00:15Oh, it's been nuts. Like if we go through photos in your phone every once in a while when you're bored and then looking at everything that has happened in 2018 and in the beginning of 2019 is crazy how many things happened. It's a lot to take in.
00:28It's a lot to take in and your fans are just crazy about you. They are crazy about you. What do you have to say to them right now?
00:37Well, you know, the CBS thing came out. There was a thing and I cried on TV and that happens sometimes. And the response that my fans gave back was so overwhelmingly full of love.
00:46And I know they're crazy. I know they're rabid. I know they're thirsty like I am. But they are the absolute. I mean, country music has the best fans in the world anyway.
00:56But specifically mine, my tribe is just, they are crazy cool.
00:59They're crazy. I love them. I love your music. Girl going nowhere. I truly, honestly, was coming back from an event the other day and I sat in the back of a cab and I sobbed when it came on.
01:09Because I never took the time to sit and think about, you know, just, it makes you sit and think about where you have been and where you are now.
01:20Do you listen to that yourself and think the same thing?
01:24I've probably played it close to a thousand times now. And it's one of those songs that I try not to, we try not to do it in rehearsals and things like that because never, ever, ever want that song to feel done.
01:35And it just depends on where you're standing and who you're singing it in front of. That feeling, that gravity of what you're doing and where you've come, it changes every time and it still feels just as heavy. So I love that song.
01:45I love it. Now looking ahead at 2019, obviously 2018 was huge. How are you going to make 2019 even bigger?
01:51We got some crazy tours in 2019. We were out with Little Big Town for the very first part of the year. We just announced some more shows with Miranda Lambert and that includes Maren Morris and L King and Pistol Annie's all on the same ticket and festival season is going to be a blast.
02:03But before we do that, we got to start record two. We have a job to do.
02:07You have a duty.
02:09Yes. At the end of April, we will go in, we will rehearse for three days. When we feel like we've got the songs picked out, we'll go cut them.
02:14I love it. And now just very briefly, what's inspiring your music right now and what you're, you know, starting to bring up?
02:24I'm trying to read more right now because that's one of the things that starts to die off when you're touring. You don't have time to sit down and read.
02:29But the coolest thing that I'm able to be inspired by now is everybody we get to meet and the stories that you get to hear.
02:34And if you can just get over yourself for two seconds and listen to what someone has to say to you, even though you're busy and you have to go do a thing, that's where you get to real human connection, which is where music comes from.
02:44And you're going to be on this, like you said, powerhouse female tour. Why is just being a woman in country so important to you?
02:51This is a really good time to be a woman in country music. And, you know, like when there's two chicks at a party and there's a chance that one of them might not like each other.
02:58You know, it might be like that when you get into country music and it's just not like that.
03:01Women in country music lift each other up. We support each other. We're more likely to go into a bar and get a drink together than we are to try to trip each other up on the carpet, you know?
03:08I love that so much. I love that. And you all, I want to get a drink with everybody, actually.
