00:00so over here you can see that i have a table let me just turn this into a pivot table so for that
00:10as i select this i'm going to go to insert click on pivot table and ok and then this is what you
00:16have so let me just go ahead and add in all of these components right here just like this right
00:22here and this is the pivot table that i have so let me just go ahead and add in a reason right
00:28here salesperson a salesperson right here just like this you can go ahead and then change this
00:33out according to how you want right here you can even go ahead and add in date as filters right here
00:39and so forth but anyways let's say what i want to do is i want to go ahead and filter out the data
00:45right here easily in that case i can utilize something called slices so for that i just need
00:50to select one of the cell from the table and then here you can see that insert slicer is an option
00:57under pivot table analysis tab so click on it and then you can go ahead and choose what you want
01:02to slice the table with choose what you want to filter the content with so in my case i want let's
01:08say category right here just like this and i want to go ahead and filter it out with reason as well and
01:14i'm going to press ok so now i got category and reason filter as you can see right here so if i were to
01:20click on accessories then what happens is that it'll filter out the content by accessories and click on
01:26electronics then it'll filter it out by electronics right here so besides that i can also go ahead
01:32right here and let's say for example filter it out by east north south and west if i want to select
01:38both i can simply hold sift on my keyboard right here or hold uh let's say for example hold sift on
01:44my keyboard and select both as well and you can filter it out as buddies right here hold sift to
01:50select out multiple categories all together and you'll get all the data back just like that as well
01:56so that is how you can go ahead and use slices with pivot tables inside of microsoft excel so i hope
