Russian troops say they are carrying out mop-up operations in the town of Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) after taking control of the area, according to footage and statements released from the frontline.
In video released by Russian sources, soldiers claim Ukrainian forces attempted to infiltrate positions following the takeover but were repelled. “The enemy is trying to infiltrate, but they have no chance,” one serviceman says, describing ongoing security sweeps and consolidation of positions.
Krasnoarmeysk is viewed as a strategically significant area amid continued fighting in eastern Ukraine, where both sides are seeking to secure supply routes and defensive lines. Russian forces say operations are now focused on clearing remaining resistance and stabilising the town.
