04:17So when I was at home researching the trip, I found this thing called the human tower.

04:23I was just like, wow, that would be so cool because that's about leaning on each other,

04:33It's a really, really old tradition that we do here dating back all the way to the 18th century.

04:38It's all about community, you know, working together, teamwork to achieve this fantastic thing.

04:44I'll tell them that you guys really want to get involved and be hands-on and fully immerse yourself in their culture.

09:34I've faced a lot of like physical and like mental challenges in my life at a young age, in my 20s.
09:40I was badly burned with sulfuric acid.
09:42Somebody that I had begun to date and then rejected, arranged for someone to attack me.
09:48But I've really moved on.
09:50And it's really taught me that sometimes when you think everything's falling apart in your world,
09:55what it's actually doing is really like forming your character and building your resilience.

11:19are having a great time we don't often get the chance to socialize so this is a

12:00three of loose women's finest have swapped the studio for the sun-kissed
12:12Spanish Costa Brava where they're competing over who can put on the best day
12:17out it's Katie Piper's day today she's brought the girls to Platya Gran one of the
12:23most popular beaches in the Costa Brava and Katie has gone all out for the win
12:27trust me right turn around look over here ignore the screaming children and
12:32look over there at that boat that's where I'm taking you a posh boat yes it's not
12:38right hang on a minute there's got to be a catch Katie has hired a swanky
12:44catamaran to take the ladies to a neighboring bay when you've got to a
12:48certain stage of life you want a little bit of luxury you want it to feel a bit
12:53bougie I have a bit of a sort of gap in my 20s when I was primarily a hospital so I
12:58just didn't holiday for years at all so yeah I really look forward to my
13:02holidays beautiful
13:06it's not just about winning the competition I want to give my friends a
13:09good day hunky crew so I think that adds a little bit of like nervous energy for
13:14me this is the life this is like I feel like I'm gonna turn around video all of a
13:19sudden you're under around your age are you gonna jump in at any point
13:25absolutely no jumper in a signature are you no but I think even if you don't
13:29want to jump in maybe you can like hang your legs off have a dip yeah free diving
13:35is it free diving oh yeah I'm not up for anything like that I've done like
13:38wild swimming no yeah and it was December when I did it no I it's very
13:43exhilarating it releases dopamine it can be good for like depression and
13:47anxiety like there is this thing of like oh my god if I done that I can do
13:51anything can I ask you something facey do your scars ever respond to sea
13:55waterfall the only thing is I'm not really supposed to go in like this I use
13:59that SPF you know I can't go in the Sun I try my hat and glasses but I don't
14:03remember that I've got scars I don't feel like conscious I do everything that
14:07I did before I'm in the skimpiest bikini well you've got the most fabulous body
14:11I've got an eyeful for me
14:23we're gonna have to get in the water I won't jump off this boat what are you
14:27scared of I'm scared of the deep water I cannot put my head under the water at any
14:33point so I am going to joyfully watch you push you whatever so you won't swim
14:38with your head above the water here I won't jump off this boat
14:45I've had so many times when I can't do things because of reasons out of my
14:51control where I have unexpected operations or like medical emergencies and I'm not
14:57allowed to even shower I'm in nice I mean oh it's actually now now it's actually really nice
15:04once your shoulders are under refreshing we're here now and I'm gonna jump in
15:08because like in a month's time something could go wrong with my eye and I'm not
15:12allowed to get it where I'm not allowed to be near any bacterias anything like that
15:16if I ever get presented with an opportunity to do something and I can I will do it go on girl
15:22I'm jealous now I'm just wondering shall I do it
15:38here we go Nana's coming in I'm gonna go as far as this step

15:54I've had so much fun like I don't know if I'm allowed to because I'm supposed to be hosting them
16:15I think the others did enjoy it because I think it was a nice mixture of a bit of relaxation and
16:20then they both got in the water I feel like today's been a real success I did work hard to pull all the
16:25stops out I did it that's it that's me done it's been like you know a bit of a feel-good dopamine hit
16:33can you please give me more praise for doing it thank you oh girls I did it oh my gosh that was just
16:42amazing I'm not a brilliant swimmer there's something really magical about lying in the sea and it was
16:48gorgeous really good start of the holiday it's just been really relaxing and I didn't in a million
16:55years think that I would venture into the sea so I am very proud of my little old self for doing that
17:00I've loved this activity Katie thank you Katie has started the activities with a bang this one is going to
17:18be hard to be hard to beat but I think I am good I feel like we could stay here all day though like see the
17:25sun's her I could definitely stay here all day
17:27it's day two of our loose women getaway and after Katie's strong start yesterday it's time for Denise to put her money where her mouth is and see if she can top it
17:43I hope that the girls will enjoy my day because all the activities mean something to me I am
17:50apparently competitive I think that's utter rubbish but would I like to win yes do I think I'll win yes
17:56how was yesterday the girl done good Katie did a good day but I want to do a better one so I've got
18:03some ideas horse riding wow okay I started when I was nine okay and from the moment I walked into the
18:12stable yard I was hooked and it's kind of a nostalgia thing about when I was little and things I used to
18:18do so that would be lovely to share that with the girls absolutely from where we are just now about 20
18:22minutes away there's a fantastic nature reserve and it's called Montenegre a lot of people come here
18:27specifically for mountain biking all that sort of thing but also very well known for its horse riding
18:32trails oh good yes do you do all the jumps and the tricks and everything like that yeah I don't know
18:36about tricks okay but I I can do a little bit of jumping you know so we definitely want to impress the
18:42girls in today of course absolutely I want to show off I am somebody that hates a surprise I need to
18:48know climate I need to know I can tell that about you yeah I need to know hair I know Denise is the
18:53opposite of that and she'll go whatever let's take our clothes off and actually don't say that
18:58I'm not ever wearing matching underwear today I'm really not up for that listen I'm a team player but
19:03not to that extent and then come to the um the evening the neat oot the neat oot the neat oot I would
19:11like an evening that incorporates a drag act or a drag show okay okay well listen I can make a few
19:18phone calls and get that all arranged 100% she's also I think the most competitive out of the three
19:24was between you and me I know you and me have got a kind of fighter spirit inside yeah I think Denzi
19:31really wants this what I want to get out of today is winning I'm only joking not really I think they're
19:40quite gung-ho unless they've got a real fear of horses and if they have that's fine I just don't
19:44want it but one of them ends up being better than me with the friendly part of friendly competition
19:50already out the window Denise is sneaking off to saddle up morning ladies today we're going to be
19:59doing something a bit different I've gone ahead but I've arranged a driver who will take you out into the
20:07beautiful countryside of Santa Susana it's becoming like a bit of a covert operation where I feel like
20:16all this secrecy she's actually low-key wanting to really win this a 40-minute drive south of Tossa Tomar
20:24is Santa Susana the gateway to park del Montenegro el corridor and a loose woman in stirrups come on god go on
20:36go on oh my goodness look there's horses oh don't say that she's a dark horse literally look let's go
20:48so let's do you do you ride oh she's brilliant so elegant last thing I expected I'm so scared of
21:02animals any animal yeah yeah for me this is a real rug pull because I didn't even consider animals on
21:09this whole trip because I'm not very good with animals I'm just a little bit scared of them I've
21:13never even considered you as a horse rider and now I see you it just suits you so much is it relaxing
21:19well it is for me it wouldn't be for you because you'd be terrified so we're not going to get to see
21:23you on one oh yeah I will try I mean do you not know I had to play a vet on television petrified of
21:29animals the minutes they sit they say action fine in a million years I just would not do this what
21:36would I be doing today on holiday probably scrolling through my phone
21:39feeling a little bit isolated and on my own all of a sudden like when I'm with the girls I feel
21:46like yeah I can do anything now I'm on my own with just a horse called flicker I don't know what to do
21:51I'm up I may not be getting down but I'm up hello she's flicker I love flicker and Sinatra right so
22:04just just put my foot in there okay just hold on to here I was really conscious that I hadn't done
22:21this before and I wanted to enjoy it but there was also like some natural instincts in me that
22:27like I don't do this I don't know how this feels I don't want to get on a breeze you can feel the
22:31horse breathing it's like you know it's a living animal shorten your reins even shorter the more
22:37control that's it but I feel like I'm pulling this no you know it doesn't matter that fine you've got
22:41you've got no you've got to control look every time I pull it he wants to go forward do you know
22:46something I'll go first and then yours will just naturally move you might not want the girl with
22:51you okay look he's following he's just following now you'll just follow because they know they're going
22:56back he knows you're the leader so he knows what to do

23:14it's just nice to get out of the town isn't it yeah this is very peaceful right
23:23there is something about being around horses
23:29they are just a calming influence I'm very open about my own mental health and about mental illness
23:37mine started as severe postnatal depression most women will make a full recovery sadly I didn't
23:46and it's funny because there's something healing about horses you don't have to be on them just around
23:52them do you know what's so funny then right like at work you're so honest about all your struggles and
23:58like depression and stuff and I feel like seeing you today on a horse I'm like this is Denise's
24:04therapy do you think it's your happy place I mean it wouldn't make me well if I was poorly but it would
24:09make me better as I was recovering yeah I gravitate towards them if I feel stressed or anxious yeah I feel
24:18like we're seeing a different side of you here that we wouldn't see at work and I feel at work like
24:24you do talk about riding a lot but it's just not this kind of rider how very dare you I have no idea what
24:30you're talking about how's Sinatra oh my god I mean I've never had this feeling of a horse
24:38between your thighs and having your legs open for this long as well wow it's a really weird feeling
24:45unless you spend most nights with your legs akimbo oh yeah you'll really feel it because I'll really
24:50feel it tomorrow please let it be over soon Denise is so impressive really she's a natural you can tell
24:58she feels so at home on a horse you can tell this is something she's grown up with and even Katie you
25:03know can tell you she's got ability she was she was in in a bit of a good zone as well whereas I was
25:09completely out of mind comfort zone I've loved um you two literally coming along and yeah into your
25:18world for the ride thanks for bringing some adventure into my week that I would never have

26:48Denise Welch is in charge today and for her final activity it's glad rags on for a night on the tomb
26:55from horse riding to drag is quite a leap a sangria thank you Dan I'll carry you home and I know the
27:08kind of girls that they are that they'd be really up for a lap but drag has another layer a nod to my
27:15dad vin my dad that we lost in 2021 loved drag and eventually started rising up the ranks of the
27:25amateur circuit I had a dad that pretty much enjoyed every night he just loved people he loved all of my
27:33friends he loved my gay friends he loved the LGBTQ community and he loved drag this type of night my dad lived for him and mom went to a party in fancy dress and dad wore this mini dress
27:48blonde hair headband and mom did his makeup and Raquel would appear and being dad he got up by the piano and he did a few gags so people started to go then would you come to our party as Raquel
28:04girl how did your mom feel my mom loved it she'd she'd do the old eye roll you know with her gin and bitter lemon oh here he is but if he didn't do it she'd be the one going are you not gonna go and put your stuff on I just wanted you guys to
28:21certain confidence to be able to get up and do that your dad must have passed that on to you which is why
28:26you're so good at being okay yeah I am terrified of audience participation so are we gonna have to get up the front please don't let that be the end of this day because it's the end of our friendship if it is I'm telling you about that
28:38tonight we have got a wonderful drag show but I need some new drag daughters I'm just wondering where I'm going to find three

38:00three loose women favorites are on their holidays in the Costa Brava competing to be crowned the greatest escapers
38:07it's day three of the competition and after a morning of hanging around doing aerial yoga
38:16honestly then i'm not joking you did really well thank you dear
38:20sinetra's brought the ladies to the rural village of fontetta a 50-minute drive up the coast from Tossa de Mar
38:27oh sinetra this is pretty look it looks a bit like a french like vineyard
38:36i think you'll be pleasantly surprised
38:43well there's herbs there's vegetables
38:45yeah walking through here it's so clean and it's so fresh
38:48the second half of my day which i'm very excited about
38:51it's all about like yummy food that you wouldn't ever find if you didn't know about it
38:57wow i feel like sinetra's brought us to an oasis of calm
39:01and i instantly unclenched my jaw dropped my shoulders this is stunning
39:05local chef yolanda bustos will be cooking them a special meal
39:11and let's just say the food's a bit more niche than the itv canteen
39:16this wonderful garden it's uh well here in majeneros is a place that i grow my own flowers
39:22edible flowers and look at these roses that you can eat all the roses
39:28yes that's right edible roses but not the chocolate kind
39:32i am a little bit worried because they've both let it be known
39:36they don't like fancy food they don't like picky little bits of food
39:39they like a proper sandwich or a proper steak and i'm thinking

44:35if i won it would be a nice thing to go back to lucerne and be like hey guys you're looking at the winner here
44:41the word win suggests greatness so yeah you know who wouldn't want to actually win

44:48we're about to make our decision as to who has won

44:57first of all katie that catamaran gave us all the chance to get to know each other from scratch
45:02it was the first intro we had i learned so much about you that i didn't know about from before
45:08and you actually thought not just what you would enjoy what we would enjoy
45:13and then with you that horse riding it's like the version of you we get at work is your fun
45:18and maybe i saw a little bit more of a calmer quieter you even
45:23like imagine if i go back to loose and tell them about the quiet denise welsh
45:27they'll say how lucky you are
45:29yeah
45:30and then of course sinatra i didn't realize until this trip how into wellness and zen you are
45:36will i have a dahlia sandwich again probably not
45:40but the evening that you organized for us i mean that just blew me away
45:45and i'll be telling people about that forever i think
45:48but i think because of the horse riding i ended up choosing your day as the winner for me
45:54thank you thank you i was swayed by the beautiful evening activity
46:02but i'm going for katie it was because of the human tower the fact that you took us there
46:08and gave us an experience of something that was so spanish it just tipped it for me
46:14which leaves me with the most difficult you know decision one of your days i could do with everyone
46:21and enjoy every single day of the week and one of your activities i could only do with you two
46:27and so because of that i'm giving it to you denise
46:31oh congratulations thank you so much if there's anyone in the uk that i'm happy to lose to it's denise welsh
46:41winner winner chicken dinner and i'm not remotely competitive but yes
46:46what was important is what the girls said about me they bought into the fact that those days meant something to me
46:53and that was very very special ultimately the reason denise won is because i'd only do that day with denise and katie
47:00so i'm looking forward to us all being on the panel together because i know it'll have a little extra bond there
47:04we've been in bikinis we've been sweating in our dresses we've been chilling in the evenings
47:10and i suppose we've just let go and it's been a joy to get to know both of them better
47:15it's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice
47:28so
