00:08That's two-tenths of a second improvement from Damon Hill.

00:12And now he has got a clear circuit.

00:15And this is a chance that Damon Hill certainly needs,

00:17because he will not be distracted by anything ahead of him.

00:20Certainly a lazy on the climb back up the hill would have been a distraction.

00:25And that would have accounted for certainly at least two, if not three-tenths of a second.

00:30On his way to the first intermediate point, well, he's quicker.

00:36Can he carry the speed, John?

00:37Well, it's in this part of the circuit where we saw Prost be so outstanding.

00:41And it's in corners like this reverse corner where Prost is just so good.

00:47His feel, his ability to ease a car into the corner, yet pick up the throttle and let the car work, not overdrive it.

00:56So this is really critical for Damon Hill, whose use in relative terms to Alain Prost.

01:05And his determination and his motivation is so high right now that he will be looking for any fractions of seconds he can find.

01:15On our way to the second intermediate point here at Spa, with Damon Hill being a little bit faster than Alain Prost.

01:26Well, he's maintained it now.

01:28It's up the hill, and this is where Damon's abilities, I would have said, are coming to the fore,

01:33because he professes to love high-speed corners.

01:36You can't have them much quicker than Blanchemont.

01:38It's now down into the bus stop chicane.

01:41It's a question of braking early, not overdriving, getting on the power early and being smooth out of the bus stop chicane.

01:48Can he now carry the speed up?

01:50He's got to beat 48.9, 48.7.
