00:00It's a big night tonight with the Oscars, but also for this event.

00:03As LGBTQ plus rights are under attack by the Trump administration,

00:07why is an event like this so important?

00:09Well, I think it's so inspiring that Elton has been so steadfast in fundraising

00:14and raising awareness around AIDS.

00:19And I think, I just think about historically getting the perspective

00:25of how hard gay, trans, and queer people have had to fight

00:30for our health and safety for so long.

00:36I think that gives me a lot of comfort because it shows that we have the stamina.

00:43We're just going to be able to stick around no matter what through all these hardships.

00:47Beyond just health and safety, having fun and enjoying time.

00:53Because, you know, it's bare bones like rights that are under attack.

00:59But, like, in addition to surviving and having all the rights that you deserve,

01:04like, you should be having fun and feeling peace and enjoying each other's company.

01:10So, more fun for the gays.

01:14Yeah.
