00:00Today we're celebrating a hundred babies born through the Womindah Birth Young Country
00:06Womindah Gujarga program and so we've invited all of our mums and families and our beautiful
00:12babies along just to celebrate them and and thanking them and to trust us to provide you
00:21know this beautiful honouring care for them. Yeah can you tell me the the work that you do and what
00:27this program is in your words? Well the work we do is holistic and wrap around. We are an Aboriginal
00:35health Aboriginal women's health service and we provide our mums with maternity care
00:44from conception all the way up until eight weeks postpartum just in our program but Womindah
00:49itself is from conception all the way to the end of life so we're a program within the bigger
00:55organisation. So yeah we provide midwifery care Aboriginal practitioner-led clinics,
01:03GP clinic, we do women's reproductive and sexual health, child and family health
01:10and transport and case management and all of those things that support mums to have a very
01:17positive pregnancy experience and so culturally cultural safety is about meeting the woman where
01:25she's at listening to her and making sure that she has access to culture and that she is respected in
01:34on her terms and she is able to practice ceremony she's able to cleanse her baby at birth she's able to
01:44have access to a service like Womindah where we support change the systemic racism and systemic policy
01:50that is culturally safe and also having a having Womindah led by Aboriginal women in community that's
01:57a force that's on its own you know so that's culturally safe so the people that work within Womindah
02:03we work with a cultural lens whether we're Koori or imperfect allies so it's absolutely
02:11our ways of knowing being and willing yeah
