00:00But what are the set parameters?
00:07You must enhance the level of freedom,
00:11media freedom in this country.
00:13What are the limitations?
00:16Still, the race, religious card.
00:19To me, people say, well, Anwar is not consistent.
00:24It's not true.
00:26Reality is something else that's beyond us.
00:31They've insisted that since they are not players,
00:35they can respond as other politicians can,
00:39so they want to be given that reprieve.
00:44But if you continue to use every single issue from race card,
00:49these people should be questioned.
00:52Never mind what laws, what amended laws.
00:54Because to my mind, you can talk about freedom,
00:58you can talk about economic growth,
01:00but I don't want to sacrifice security of this country.
01:02It sounds like the reactionary,
01:05but I don't want to use this also to condone some unnecessary actions.
01:12I mean, there have been some cases that the police took action,
01:15and I've advised them, don't.
01:18When it comes to, for example, burning Anwar's photo,
01:22or calling Anwar, turun Anwar, whatever,
01:25I say, don't, let it be.
01:28But of course, there is a limit when you say,
01:31you go and say that he, as I said just now,
01:35he has AIDS, okay, he's a paid agent of Israel.
01:42I mean, there are also some limits, you know what I mean?
01:46So I think, whilst we should not use these instances to curb freedom,
01:52okay, which means the media council has this task of advising them
01:58and where are the, you know, specific legislation or parts of the legislation
02:03or provisions that inhibit freedom, you can advise.
02:08And I will certainly convey to the cabinet and to Farming
02:11to take up seriously the recommendations.
02:17But of course, we need some very responsible media too, you know,
02:21because everybody is competing and they can be champion
02:25or there are various races, factions.
02:28It can be, you know, nasty for the country.
02:31We went through hell.
02:32People tend to forget the fact that this is a multiracial,
02:36multirigious country.
02:38So allow some space, but you must also draw the line.
02:44Is this a statement to curb? No.
02:51No.
02:52But at least to recommend to us what are the limits.
02:55You tell us.
02:56It's not the Ministry of Home Affairs.
03:01Let the media council advise us what you think should be the line drawn,
03:07to be drawn.
03:09Enjoy the class of the meeting and have your safe journey.
03:21Thank you very much.
