00:00And finally, Ed Sheeran is getting candid about his struggle with a binge eating disorder and
00:05his depression. In a new profile for Rolling Stone, the singer opened up about suffering
00:10from depression as a result of the death of his close friend Jamal Edwards and then his wife
00:15Cherry Seaborn's illness. The Thinking Out Loud singer admitted that while he'd struggled with
00:20depression in the past, this was especially difficult, saying, I felt like I didn't want
00:24to live anymore. Ed later explained that as a father, he had felt embarrassed about suffering
00:29from depression and said that he felt like his feelings were selfish. Well, now he is on the
00:34mend after working on his music and going to therapy to heal. Similarly, Ed opened up about
00:40struggling with binge eating, telling the outlet he would start gorging himself until it would come
00:44up again. Ed said, I'm a real binge eater. I'm a binge everything, but I'm now more of a binge
00:50exerciser and a binge dad and work, obviously. The singer added that where he comes from, people
00:57don't talk much about their feelings or get help for them, but he's come around to feeling
01:01like it's been helpful to speak with someone and vent without feeling guilty about it.
01:06Hopefully, his openness inspires others to do the same. We certainly can't wait for his
01:11new album to drop on May 5th.
