00:00So in my Mays lecture, I'm going to be setting out the big choices this government is taking to bring
00:06jobs and growth to the UK.
00:08And specifically on AI, there are massive opportunities for the UK.
00:13We've invested a lot in science and research, but too often those companies drift abroad when they start raising finance
00:21and growing.
00:22And so we're putting £2 billion into something we are so good at in the UK, and that is quantum
00:28computing.
00:28Because I want to keep those jobs here, I want to keep that investment here, and as we grow our
00:35economy, I want working people in Britain to feel the benefits.
00:39And so an active and strategic state, working with businesses, working with universities, and working with working people, so that
00:47we can secure that investment for Britain and keep those jobs here.
