Jennifer Lawrence found herself having to defend her choice of attire after media coverage questioned her decision to wear a Versace gown in the cold, while her male counterparts bundled up.

00:26dress in the cold controversy, wrote the actress in a characteristically dry Facebook post.

00:30This is not only utterly ridiculous. I am extremely offended.

00:34That Versace dress was fabulous. You think I'm going to cover that gorgeous dress up with a coat and a scarf?

00:39She makes a good point.

00:41Taking a more serious tone, she continued,

00:43This is sexist. This is ridiculous. This is not feminism.

00:47Overreacting about everything someone says or does, creating controversy over silly, innocuous

00:52things such as what I choose to wear or not wear is not moving us forward.

00:56It's creating silly distractions from real issues.

00:59Many of the online comments criticizing the couture seem to think that Lawrence had been given

01:03no choice but to wear the gown and was forced to wear the sexy outfit.

01:07An exasperated Lawrence explained she was only outside for five minutes in the 48 degree weather.

01:12And she provided this reminder, she can wear what she wants.

01:16Lawrence concluded her Facebook post with a very clear message.

01:19Get a grip, people. Everything you see me wear is my choice.

01:22And if I want to be called, that's my choice, too!
