00:00Hey, boss. Just another day in this waking nightmare, eh?
00:03Haven't seen you around since the demo.
00:05We have lots of new bells and whistles for survivor inspection,
00:08base building, and, well, keeping people like me alive.
00:11Next!
00:13This place ain't exactly a well-oiled machine,
00:15but it doesn't really have to be.
00:17We just need to ID the infected and provide safe passage to healthy survivors.
00:21You can operate most of the base from that tablet, so keep it handy.
00:25Like I said, a lot has changed, so let's go over some of the highlights.
00:29Each day, you're going to have a line of folks desperate to get in,
00:33so check them one at a time.
00:34We have all the classic zombie scanning tools, and even some fancy new ones.
00:39Many of them are upgradable, too,
00:40so keep them on the cutting edge to stay ahead of the curve.
00:43This here is the Marioscope to check for viral infection in the eyes.
00:48The portable x-ray is a new one, too,
00:50and it's great for checking these flash bags for signs of zombie stuff
00:53and a deeper look to root out any contraband.
00:56Yeah, we'll talk more on that later.
00:57I also found this hammer for checking reflexes, but please be careful.
01:02It's a bit more nuanced than the other devices,
01:04and you can end up doing more harm than good if you're not careful.
01:08So, every survivor we save and every potential zombie you terminate
01:12gets us a little cash money from the bosses back at HQ.
01:16Each survivor we get on a convoy to safety
01:18means more funds for supplies, upgrades, and a pizza party on Fridays.
01:23Use that cash to expand the base, keep resources full,
01:27and make some upgrades to security, living quarters, power grids, and more.
01:32Speaking of upgrades,
01:34HQ really wants us to do some research on the front lines
01:37to see if they can find a cure,
01:39but I can't say I'm holding out much hope for a scientific breakthrough.
01:42You'll eventually have access to some upgrades like this fancy,
01:47sterile lab to gather data on infection, symptoms, and mutations.
01:51Assign symptomatic survivors to the lab and do some science.
01:55And by do some science, I mean remove their organs against their will,
02:00run some tests, and make the lab equipment go brr.
02:03Sheesh, he's not getting up, is he?
02:08Believe it or not, the new zombie cage is even less pleasant.
02:12We can lock down these creepers inside the research center
02:15and snag some undead flesh samples.
02:17Great for scientific progress,
02:19but not so great for you
02:21because you're going to need to feed them dead bodies
02:23from the old dead body pile.
02:27Ah, nuts.
02:27Looks like we got a zombie breach.
02:30Time to spin up the defense drones and let the ammunition fly.
02:33The base has some pretty solid defense systems,
02:36including upgradable drones armed to the teeth for defending the perimeter.
02:40But we still do get a stray infected that makes the throw
02:44or drops in from the buildings above.
02:46In that case, we go the old-fashioned way and hunt them down on foot.
02:51Okay, so that's some of the new stuff,
02:54but there's a lot more to discover.
02:56Oh, and before I forget,
02:58these survivors sometimes try to sneak in contraband,
03:01so have a look through their bags and backpacks, too.
03:04Grab weapons, infected items,
03:06and anything that looks suspicious.
03:09I can't believe I have to say this,
03:11but some of these clowns try to hide stuff up their ass.
03:14That's why I ordered the portable x-ray
03:16after we found some questionable stuff
03:18in even more questionable places.
03:20Boy, I hope I get reassigned soon.
03:24So, yeah, lots of new stuff in the old quarantine zone.
03:28This line ain't getting any shorter,
03:30so let's keep this corpse conga line going,
03:32because the mess hall is serving chicken nuggets,
03:34and I skipped lunch.
03:37Wish list now,
03:38or whatever that means.
03:39Have a nice day.
03:41Have a nice day.
03:41Have a nice day.
03:43Take care.
03:44Bye.
03:44Bye.
03:44Bye.
