00:00Her love don't cost a thing, but her dress does.
00:07Jennifer Lopez's iconic Versace jungle print dress is at the middle of a battle between
00:12the iconic Italian brand and Fashion Nova.
00:15Versace is suing the fast fashion retailer for alleged copyright and trademark infringements
00:21on reproductions of the dress.
00:23The look J.Lo made famous at the 2000 Grammys and rocked on the runway again this year involved
00:29in the suit is the headliner.
00:31Fashion Nova even calls its version of the dress the love don't cost a thing two piece
00:36costume set.
00:37But Versace claims Fashion Nova also infringed on two other design patterns.
00:42The suit claims Fashion Nova's infringing apparel is plainly a deliberate effort to exploit the
00:47popularity and renown of Versace's signature designs and to trade on Versace's valuable
00:53goodwill and business reputation.
00:56Versace is looking for an injunction, recall of the dresses and for payment including
01:01all profits Fashion Nova made on the dresses.
01:04Versace isn't the first high profile attack on knock off dressmakers this year.
01:09Kim Kardashian tweeted back in February,
01:11It's devastating to see these fashion companies rip off designs that have taken the blood, sweat, and tears of true designers who have put their all into their own original ideas.
01:22Fashion Nova hasn't commented yet.
01:24Versace said in the suit it fears consumers will be, quote, confused and deceived into thinking
01:31Fashion Nova designs are the real thing, which would be, quote, tarnishing and degrading to Versace's image.
