
33:54It's probably going to be fine, and probably all of this is going to get really cut down,
33:55because it was never relevant in the first place.
33:56We're making our way back to the train station, but we're doing it funky style.
34:11Oh, we should be flipping coins.
34:13As we go?
34:14Yeah.
34:15Okay.
34:16All right.
34:17Here.
34:18I'm going to give you a coin too.
34:19Okay.
34:20To see seven in a row.
34:21That's one.
34:22That's two.
34:23I can't do this one.
34:24Nope.
34:25One.
34:27Nope.
34:29One.
34:30Two.
34:32Three.
34:34Four.
34:35We're at four.
34:37Five.
34:39Just two more.
34:41Six.
34:44No.
34:46Are you kidding me?
34:47Are you kidding me?
34:48Yeah.
34:49It's how it goes sometimes.
34:52I know.
34:53Every sound is very frightening.
34:54Are you going to let them know?
34:55And Michelle, the freeze is active.
34:58We have not been tagged and they are frozen now.
35:03Oh my God.
35:04I hope you like this bench.
35:05It's our home.
35:07Well, you brought some snacks for you.
35:08For the next 45 minutes.
35:10We done got frozen, Toby.
35:11It's okay.
35:12It's okay.
35:13I think we'll catch them up somewhere else.
35:15Yeah.
35:16I mean, it's kind of what we anticipated to happen.
35:18At least we got here and we're not stuck out there.
35:21In the middle of nowhere, yeah.
35:22All right.
35:23Let's go back to the train station.
35:24While we do, let's flip our wonderful coins.
35:27One.
35:29Two.
35:31Three.
35:33Four.
35:35Five.
35:36Nope.
35:37Nope.
35:38Nope.
35:39Nope.
35:40Nope.
35:41Nope.
35:42Nope.
35:43Nope.
35:45Nope.
35:46Isn't this fun?
35:47Let's check.
35:48Let's check how soon.
35:50Oh, this could be really important.
35:52Let's check our first train to Strasburg in the morning.
35:55Oh.
35:57Oh.
36:00Oh.
36:01Our first train to Strasburg in the morning is 8.41 a.m.
36:048.41 a.m.
36:068.41.
36:07We can't really like that one.
36:08That would give them a four and a half hour lead.
36:12That's...
36:13That...
36:14We...
36:16We can't deal with that.
36:17Yeah, that's a lot.
36:18But, um...
36:21That is bad, Toby.
36:24That's a lot.
36:25We might be done...
36:27We don't remember.
36:28Might be done f***ed, as they say in the biz.
36:30Toby?
36:31I mean, can we send Ben and Brian?
36:33Well, they're...
36:34It might just be...
36:35It might...
36:36It might be kind of their game at this point.
36:43Okay.
36:44Sam and Toby have been frozen.
36:46As predicted.
36:47So, I think that...
36:48That, uh...
36:49Is gonna give...
36:51Adam and Michelle a clear path to Strasburg.
36:53I mean, yeah.
36:54It's like...
36:55We can get to, like, Basel by, like, 10.30 tomorrow...
36:59Morning.
37:00So, that's the fastest we can get there.
37:03And...
37:04I feel like that's not gonna be fast enough.
37:06What else could we do?
37:08I'll go to Zurich.
37:09Is it possible for us to get to Zurich?
37:10Zurich?
37:12Uh...
37:13Look into it.
37:15Are we going by Charles de Gaulle right now?
37:18Or is the...
37:19The Reiner...
37:21The Reiner isn't crazy.
37:23Hmm.
37:27Hmm.
37:28We position ourselves at the airport.
37:29Like...
37:30Is there, like, a flight to Zurich first thing?
37:32Probably.
37:34Let's see.
37:35There's a...
37:366.45 gets into Zurich at 8 a.m.
37:39That might actually be better...
37:41Than going to Dijon.
37:43Yeah, it is better.
37:44God, I think that this actually gets us in front of them quickly.
37:47Yeah.
37:48And this is allowed?
37:49Oh, it's allowed.
37:50It's never been done.
37:52But it is allowed.
37:53Should we tell Sam and Toby?
37:55No.
37:59We have to commit to that right now.
38:00Yeah, let's get up.
38:01It's five miles away.
38:08Let's make sure this flight is real.
38:10Oh, it's real.
38:12I'm booking it.
38:13Alright.
38:14Airport it is.
38:16That gives me more hope, honestly.
38:19A little bit more hope.
38:20I wasn't, I wasn't, like, too jazzed about spending another four hours on a train, honestly.
38:26Well, let's, let's wake things up.
38:28Yeah.
38:30One.
38:32Two.
38:35Three.
38:37Four.
38:39Nope.
38:40Nope.
38:41Nope.
38:42Nope.
38:43Nope.
38:44Nope.
38:45Nope.
38:46Nope.
38:47Okay.
38:48Let's figure out if we're on the right side.
38:50There should be a departure board over there.
38:52I need that.
38:54One.
38:55Two.
38:57No.
38:58See, it's such a fun game.
38:59It's so f***ed up that I drew this challenge both times we had it.
39:03That's one.
39:04Two.
39:06No.
39:07Three.
39:08Was that four?
39:09It was three.
39:10Okay.
39:11Are you having so much fun flipping the Germans?
39:12I'm gonna have lots of fun when we're on that train to Strasbourg.
39:13You know what I'm saying?
39:14Thank you for booking Ben Doyle.
39:15I believe it.
39:16Yeah, you're very welcome.
39:17Boom.
39:18Six forty five.
39:19First ever flight of tank.
39:20No one is going to see this move coming.
39:21And that's what I like about it.
39:22Unless they do, but they're not.
39:23My main concern is just being on the plate, like on the play board.
39:30I don't want us like off on the side.
39:33Not being helpful.
39:34No, it's true.
39:35I mean, frankly, it's not being helpful.
39:37You know, it's not being helpful, but it's not being helpful.
39:40It's not being helpful.
39:43It's not being helpful.
39:44It's not being helpful.
39:45It's not being helpful.
39:46side not being helpful no it's true i mean frankly if adam and michelle really get in front of
39:53sam and toby they could just win 100 so us being in zurich at least gives us the assurance that
40:00like we are in front yeah yeah okay let's go to the airport i sure hope this isn't stupid
40:05i sure hope i sure hope there aren't very brilliant teens at home watching this
40:10who figured out why this is so stupid and they're commenting this is so stupid ben and brian why are
40:16you doing this i think it's a good idea yeah i mean i've been there watching it and being like oh
40:21why did you do that but it's completely different when you're in the moment dense i know we're trying
40:26to do good leave us alone all right back to flipping one it's honestly so frustrating how quickly i got
40:42six it made me feel so much hope in my heart i know no oh there they are now they're probably
40:51searching at the station hey guys hello what's up jay chilling it was really annoying that we had to
40:59use that but we sort of had no choice yeah anyway you want to watch me flip a coin uh seven times and
41:05have it land on heads can you look in okay here we go nope all right but this one's gonna be it
41:11you ready nope all right but this one's gonna be it nope but this time it's gonna be it
41:17this time it's gonna be it that's great that's five tails in a row if i get seven tails in a row
41:24i'm gonna kill myself all right michelle let's sit down let's i know you guys have no idea what
41:30we've been through today enjoy your peace over there three no
41:37it's here early yeah yeah it won't leave for 10 minutes michelle we still have 10 good coin
41:50flipping minutes okay great one still a child so get distracted enough to miss it no no no one
42:00no oh my god one that was fine three four one no one two two three four five
42:20six six i'm at six
42:22oh he's finally done it oh my god go adam
42:43all right all right michelle let's get on our trip
42:48bye get stuck
42:53that's what i have to say to you good job i'll politely say goodbye because i think you guys
42:59are great those coins really well bye guys
43:03good to go that was awesome adam thank you so much get your revenge i did it
43:09nobody believed in me all right let's give mr benjamin doyle and mr brian
43:15a little call sam's calling us uh-oh you want to take this brian i fold so quickly i'm way too
43:23i fold more quickly i'm such an honest person i can't help but
43:25sam and toby hello what's your status um so they just got on the train to strasburg so obviously we're
43:34not gonna get on it unless it gets mega delayed our only real choice is like we have a couple trains
43:39back to paris mostly to charles de gaulle so not downtown we checked and there's not really an
43:49advantageous flight in the morning when when do you get back to when could you get back to paris
43:54we could get back by the rest period basically okay and so are y'all gonna make it to dijon
44:00probably not no we are not going to dijon
44:05are you being
44:09we're being coy well you then we're not we're then we're not helping bye
44:15okay okay okay goodbye bye-bye wait wait um yeah i shouldn't leave my bag by itself
44:22why does sam think oh he's calling us thanks
44:26hello again okay i'd like to negotiate because there's so little value in this point in the game
44:35okay okay okay okay we are not going to strasburg we are trying to get in front of them okay if you
44:40don't tell us what you're doing we're going to paris
44:42then we should tell them what we're doing okay we're in a bad situation right now they're about
44:53to get a huge head start we can't afford to not cooperate well we figured out how to get ahead of
45:01them okay great we're gonna there is a 645 from charles de gaulle to zurich you mean flight
45:08yeah flight you think you can get through charles de gaulle security to the terminal in 45 minutes
45:15i think we could try we're gonna we're gonna end our day it's risky but how busy can it be
45:23charles de gaulle airport is like hell on earth it is hell on earth it is in fact my least favorite
45:28airport i've gone on the record look if you make it that's great however i just think that that's
45:33massively risky and now we don't have a good secondary route if you took the first train
45:38in the morning towards leon or geneva then you can physically get in front of them at best we can
45:47get to basel at like 10 30. but that is that is guaranteed in front of them i don't know if it is
45:55and and you don't need to go to basel you need to get to like geneva look i think the flight is
46:02gonna work it very well might but i just think that that's a very risky plan what what do you want
46:08to do i don't know we now have to go back to the drawing board okay go back to the drawing board and
46:13let us know what you're gonna do okay maybe bye okay bye we'll see sam is king of underestimating
46:21how quickly people can get through airport security i think this is our uber hi
46:26okay well that is annoying i think that's good for them that's actually great news because
46:45i think they'll make it yeah i think that this is better than them going to be john i think it is
46:51slightly likelier than not that they will make it however it's just so risky and i think there
46:56would have been a train route that would have been safer for them oh we're going we're going we're
47:02we're going to buy out there okay so what can they do they would go to paris and fly
47:23I think somebody should fly to Bradley Geneva.
47:26We'll see.
47:28We need to look at what their options are.
47:30Actually, their options may be really, really bad.
47:42Well, hey there.
47:43Thank you for watching this episode on Nebula.
47:46And, well, hey there.
47:48Why not check out the Layover podcast?
47:50This episode, we've got Toby on.
47:53And it's going to be a lot of fun.
47:55I got a gripe.
47:56Okay, great.
47:57You know these children's shows?
47:59You know what I hate about them?
48:00That they're not for adults.
48:02The kids are gatekeeping Paw Patrol and s***.
48:05Yeah.
48:06And they don't let me watch it, which is rude.
48:08They don't let you?
48:09No.
48:10So what we did is we made a children's show for adults.
48:13We, as in Nebula and Maggie Mae Fish and her creative team,
48:16decided to make a children's show for adults.
48:19It's pretty great.
48:20It's called Amy's Dead and Dream House.
48:22They talk about cool things like friend breakups
48:26and other weighty subjects like that.
48:29I had a friend breakup when I was little,
48:32but Amy's Dead and Dream House didn't exist yet,
48:34so it destroyed me.
48:36Yeah.
48:37All right.
48:38Well, watch that.
48:38Pretty good.
48:39Bye.
