00:00Why are people betting on this?
00:02Is there money being exchanged?
00:03I want in on this dude. Give me like a cut.
00:05Yeah, we need like 20% at least.
00:07Yeah.
00:08That's it?
00:09Yeah, I'll take a low percentage, dude.
00:10Oh, man.
00:11Cash is cash.
00:16Do you swear to tell the truth?
00:18Only the truth. Everything but the...
00:20Everything and the truth.
00:21Wait, just one more time.
00:22Do you swear to tell the truth?
00:23Only the truth.
00:24Everything has to be the truth?
00:28No.
00:29No.
00:30No, I don't want that.
00:31Oh, okay.
00:32Do you swear to tell the truth?
00:33The whole truth and nothing but the truth?
00:36Eh.
00:42Tell your worst audition story.
00:43You would never lie to me, right?
00:44When I was first starting, I went to audition for Nickelodeon
00:47and they made me sing,
00:48but I didn't think they were going to make me sing.
00:50I learned my lines in the car ride there like the whole time
00:52and I got there and I forgot all of it.
00:55And they made me sing and I picked a Queen song and I can't do that.
00:58So I really, I didn't get it at all.
01:02That 100% sounds like something that would have happened to you.
01:05Yeah, that is true.
01:06That is totally true.
01:07I kind of thought you were lying until you said you picked a Queen song.
01:11That's something that like eight-year-old Walker would have been like,
01:13this is what I'm going to...
01:14That's not what I really sounded like though.
01:16It feels like an interrogation.
01:21I kind of love it.
01:22I wish we did more interviews like this, you know what I mean?
01:24Yeah, we never get to...
01:25This is our first interview together.
01:26We never get to just talk to each other.
01:27Yeah, this is great.
01:28Talk about a fan encounter that stuck with you.
01:30I was in Boulder, Colorado, like visiting...
01:33I was out visiting the college town.
01:36There's like an insomnia...
01:38You know what that is, right?
01:39Mm-hmm.
01:40It's like a really small glass shop.
01:41It's probably about the size of this box that's set up here.
01:44And I was waiting outside.
01:45You know, there was a girl in there.
01:47College age girl.
01:48And she saw me.
01:50I could tell that she was having some trouble like knowing whether or not she recognized me.
01:54She was like...
01:55She was pointing at you doing that?
01:57Yeah, like kind of.
01:59Well, she was with her friends and she was like...
02:04And basically, I just looked away from her.
02:06And then this really, really drunk girl...
02:08It was like a Friday night.
02:09A hugely drunk girl came up to us and was like,
02:12Oh my God, you guys should go ahead of us.
02:14I'm not even lying.
02:16This is my friend, Jessica.
02:18And she was just like rambling on.
02:20I was like, what is your name?
02:21And I...
02:22I don't know why, but I felt the need to lie.
02:23I was like, my name's Ryan.
02:25And she was like, what did you say?
02:27And I felt so bad about the fact that I just lied about my own name.
02:31I was like, who do I think I am?
02:32And I was like, oh, my name's Arian.
02:34And then the girl inside the glass shop heard that and was like...
02:37And then like 40 drunk college girls swarmed me.
02:41And then the original, like really, really drunk one who got my name...
02:44I was feeling pretty uncomfortable.
02:45I put my hands in my back pockets.
02:47I was like backing up.
02:48You're really confusing me here.
02:50And then she reached around, put her hand inside of my back pocket.
02:59It's true.
03:00Are you okay?
03:02I thought you were lying because of the...
03:04You described insomnia cookies way too much.
03:07I was going to say true.
03:08I'm in your head.
03:09I was going to say true because I knew that you would try to make it sound like a lie.
03:14So I thought you were lying.
03:15No, it's fully...
03:16She reached around, put her hand inside my back pocket with my hand already in there.
03:20There's not enough room in the back pocket of jeans for more than one hand.
03:24She lingered there like a little bit longer than I would have liked, frankly.
03:29Not that I would have liked it at all.
03:31So there's like a correct amount of time where you would have liked it.
03:36I'm kidding. No, that's not...
03:37Please don't do that.
03:38If you guys see me out in public, don't just go putting your hands in my pockets.
03:42No, I think it's...
03:43I think if you do it for a good amount of time, you might like it.
03:46What's the scariest thing I've ever seen?
03:47I do want to pick something because I feel like I've told you like...
03:49That's how you about...
03:51No, not yet.
03:52I did tell you about that one.
03:53Walker, you can lie.
03:56I know.
03:57I'm trying to think of...
03:58I'm trying to think of a good story that's not believable.
04:02My first time in LA.
04:03Do you know like the theater?
04:05Which?
04:06The Chinese theater.
04:07I was there.
04:08It was my dad.
04:09The first time I was over there, I was there at the Roosevelt.
04:10There was this man in a Spider-Man costume there.
04:13See, I believe that.
04:14We went into the Hard Rock Cafe.
04:16And he followed me into the bathroom.
04:19And he started...
04:20And I was like 10 years old.
04:21And he was like, you really want a picture with me, man.
04:23Like, you really want a picture with me.
04:25You really want a picture with me.
04:26We were in there and he was like begging to get a picture with me.
04:30I mean, maybe that I was going to pay...
04:33I don't know what the motivation was, but then I left.
04:36He followed a 10-year-old young boy into the bathroom.
04:39Are you okay, man?
04:40I was wearing a suit.
04:42Oh!
04:45I think there's parts of that story I believe.
04:48I don't believe the fact that he followed you into the bathroom.
04:51That's 100% true.
04:52Whoa!
04:53That's what happened when I was like 10 years old.
04:54I don't know why.
04:55I don't know why.
04:56And he was like...
04:57It was the Miles Morales one and it was at his waist and he was hanging down.
05:01Oh, dude.
05:02I'm so sorry.
05:03Yeah, I don't know why I keep choosing the weirdest...
05:05Are you okay, buddy?
05:06Can we move on?
05:07Yeah.
05:08Tell your best audition story.
05:09This was like when I first started acting.
05:11I don't remember the drive there and I don't remember the drive back.
05:14All I remember is being in that like...
05:17It was just a weird...
05:18It was like a weird black...
05:19It wasn't quite a black box, but it felt like an interrogation.
05:22You know what I mean?
05:23It's like if this room was dark.
05:25And the guy, he was some like really famous Bollywood actor.
05:31I remember my mom was telling me about him.
05:33I can't remember...
05:34Can you stop lying?
05:35I can't remember...
05:36This is a fully true story.
05:37No, you can't just say that now.
05:39No, it is a true story.
05:40Is it true?
05:41It is a true story.
05:42I win that point.
05:43You gotta finish the story.
05:44I gotta finish the story.
05:45I can't remember what the audition was.
05:46He kept asking me if I could do stuff.
05:47It was like super famous Bollywood actor.
05:49And my mom was sitting in the audition room because she was like such a huge fan of this guy.
05:53Like what could you do?
05:54Well, I could do a lot of stuff, but I just got nervous and told him I couldn't.
05:57He was like, can you sing?
05:58And I was like, no.
05:59And he's like, can you dance?
06:01And I was like, maybe if there's music.
06:03And he's like, what song do you want me to play?
06:04And I was like, I don't want you to play anything.
06:07And I just kept getting nervous.
06:09This is totally true.
06:10Yeah.
06:11And then we left the audition and my mom screamed at me because she was so mad that I just kept bombing it.
06:17She was like, why would you tell me you can't?
06:20You can sing.
06:21You can dance if there's...
06:22Like, why would you do that?
06:24And I was like, I don't know.
06:26And then I just went home and like ate ice cream.
06:29Dude.
06:30I have a very vivid memory of this.
06:31I'm embarrassed to be your friend.
06:34Are we even friends?
06:35Talk about time where we had to act with an animal.
06:37My dog on The Atom Project, whose name was Maryland.
06:42Name in the show was Hawkins.
06:44Isn't that weird?
06:45Stranger things?
06:46Hawkins.
06:47Hawkins.
06:48It was Shawn Levy.
06:49Yeah.
06:50And I think that was a little like nod.
06:51We were filming outside.
06:52It was like the middle of the night.
06:53It was raining in Vancouver in the woods.
06:55And maybe not the middle of the night.
06:56Maybe not the middle of the night.
06:57Now I'm trying to recall The Atom Project.
06:58And we were like, you know when I'm running in the woods and I have the flashlight.
07:01And I'm like, I see that...
07:02Your dog's not there with you on that scene.
07:04Yep.
07:05I'm running.
07:06We do take.
07:07I'm running.
07:08And I'm supposed to be full spring.
07:09And then I'm like, Hawkins, come on.
07:10I'm going to like chase after me.
07:11One of the takes, I was running and I like abruptly stopped.
07:15Because I, you know, normally I would like, you know, run and then slow down.
07:18The dog would slow down next to me.
07:19I ran full sprint all the way to the other side.
07:21And then I stopped.
07:22And then the dog like full tackled me straight into the ground.
07:26I mean I was fine.
07:27But it was really funny for like 10 seconds then I had a couple scrapes in my hand.
07:31I do not remember there being a dog in that scene.
07:33Because after you find the flying saucer you just get right in with Ryan.
07:38This is embarrassing for me.
07:40What happens after that scene?
07:41You didn't even watch the movie that your friend was in?
07:43I watched Sheeper by the Dozen, dude.
07:45I watched...
07:46You know how much I care about you?
07:47I actually watched The Atom Project right before I did our chemistry read.
07:50Really?
07:51Yeah, I did.
07:52What happens right after that scene where you find the flying saucer?
07:55I don't find it.
07:56I just see that something happened and I run back to the shed and it's open.
07:59And then that's where I meet Ryan.
08:00No, you meet Ryan when he comes into your house.
08:03Because you guys both tell the dog to sit down.
08:05I feel like you're lying.
08:06True.
08:07No!
08:08You just don't remember the movie.
08:10Can I lie about like an opinion that I had?
08:13Like can I lie about some...
08:14It's a lie.
08:15It's a lie?
08:16A lie is a lie.
08:17A lie is a lie.
08:18A lie is a lie.
08:20What was the moment you fell in love with acting?
08:22When they put the money sign in Horace.
08:25And your brother doesn't.
08:27I could tell.
08:28What was for you, was it when they straightened your hair and looking through water?
08:31Can we pull up a picture of that?
08:32Can we cut to a picture of that?
08:33Let's not cut to a picture of that.
08:34Let's cut to a picture of that please.
08:35Let's cut to a picture of rolling in the deep.
08:37Let's cut to a little video clip of that.
08:39What was the moment you fell in love with acting?
08:41I've got a good story about this.
08:43I started acting basically through this like acting class.
08:46My parents, I was probably three at the time.
08:49I wasn't old enough to like go to school yet I think.
08:52And they were just looking for a way to get rid of me.
08:54And so they put me into acting classes.
08:56I know this story.
08:57You know this story.
08:58But not all of it could be true.
09:04Stop looking at me like that dude.
09:05Anyway, so this woman like scouts me for this class.
09:08I go and there was this guy there.
09:10And he was like a really like big tall guy.
09:12For his age at least.
09:13And we were all like playing around in the rehearsal space.
09:16Right?
09:17And there's like lamps set up.
09:18Like kind of like, I guess kind of like this boom stand.
09:21Or like kind of like this light stand.
09:23They're like just really basic box lights.
09:25You know what I mean?
09:26Yeah.
09:27Yeah.
09:28And one of them has like a screw sticking out of it.
09:30Like the screw that you used to like put the stands together.
09:32Like right at the bottom.
09:33And there's no way to say this without making it sound weird.
09:38The big tall guy was like kind of like play fighting with one of the girls.
09:44I think he was like flirting with her.
09:46So he was like pretending to tickle her.
09:49And then.
09:50What story are you telling?
09:52Okay.
09:53I guess.
09:54I guess.
09:55Okay.
09:56Just I don't know.
09:57You just need to let me go places with this.
09:58Okay?
09:59In the last five minutes I've let you go whatever place you want.
10:01This is where we end up.
10:02Let me finish.
10:03So me and the girl were already good friends right?
10:06And the guy was like kind of play fighting with her.
10:08And then she got the idea to play fight with me.
10:10And so she started tickling me and I was like no.
10:13Stop.
10:14And then.
10:15I like back.
10:17I keep backing up.
10:18And I run into the pole light.
10:20And that has a screw sticking out of it.
10:23And it wedges into my calf.
10:25And as I'm trying to get out it like.
10:28Pulls down.
10:29This is the moment you fell in love with acting.
10:31It just proves how much I love acting.
10:33And it like tore through my like calf skin.
10:37And like a little bit of the flesh.
10:39And I just dug it out and kept doing the rehearsals.
10:43It's a lie.
10:44It's a fully true story.
10:45No it's not.
10:46I swear to God.
10:47This is a fully true story.
10:48Whoa.
10:49Well there's not like a moment that I fell in love with acting.
10:52It was kind of just a cumulative understanding that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
10:57I guess the moment I wanted to take it seriously was when I watched Devil Wears Prada with my mom.
11:01And I was like wow these guys are really good at acting.
11:03Again true story.
11:04That's two points.
11:05That's two points.
11:06But write it down.
11:07You know this story.
11:09I watched it when I was a kid with my mom and I was like oh my god these guys are so good at acting.
11:13I want to be that good.
11:14And I started taking it more serious.
11:16But yeah.
11:17I haven't been taking it more serious.
11:21Nope.
11:22Why didn't you hear your favorite song for the first time?
11:27I need to think of what my favorite song is first.
11:31Oh.
11:32We were.
11:33You had just been casted.
11:36And my mom told me like you know.
11:41The one kid you auditioned with Arian had been casted.
11:44And I was like wow I need to search more stuff up about this guy.
11:48We can move on to the next question.
11:50And I opened my phone and I searched up Arian Samadri on YouTube.
11:55This account shows up and it was like Arian Samadri sings or something like that.
11:59I tapped on it and there was this video.
12:02I don't know what it was.
12:03There was a couple different singing videos.
12:05This one in particular caught my eye.
12:08I don't know.
12:09It was like fate.
12:10You could call it fate if you wanted to.
12:13And before I knew it I found myself tapping on the video and putting it in full screen.
12:19And I was sitting there.
12:21You know I turned on full blast and wanted to see what you had to say.
12:25All of a sudden this beautiful voice appears.
12:30I felt like I was brought into a different place.
12:33What was that place?
12:34I felt like I was maybe brought into a different universe.
12:39It felt like my blood stopped.
12:41My blood stopped and my heart stopped beating.
12:42That's called a heart attack dude.
12:43And it felt like I was just...
12:45You went into cardiac arrest.
12:46And then I heard this beautiful voice.
12:48There's a fire starting in my heart.
12:52It was your voice.
12:54It just...
12:55I...
12:56Man I don't even know how to explain it.
12:59It just attacked my heart in a way that I don't think will ever be attacked again.
13:03I'm gonna attack your heart.
13:04What do you think about that?
13:05No it's false.
13:06You suck.
13:07That was the worst thing ever.
13:08I'm kidding.
13:09It was pretty beautiful.
13:10Uh...
13:11Now I feel bad dude.
13:12No dude it's fine.
13:13It was false.
13:14It's not my favorite song.
13:15Just make fun of me as a child.
13:17Have you ever been caught sneaking something off of a set?
13:20Yes.
13:21Okay so it was...
13:22Ah!
13:23And you know that like sword I'm holding?
13:25It was like a one stint and I asked the producer.
13:27I was like, is there any way that I can...
13:30You know maybe have the sword?
13:31And she's like...
13:32You know I think...
13:33And she kind of like said yes without saying yes.
13:34And so when we wrapped, I took it into my trailer and I put it in my bag because I
13:51thought she said it was okay.
13:53And after we drove off, she...
13:56Not her but like the props master that I was working with had like called her and told
14:02her that it was missing.
14:03And then someone, like an AD or something, she told them to call me about it.
14:08And so I had a full conversation with this AD about how I needed to go back and give it
14:13back because I wasn't allowed to go away with it.
14:16Yeah it's a lie.
14:18I was gonna say no way.
14:20No way.
14:21They gave it to me.
14:22You wouldn't do that.
14:24You're too kind.
14:25I know.
14:26I would have asked for so much more permission first.
14:29What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you in public?
14:32When I lived in Colorado, I was in ski camp.
14:34Probably seven years old.
14:36So I know how to ski.
14:37Like I've been doing it for a while.
14:39My teacher, not a great guy, right?
14:42I didn't like him.
14:43I had done this with him a couple times and they switched him out occasionally.
14:47I was following him and he kept yelling at me because I'd stray too far behind.
14:50I'd like take some big turns.
14:52I don't like being in this little line constantly.
14:54So he yelled at me and I decided I'm just gonna ski by myself because I have a pass.
14:59I can get up the lift.
15:00If I just stop and then meet up with them at the end of the day at the lodge, I'm chilling.
15:04You know what I mean?
15:05So I stop.
15:06The next thing that happens is I go down.
15:09There's a bunch of tree trails in Aspen Mountain, right?
15:11I stop there and then I decide, you know what?
15:14Let me give myself a treat.
15:15Let me go down one of the tree trails.
15:18I go down the tree trail.
15:19This maybe 12 year old girl is going in front of me.
15:23You pick up speed when you're going around those corners pretty fast.
15:26And I like full scent straight into her back.
15:30And I took us both out.
15:32We landed in the snow.
15:33And when you land in like deep snow, it's really hard to get out.
15:36So I kind of like I'm laying there for a second and I just hear like these like horrible screams like help like from her.
15:42She's freaking out like it gets really scary.
15:45It's really heavy snow.
15:46First thing I thought was this was kind of the end of her.
15:49I thought I ended this for her.
15:51You know what I mean?
15:52This was the end of her?
15:53This is the end of her.
15:54I'm laying there for a second.
15:57Like this is like probably 10 minutes have passed and I get up and I'm like putting my skis together and I'm just laying there kind of like, you know what I mean?
16:03There's not much you can do and I don't know what to do with this girl.
16:05So you're getting up and putting your skis together but also lying down.
16:08Yeah.
16:09I'm putting it together and I'm like sitting down.
16:10I'm waiting.
16:11The next thing that happens is my ski crew comes back down looking for me.
16:16This girl like starts blaming me that I took her out and then I was putting time out for the rest of the day.
16:21It is your fault.
16:22You did take her out.
16:23It was an accident.
16:24Oh.
16:25What do you guys think about this story?
16:27I'm really good.
16:29I've seen him skiing.
16:30I'm really good.
16:31Not bad.
16:32What do you think?
16:33You think it's true?
16:34What do you think?
16:35False.
16:36What?
16:37I think it's true.
16:38You're sick.
16:39No!
16:40I mean that entire thing never happened.
16:43That was good.
16:44That was a good story.
16:45That was horrible.
16:46I felt like I felt it slipping every five seconds.
16:48Thoughts about how you feel you did?
16:49How do you feel about tying?
16:51What?
16:52We tied?
16:53We tied.
16:54What?
16:55Good game dude.
16:56It's a good game.
16:57We never get to do this.
16:58I feel pretty great about it.
16:59This is awesome.
17:00I want to do more games like this.
17:01We're just us versus each other.
17:02You know?
17:03Yeah.
17:04Look at this chemistry.
17:05To get to know you.
17:06Oh man.
17:08But my method the entire time was just tell you a true story but just stumble as much as I could.
17:13My method was just say true things and then I didn't do that for the last one and then it worked.
17:18Good game dude.
17:19Good game.
17:20Good game.
17:21This was really nice.
17:22This was actually so much fun.
17:23Thank you guys for setting this up.
