Suspended Hsinchu Mayor Kao Hung-an's corruption conviction has been overturned by the High Court. Kao is allowed to commute a separate six-month sentence to a fine and says she's now working to resume her position.

00:00In a major reversal, a high court has ruled suspended Xinzu Mayor Gao Hong and not guilty of corruption charges.
00:07Gao was convicted in July last year of fraudulently applying for assistant fees during her time as a legislator.
00:13She was originally sentenced to over seven years in prison.
00:16While that corruption charge has now been dropped, the high court did sentence her to six months for forgery.
00:22Gao's prison time can be commuted to a fine and then she can return to serving as Mayor Xinzu, which she says she does intend to do.
