Our primary purpose is to glorify God. To enjoy Him. Forever.
How can we purpose to give God glory? What does glorifying God look like?
God is DUE GLORY. Psalms 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
We are called to glorify Him. It should be an imperative in our lives. 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
It is right that you give God glory. God’s glory is due Him ALONE, not man. Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
What happens when the glory goes? Ichabod. 1 Samuel 4:21-22 And she named the child Ichabod ...The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken. The ark, the presence of God, was taken from Israel. It was the judgment of God.
How sad - to lose the glory. For God’s glory to leave the place of worship. This is happening in many places now, where the Word of God is being replaced with trifles. The worship of God is being replaced with entertainment and performance.
It happened with Samson… Judges 16:20 The Lord was departed from him. The glory of God was gone out of his life. And he didn’t even realise it.
Some churches and movement, and men, are like that today. Their love for the Lord has grown cold, their light has become dim. They are not the same gospel witness that they once were. And some aren’t even conscious of it.
