00:00This is a significant investment by the UK government today, over £120 million to secure, of course, the 500 jobs here at the ethanol cracker at Grangemouth.
00:12But more than that, the job is in the supply chain as well, and not just for this year, but for many years to come.
00:19The British people and people in Scotland voted for change last year, and we are determined to deliver that change.
00:25They elected local MP Brian Leishman, and they elected a Labour government with more Scottish Labour MPs.
00:33And that change means more good jobs, paying decent wages, and that's exactly why we've stepped in to provide this support alongside business,
00:42because there has to be a viable path to profitability. There is one here, and that's why we were able to step in as a government.
00:49But as well as good jobs, paying decent wages, we also know that we need to do more to tackle the ongoing challenges about the cost of living.
