00:00Девушки отдыхают.
00:30The Texans have reeled off five straight.
00:32They currently hold a playoff spot with four games to go, including today.
00:36Still have a legitimate shot at the division.
00:38But, Mark, throughout the constant, the backbone, the common denominator has been the defense.
00:43What stands out to you about this outstanding defense?
00:46Have you ever seen the movie Dodgeball?
00:47I have.
00:48Right?
00:48When you look at Globo Gym, what was their motto?
00:52We're better than you.
00:53And we know it.
00:53And that's the Houston Texans.
00:55They try to bludgeon teams, and they've got superstars at all three levels between Hunter, Anderson, Shire.
01:02They've got Lasseter.
01:03They've got Stingley.
01:05Bunch of all pros playing this defense.
01:07They are so good.
01:08Well, for the Cardinals, no dodging that defense or their season.
01:12You can't sugarcoat it.
01:13They've lost five in a row.
01:14They lead the league in injured players.
01:16One of the bright spots, though, has been the play of backup quarterback, the veteran Jacoby Brissett.
01:21Despite the record, he's put up some good numbers.
01:23He's put up great numbers.
01:24A real big-time leader.
01:26And they've got the best tight end in football right now in Trey McBride.
01:30Look for them to target him often in this game.
01:34It's a tall order for the underdog Arizona Cardinals going up against a hot team and a suffocating defense in Texas.
01:42Kickoff coming your way on Fox and a few.
01:44It's brought to you by Nationwide.
01:50We start in Arizona with Trey McBride.
01:52The all-everything tight end leads the league in receptions.
01:56And then on the other side, it's Nico Collins.
01:58He's a big play waiting to happen.
02:00We've got the Texans.
02:02We've got the Cardinals.
02:03And it's coming up next.
02:06UxSports welcomes you to the following presentation of the National Football League.
02:14CJ Stroud continues to guide the Texans.
02:20Last week, over 200 yards through the air.
02:22A touchdown pass in the win at KC moments ago with Jen Hale.
02:27CJ, you get to go against the number one defense in the NFL every practice.
02:32What's it like to get to go to battle with them on game day?
02:34It has its challenges, but I think it makes us better as offense.
02:38And, you know, as the games go by, we're starting to get our rhythm and starting to roll.
02:41So we've got to just keep that going.
02:43You finally have some consistency on the offensive line the past couple weeks.
02:46How do you rev the offense today?
02:48We've got to just stay motivated, stay confident.
02:50You know, it's a good defense we're playing today.
02:52And, you know, just one play at a time.
02:53Go one in every play and see what happens at the end.
02:55Thanks, TJ.
02:56Good luck.
02:56Thank you.
02:57Guys.
02:58Appreciate him stopping by.
03:00D'Amico Ryans in his third season.
03:02Once, of course, played here.
03:04Called it his dream job to come back at head coach.
03:06He's done well.
03:07Also the third season for Jonathan Gannon.
03:10And it's been a tough one, as we mentioned, in the open with the number of injuries.
03:1421 players on injured reserve this season.
03:17That's the most of any team in the NFL.
03:20Arizona won the toss.
03:21They'd rather kick it off the start.
03:23They want the ball to start the second half.
03:26And here we go.
03:28Week 15, Jalen Knoll is back to receive the kick.
03:31And Chad Ryland, thanks for being with us for the NFL on Fox from Houston, Texas.
03:37Knoll, the rookie, across the 40-yard line and up across the 41 before going out of bounds.
03:44Great starting spot for this offense.
03:49We just heard from C.J. Stroud, who, if you look at his numbers and what he's done so far,
03:55he's protected the football very well.
03:57Missed those three games with a concussion, but back with two.
04:01And has been over 200 yards passing in the last eight games.
04:05I think that last week, you know, a lot of people would say,
04:07oh, he didn't play very well, 48.4% completion percentage.
04:12But I thought he managed the game exceptionally well.
04:14Kept this offense out of trouble and relied on that defense.
04:18Shows maturity.
04:2039-yard return.
04:21Woody Marks picks up a couple to start.
04:25It is kids' day here in Houston.
04:28Fourth straight game with the same offensive line.
04:31And they start rookies along with Woody Marks.
04:33Two different other rookies on this offensive unit.
04:37Yeah, and I think the big guy, the guy that makes the huge plays at the receiver position,
04:41Neko Collins, number 12, he is the one dude that you have to watch out for.
04:46He is an explosive play, 20-plus yards waiting to happen.
04:53Stroud, well-protected, and there's Neko Collins.
04:56And Neko Collins will fly it into the end zone.
05:00An opening drive, Texan touchdown.
05:04How about that?
05:0757 yards.
05:08Well, Neko Collins, he's just going to run the over across the field.
05:18And he's got outside leverage.
05:20And you're expecting some safety help here.
05:22You've got that outside.
05:24Tries to undercut it.
05:25Buda Baker there.
05:26Doesn't get to the receiver.
05:28And like I said, he's a big play waiting to happen.
05:32Neko Collins, touchdown.
05:34Man, that is the way you get things started if you're this Houston offense.
05:42On for the extra point, Amy Fairbairn.
05:49And up and through.
05:55Collins with his fifth touchdown catch of the season.
05:59And for C.J. Stroud, 13 touchdown passes.
06:03Bang, bang, bang.
06:04Just like that to get things going here in Houston.
06:09Fox is sponsored by Best Buy.
06:11Imagine that.
06:13And by Michelob Ultra Zero.
06:15Zero alcohol, just 29 calories.
06:1723rd career touchdown reception.
06:22And Neko Collins, let's add to that.
06:24Entering today was 10.
06:25Now he's got mark 11.
06:28Catches of 50 yards or more since 2023.
06:31That's the most in the NFL.
06:32Obviously, those yardage numbers increase as well.
06:36Yeah, he is.
06:37Like I said, he's a big play waiting to happen.
06:39And he's just one of those guys, man.
06:42Big-bodied guy.
06:43Can catch and make the difficult catches over the middle.
06:46But it's got that long speed that can just walk away from you
06:49when he gets the ball in his hands.
06:53Jalen Brooks on the return for Arizona.
06:57And Brooks the ball is in the air.
06:59And the Texas hammer.
07:00Out of the air.
07:01A special teams play from Dari Ogunbuwale.
07:07Wow.
07:07We said bang, bang, bang, bang, and a big hit.
07:20That was Hill on the big hit.
07:23Put his hat right.
07:2456 right here.
07:25That's Hill.
07:26Hat right on the football.
07:28Right through the returner, Brooks.
07:30And like you said, man, it's sometimes you create your own luck, right?
07:36Luck has the smell of perspiration.
07:38When you outwork the other team, good things are going to go your way.
07:42And that's the Houston Texans on special teams.
07:46Ogunbuwale has been a great special teams player.
07:48He's helped out in the run game.
07:50And Woody Marks will have a first down near the 10-yard line.
07:55And starts up front.
07:57What a great double team.
07:59Right guard, center, clear in the way, getting to that second level.
08:03And that's what you're trying to do right now.
08:05Watch this double team work itself right up to here.
08:09When you get to this level of execution,
08:12then you're going to get your back up to the safety.
08:15Then it's just a matter of breaking tackles and making plays.
08:18Blake Fisher, extra lineman in after an 11-yard pickup.
08:22Back to Marks.
08:24And this time, well played by the Arizona Cardinal defense.
08:29A defense, we mentioned the amount of injuries that they have gone through.
08:34And in the secondary, they're starting a couple of rookies on the corner spot.
08:38First, we have the veteran Buda Baker.
08:40Always plays his heart out no matter what's going on.
08:42Yeah, no question about it.
08:43Calais Campbell, number 93.
08:45This dude is on for real.
08:48I mean, you want to talk about, what is this, his 275th start of his career as a defensive lineman,
08:5418 seasons, and just continues to make plays.
08:58Leach, his football team, love watching him play.
09:01Stroud with all kinds of time.
09:03And he will lock that into the end zone away from everything.
09:11He had time to get rid of that wisely.
09:14A little bit of an adventure making a third and 10, a third and 12, excuse me, after a two-yard loss on the previous run play.
09:21Well, I love that about C.J. Stroud.
09:23And that's one of the things, going back to that previous play with Woody Marks,
09:28sometimes you have to understand that not every run is a smorgasbord.
09:32Sometimes you need to eat an appetizer.
09:34And when you bounce out there, the speed of this defense, you create a negative run.
09:39Can't have that.
09:40Got to put your nose in there and get yourself an ugly three to keep yourself out of these situations.
09:44Threatening blitz and time for Stroud.
09:46And he's trying to escape up the middle.
09:48He's brought down.
09:49It'll be fourth down.
09:50Good adjustment by the Arizona defense.
09:53And Zayvon Collins and Walter Nolan, the rookie, first-rounder, made the play.
09:59Yeah, this is one of those, just a three-man rush here.
10:02And it just feels like, you know, you're playing coverage, obviously, behind this three-man rush.
10:07They bring simulated pressure, so they do bring a fourth guy.
10:10That's Zayvon Collins off the outside.
10:12But, hey, it's just about maintaining that football.
10:15Don't turn that football over and know that your defense is that good,
10:18even though we haven't seen them to this point.
10:2130-yard field goal try for Keemi Fairbair.
10:25Despite missing a couple of games, super steady.
10:28Nails that.
10:29And it's a 10-0.
10:32First-quarter lead, two possessions, two scores.
10:35This one started with defense on special teams.
10:38Fumbles created.
10:40And then the field goal, 10-0, Texans.
10:45Iman Fox is sponsored by Macy's.
10:50Week 15, playoff picture of the AFC.
10:53All the eyes on Texas and Houston.
10:55They're in a divisional battle as well.
10:58Jacksonville, by the way, is already leading the Jets.
11:00But Houston needs to win at least one more game than Jacksonville.
11:03If the Texans win two more games than the Jags, they get the division outright.
11:07If they win one more, could trigger a tiebreaker.
11:10Scenarios would include things like a record against common opponents.
11:14We'll follow it closely.
11:15Another kick, another return.
11:17This time, Corey Kiner has trouble with the football.
11:20He has to bring it out.
11:22And he will get up to the 22-yard line where he is hammered.
11:26And here comes the Arizona offense that did not have an opportunity before.
11:32As these special teams are creating some trauma.
11:37Currently, the Houston Texans are just out-hammering and out-hitting everybody.
11:45Brissette turned 33 years old this week since week six, starting for Tyler Murray.
11:51He leads the NFL in passing yards.
11:54And he's defeated the Texans three times with three different teams.
11:58Five and one in his career against Houston.
12:01And he will lose yardage back inside the 20-yard line.
12:13That's Derek Stingley, Jr., coming from his corner spot.
12:18Paris Johnson, best lineman on the team, out with a knee injury.
12:21This line is really a mess.
12:22I mean, the backups are pushed into starting roles.
12:25They also have a backup at running back and receiver, etc., etc., etc.
12:28Yes, but they do have one dude that is a difference-maker right there.
12:32Trey McBride has been unbelievable, leading the league in receptions,
12:37leading the league from a yard standpoint at the tight end position.
12:40He is a problem.
12:43Brissette fires and incomplete for Michael Wilson,
12:47the team's leading receiver during this stretch.
12:50The defense, we mentioned, it's the best in the NFL.
12:52That's not just the stats.
12:54That's the eye test.
12:54They only give up 16 points a game.
12:57And there isn't anything that they don't do well.
12:59No, they're very simple, but they go after you.
13:01Will Anderson, Jr., he blew up that first play from the line of scrimmage.
13:06He is a difference-maker.
13:07But like I said, they have got difference-makers in every position.
13:13To me, big-time All-Pro players.
13:17Beatry, big game in the second there with that fantastic pick of Mahomes.
13:21Well, they knocked off the Chiefs at KC.
13:25Brissette will toss, and that's going nowhere fast.
13:30Di Mercado, as soon as he got the football, was nailed by Henry To'o To'o.
13:36Oh-oh.
13:37Well, watch him navigate traffic right here between he and the corner.
13:43They're trying to get this natural pick play.
13:45He navigates that traffic, puts his foot in the ground, and is at the point of contact just as the running back turns around.
13:53I mean, that's what this defense does so fast and so savvy about what you're trying to do to them.
13:59They read it, and they react, and they are bitches when they get to the point of attack.
14:05Matt Fox standing at his own goal line.
14:08Average with almost 51 yards of punt.
14:11Jalen Noe will watch that bounce out of bounds near the 45-yard line of the Texans.
14:18Strong defense putting Jacoby Brissette, and the Cardinals already in a rough spot, trailing 10-0.
14:27If the Cardinals don't have enough problems, that's Bam Knight, the running back, who carried an injured being carted off.
14:35That's why Di Mercado is actually in, and he's coming back after an ankle injury of three weeks ago.
14:42This is the hit on Bam Knight.
14:43Yeah, and it's just one thing after another, and it looks innocuous enough, but they have had nothing but bad luck.
14:55Jonathan Gannon, the head coach right there, this is the most injured team in football, and the hits just keep on coming.
15:02After a 34-yard punt, they start across midfield, and Stroud looking to throw, and we'll jump it off.
15:08That's Woody Marks, an excellent receiver, brought down around the 40-yard line.
15:14The amount of games that the Cardinals have missed, and this leads in all categories,
15:18250 games missed with 38 different players that have been lost to injury, so 76, there could be 78 different players used by the end of today.
15:29That's the most, and 21 players on injured reserve, and these are, if you're wondering why some of the stars aren't there,
15:36and of course, Kyler Murray on injured reserve, and hasn't been much of a factor for this team this year.
15:41Remember, they started 2-0 before tumbling, and he will get the first out, tough yards from Woody Marks.
15:49Let's get more on Bam Knight, then.
15:52Yeah, guys, it was not a pretty injury at all.
15:55He couldn't put any weight on that left ankle.
15:57He was hopping to the sideline and then writhing in pain.
16:00Technically, the Cardinals are calling it an ankle injury and saying he's questionable,
16:03but I can tell you he was in a great amount of pain when he was being carted to the locker room.
16:07Yeah, and we have two players.
16:08That's Cody Simon, who's wearing the green dot, the rookie linebacker on the Cardinal defense,
16:13and Woody Marks, who's been the star runner emerging during this five-game win streak of the Texans.
16:24Get comfy for the greatest Saturday doubleheader ever.
16:28Can the Eagles get it together?
16:29Will the commanders shock the world?
16:31Will the cheesesteaks get cold?
16:33Then, it's a Midwest rematch.
16:35The Bears check the cheeseheads check the Windy City on a perfect Saturday night.
16:42You can see your breath.
16:44Has there ever been a greater Saturday NFL doubleheader in history?
16:47I have no idea, but we're saying it.
16:49Super Saturday on Fox.
16:54So, Owen Papo will come in,
16:59and Akeem Davis-Gather will wear the green dot as Cody Simon exits,
17:02and Woody Marks is out.
17:05To Ward, Jordan, who just called up from the practice squad.
17:10First-year player from Louisville is the running back.
17:14Fake to him.
17:15Stroud will toss.
17:16And complete moving upfield as Dalton Schultz, just short of a first down.
17:20Well, you can see it.
17:24I mean, just running tough between the tackles.
17:27Love this, the physicality,
17:28but I think Davis-Gather kind of rolls up the ankle,
17:32and then you're going to see the hyperextension right there
17:35on the right side of your screen from Simon.
17:38So, I mean, those are the two injuries right there.
17:41Hopefully, those guys both able to walk off on their own power.
17:44Hopefully, they get back into this game.
17:47After a nine-yard pickup, it's back to Jordan,
17:51and he will not get the first down.
17:54He's got a game break.
17:55Say hi to Carissa Thompson.
17:56Hey, Carissa.
17:57Hello, Chris.
17:58So, the Eagles, as you know, trying to hang on to their lead in the NFC East.
18:01He snapped that three-game losing streak.
18:03Jalen Hurst to Dallas.
18:04Doddard gets the scoring going.
18:05Eagles up early 7-0 on the Raiders.
18:08All right, thank you.
18:10Good to hear you.
18:11We expected that from the Eagles.
18:12Looks like Woody Marks got his helmets on.
18:14Helmet on, wants to get back into the game
18:16as Jordan got his first NFL carry.
18:19They also have Ogumbawale, of course, active,
18:22but Nick Chubb is inactive today with a rib injury.
18:27On third and a yard, Stroud keeps it live for the first down.
18:34And Marks is coming back in at running back.
18:37Well, you saw, I mean, so many young players,
18:40so many different players for Arizona's defense,
18:44and you could tell they were getting a little bit of a struggle,
18:47even getting lined up, Chris, with so many new players.
18:50So, something to watch for when you have all these injuries,
18:53all these new players,
18:54just the communication between each and every one of your defensive players
18:59becomes a struggle.
19:04Stroud,
19:06takes,
19:08rolls,
19:08end zone throw for the tight end,
19:10shows,
19:11there's a flag,
19:12he has it,
19:14but he's out of bounds.
19:16We'll check that penalty.
19:17They rule him out of bounds.
19:22I don't know if this is,
19:23I think that's it.
19:24Pass interference,
19:25defense number 21.
19:28Marley plays the 20-yard line,
19:30first down,
19:31Houston.
19:31Nice play by Stroud to make that happen.
19:34Garrett Williams
19:34called for the penalty.
19:36Cleet Blakeman
19:37is our referee today.
19:39And once you get beat,
19:40you've got to at some point turn
19:42and look for the football.
19:44Never really gets that done.
19:46Definitely affects the ability of the receiver to catch the ball.
19:49And here we go,
19:51first and goal,
19:52thanks to Schultz down there in the end zone.
19:55And you're right,
19:55a great throw,
19:57you know,
19:57finding him late in that,
19:59in that movement scramble
20:01for the quarterback to get a ball down there
20:04that he can get that P.I. on.
20:06And Woody March,
20:07is shoved back by the Cardinal defense,
20:09showing some toughness and fight up front.
20:11Garrett Williams was,
20:12was part of that.
20:16And Davis Gaither as well.
20:17Well,
20:18they missed among the injuries,
20:19Mack Wilson Sr.
20:21They missed a lot in his leadership,
20:22his play.
20:23That's where Cody Simon filled in as a rookie.
20:25That was rough.
20:26And now Simon is out of the game.
20:28So,
20:28a lot of juggling and it continues for Arizona.
20:34Ogumbalwe comes in.
20:35And he gets the football and stops short.
20:43It'll be third and goal.
20:46Yeah,
20:46say what you want right here.
20:47You got a first and goal from the one yard line.
20:49And the Arizona Cardinals must defer in there,
20:53controlling a lot of scrimmage.
20:55I mean,
20:55showing some fight here,
20:56trying to hold them to a three-point try.
20:59Yeah,
20:59ball control for the Texans.
21:01But one area that they haven't been good on offense is the red zone.
21:04I hate getting caught up in that stat inside the 20,
21:06but they're 31st in the league when it comes to getting touchdowns.
21:10Of course,
21:10the big play to Nico Collins.
21:12They didn't have to worry about that.
21:13March back in with two tight ends.
21:16Ball snapped directly to Woody Morris.
21:18Into the end zone.
21:20What a sweet play for a touchdown Texas.
21:22Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
21:30It went right through the hands of the quarterback.
21:33Watch.
21:33It was supposed to be an inside zone.
21:35Goes right through the hands on the staff.
21:37Unbelievable.
21:38And Johnny on the spot.
21:40Marks scoops it off the ground like a second baseman.
21:44And then goes hurtling into the end zone.
21:47I'm telling you what.
21:48You want to talk about fortunate.
21:50Dude,
21:51and then he rolled the wave.
21:53He jumped into the end zone.
21:54Rode about three guys.
21:56Six yards deep into the end zone.
21:57He had almost,
21:58it almost looked like it was designed to play.
22:02Extra point.
22:04Is good.
22:06Man.
22:08When things are going right.
22:11They're going right.
22:12That's Woody Marks,
22:13the rookie.
22:14Injured a moment ago.
22:15Back in the game and into the end zone.
22:17On a wild play.
22:19That does deserve a wild.
22:23The finish by Woody Marks.
22:26Surfing his way.
22:27And when you're on a roll,
22:29you're on a roll.
22:30His sixth touchdown.
22:31As a rookie and notice since he's taken over as he's starting running back.
22:37They are five and only one five straight.
22:39How about this?
22:4017 points.
22:42The franchise record for most first quarters.
22:46Points that are scored in Texas history.
22:48Going all the way back to their first year.
22:502002.
22:51And they're not done yet.
22:56Andre the Kelly.
22:58On the return.
22:59Stopped short of a 29 yard one.
23:00Well, it was quick after a great kickoff return to start the game.
23:08Nico Collins on the pass from Stroud into the end zone.
23:12Special teams fumble.
23:15Ogumbo Wally the recovery.
23:16Fairbairn.
23:17The three-point.
23:19And then the touchdown by Woody Marks.
23:23After a pass interference on a play to Dalton Schultz.
23:26And 17-0.
23:30Texans going for their sixth straight win.
23:34Michael Carter is now the back since Knight went out injured.
23:37McBride comes in here with some outstanding numbers ranking first in perceptions actually tied with Buka Nakua.
24:02Of the Rams.
24:03He already has eight touchdowns this season.
24:05I mean, who's going to cover McBride or more like who won't?
24:08I know they use a variety of people.
24:10Yeah, they'll use everybody.
24:12Like every guy on this defense is going to get an opportunity to cover McBride.
24:16He is that good.
24:17I think he might be the best tight end in all of football.
24:20Michael Carter will pick up a first down.
24:28Banging into the secondary.
24:31Kalen bought back there.
24:34Well, one thing about this.
24:35Arizona Cardinals team, right?
24:37They're still on that opening script.
24:38So, you're still trying to figure out exactly what's going on.
24:41What the defense is playing.
24:42One thing about the Houston Texans.
24:44They're not going to try to trick you.
24:46They're going to line up in what they play.
24:48And they're just going to play it exceptionally well.
24:50So, your openers are still there for you.
24:53Nice first down right off the bat here by Arizona.
24:57That'll settle this offense down a bit.
24:59Corey Kiner comes in and running back.
25:01Fake to him.
25:02And Brissette has to get rid of it quickly.
25:04Tackled at the 45.
25:05As farrow Brown, one of the reserve tight ends, Henry Tolo, Tolo, making the tackle.
25:13Offensive coordinator through Petsing.
25:15Petsing is, you know, again, using that opening script, trying to find those voids in the zone that Houston likes to play.
25:23But the issue that you get into is they are so fast.
25:27So, you can throw it out there in the flat thinking you're going to get a big play.
25:30And the next thing you know, you've got one yard on a completion.
25:34And that's not going to get you down the football field.
25:38From the 45-yard line, Brissette passes.
25:42And that's Trey McBride, who's got a first down.
25:46And barreling his way inside the 40 of Houston.
25:53Just a little tight end screen, and McBride comes out there.
25:56Love this.
25:57The offensive line getting down there.
25:59And, hey, listen, one thing about McBride.
26:01Strong hands, but he becomes like a running back once he's in that open field.
26:06Great yards after catch.
26:07And this guy inspires his teammates even when things are going poorly for this offense.
26:13This is a guy that's just going to go out there and make big plays on a consistent basis.
26:18Picked up 16.
26:19And Carter with a strong run to the 31-yard line.
26:27Trey McBride, magnificent this season, entered.
26:30Tied for most catches with the great ram receiver Nakua dating back to last season.
26:35He's now had 15 straight games with five catchers or more.
26:38He's currently tied for the longest streak in the NFL by a tight end.
26:42Travis Kelce back in 2018.
26:44He has a chance to break that tie today and already with a couple of catches.
26:51And more importantly for the Cardinals, the offense moving behind the leadership of Brissette.
26:58He marked out of the back.
27:02Brissette in some trouble here.
27:03Has to get rid of that earlier than he wanted to.
27:05He's going for Amari.
27:08Pressure was on by To'o To'o.
27:10You've got to be very conservative here if you're the Arizona Cardinals.
27:14You've got three points.
27:16Trying to make sure this comes out.
27:17At least an attempt at three points right now.
27:19No negative plays.
27:21Can't afford to take a sack here on third down and short.
27:24It's manageable.
27:25You've got to come away with at least three points off this drive to settle this game down a little bit.
27:30Looks like a timeout was called before the snap by the Cardinals on third down two.
27:40And they got it in time.
27:42You can play the Fox Super 6 NFL Challenge.
27:45Download the Fox Sports app right now and enter for a free shot to win your share.
27:49$10,000 in cash prizes.
27:52See the Fox Sports app for details.
27:54Really smart timeout by Jacoby Brissett.
27:58Realized that they lined up in a legal formation right there.
28:01Going to try to do a little quick snap.
28:03Legal formation.
28:04Didn't have anybody over the left tackle.
28:07So really smart quarterback understood.
28:09They lined up wrong.
28:10And this is the problem playing so many new players is guys get confused.
28:15Guys don't understand the operation.
28:17Guys haven't had a lot of reps.
28:19And those are the kind of things that happen to you.
28:21You have to burn a timeout early in the game.
28:23But as a veteran, he has a grasp of that.
28:26Carter, can he get the first down?
28:28And he will.
28:30Michael Carter in his fourth year.
28:32Former Jet from College Ball at North Carolina.
28:37Again, this is a team that among the injuries, Trey Benson torn meniscus out.
28:42But before that, James Carter, who really is the heartbeat of this team,
28:45more than the starting quarterback with a season open.
28:48And he injured his foot back in week three.
28:50He started an apple edge of injuries for the Cardinals.
28:57And there is a great running back on pitch.
29:02Michael Carter, almost a face mask.
29:14Don't see a flag.
29:15Maybe it was.
29:16But he got inside the 25.
29:18About the 23-yard line of Houston.
29:20Man, I tell you.
29:22He's reminding the officials.
29:23Yeah.
29:24You know, that should be reviewable, in my opinion.
29:26That's a dangerous, and we all see it.
29:28And I know it's tough for the officials down there sometimes to see.
29:31That's how I told you.
29:32You think it was a face mask?
29:35I'm going to say, yeah, it was.
29:36But I tell you, Will Anderson, man, doing such a good job of controlling the edge.
29:41That nice cutback inside by Carter was because they are dominating the edge with these defensive ends.
29:48And McBride with a block in front.
29:50Trey McBride falls.
29:51It looks to be enough for the first down.
29:54Falling forward.
29:56See where they spot that.
29:57And he got it.
30:01Two catches away from that string we talked about.
30:05Five catches or more in a game.
30:09Well, they're going to let him basically dictate in this passing game.
30:16Off the edge, the wide check delays after you block, the screen passes, the seams.
30:22I'd really like to see Michael Wilson get himself involved.
30:25He's been on a tear the last four weeks.
30:31Time for percent fires.
30:34And a catch made tackle right away.
30:36It'll be a first and goal as McBride, already his fourth catch of the game,
30:40and three away from 100 catches this year.
30:45No McBride.
30:46I mean, there's nothing this guy can't do.
30:48He runs every route in the book.
30:49Just the over route almost gets, almost gets there.
30:54And Petrie trying to pass him off to the second level of the defenders.
30:58But just awesome.
31:00First quarter winding down.
31:03Cardinals threatening here.
31:06Trailing 17-0.
31:09And they'll take it to the other side of the field to try and get into the end zone.
31:14A fast start for the Houston Texans.
31:18Known for their defense, their offense.
31:21Top two.
31:21With Mark Schlereth, he's going to hail down on the field.
31:30Chris Meyer, it's extra being a part of the NFL on Fox, Houston, Texans.
31:35Houston, Texas, as the Texans have the 17-0 lead.
31:38And Jacoby Brissett trying to get his team in the end zone here.
31:43Just outside the two-yard line.
31:44Extra linemen, that's John Gaines in the backfield.
31:52And Brissett will throw.
31:54Gaines has it, but is tackled right away.
31:58Farrell Brown, excuse me, as Gaines had the pass rusher on Brissett.
32:03But the play did not fool Houston.
32:06No, it did not.
32:07And so now you sit down at second down and two.
32:11And I am not opposed to hand this ball off three straight times and saying,
32:16hey, listen, we're going to give you an opportunity, the Houston Texans defense,
32:20see if you can stop our running game behind our big offensive linemen.
32:23Yeah, maybe you go on fourth down.
32:25As Michael Carter gets the football here.
32:27Carter helps run him down there, but tackled right away.
32:30It'll be third and goal.
32:31And just how about this defense, the ability not only to stack the offensive line,
32:38meaning using those arms to just extend and get that offensive line stopped
32:44and then shedding those blocks and getting off and helping the linebackers
32:48as Alshire steps up and makes a big play.
32:50I'll tell you, they are so good at dominating the line of scrimmage.
32:55You'll see, they've got an opportunity here.
32:57Three tight ends are in.
32:58Probably going on fourth if they don't get it.
33:02Carter's the back.
33:04Where's McBride?
33:05Bottom of your screen.
33:07Brissette will have a moment.
33:09Throws.
33:09Touchdown!
33:10Trey McBride!
33:12His fifth catch of the game and all on this drive.
33:22Well, Trey McBride, it's what he does.
33:25And you're going to get man-to-man down here.
33:27There's Trey McBride.
33:28But they get no hands on Trey McBride.
33:32Zero.
33:33That's Clark.
33:34You can see it right there.
33:35Never gets his hands on the release by the tight end, run of the shallow,
33:41and the rest is history.
33:43That's a touchdown.
33:44Speaking of history, we set you up for a 16th straight game with five receptions or more.
33:50So that's the longest ever by a tight end as he eclipses Travis Kelsey.
33:57Chad Ryland with the extra point.
34:00And the Cardinals fight back on a good-looking drive against the number one defense in the NFL.
34:06All five catches on that drive.
34:11We mentioned an important drive as McBride, the workhorse, his fourth year out of Colorado State.
34:18He was a second-round draft pick.
34:21Won the Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end.
34:26Back in 2021, Cardinals spotted him.
34:29Went to the Pro Bowl for them.
34:31And even with all of the pieces and parts falling around him with injuries,
34:37he's been the steady force for this Cardinal offense.
34:42Jen.
34:45Chris, they just marked that ball for Trey McBride and literally put it under lock and key.
34:50Padlocked it for him for after the game.
34:52In a season where there just hasn't been a ton to celebrate, this is a team victory.
34:56Jacoby Brissett talked to us about how important it was to get Trey this record.
35:01Because he does all the dirty work and he never looks for accolades.
35:04It's always team first with Trey McBride.
35:06So, from Jonathan Gannon to Jacoby Brissett to members of the defense,
35:10everybody congratulating McBride on this achievement.
35:13His ninth touchdown this season.
35:14Remember last year he had a number of catches but couldn't find the end zone.
35:18This time, no problem.
35:19And that pass to Nico Collins is no problem for the Texans.
35:24Inside the 40 of Arizona.
35:26I love Nico Collins.
35:29He uses that big body.
35:30You're going to watch.
35:31I mean, there's, he's got outside leverage, inside player on him as well.
35:37Watch him body this up, get past that, call, I don't know, both guys bumping into each other.
35:42And then look at the finish.
35:44I mean, that's what happens when you're 6'4", 222.
35:48You're just bigger than everybody else in the power.
35:51I love watching him play this game, man.
35:54And there is a flag.
35:56On the previous play, we have an illegal formation.
35:58Offense number 57 did not report.
36:01And he was on the end of the line of scrimmage.
36:03It's a five-yard penalty.
36:05Replay first down.
36:08Wow.
36:09Going to take that off the board.
36:10So, Blake Fisher, who has been used as the extra lineman.
36:17Yeah, he's right here on the end of the line of scrimmage in their two-tied-in formation.
36:22And just doesn't report.
36:26And he didn't report.
36:27He's saying he reported.
36:28He's like, wait, wait, man, I did it.
36:30I did it.
36:30Called Dan Campbell and the Lions for clarification on that.
36:33But, Blake, you got to go grab the official and you got to say, hey, listen, dude, 57, you see me?
36:40I'm reporting eligible.
36:43Well, Nico Collins is closing in on another 1,000-yard season.
36:46That would have put him over the top.
36:48Instead, they go all the way back to the 30.
36:49The fans didn't like that.
36:52On first and 15 pass, he is caught.
36:57Xavier Hutchinson with a first down.
36:59One of three Iowa State receivers, two rookies in punch in his third year.
37:06Let's just run the slants.
37:08We're getting outside leverage.
37:09Anytime you get outside leverage, stick.
37:12Get back inside against the rookie corner.
37:14That's Johnson.
37:15And they are cutting him up in the middle of the football field right now.
37:19Slants, overs, you name it, in-cutting routes.
37:22They're getting it done.
37:23And these guys are getting open.
37:25Last eight games mentioned over 200 yards passing for Stroud.
37:29He's lighting it up today.
37:32Marks and Woody Marks will pick up nine.
37:37Carissa has another game break.
37:39I do, Chris.
37:39Letting you know that the Patriots up 7-0 already on the Bills.
37:43And Drake may, again, for his second touchdown of the first half,
37:47helping his cause in that MVP race.
37:48Hats up 14-0 on the Bills.
37:50Chris?
37:51Thank you.
37:52And a turnaround year for teams like, boy, New England.
37:56Certainly what Jacksonville is doing.
37:58By the way, the Jags 21-7 up on the Jets of the second quarter.
38:02As Texan fans watching that one closely.
38:06Appreciate the update.
38:07Straight ahead and get to the first down.
38:11Woody Marks hits side to 40.
38:18Jacksonville, three and one in the division.
38:20Texans four and one.
38:21Now, they don't play each other.
38:23Remember, they split head to head.
38:24Right now, the Texans are in the last wild card spot,
38:28but still have a shot at the division,
38:30but they're done facing the Jags head to head.
38:32I've got breaking news.
38:34They came back in jumble with Blake Fisher,
38:37and I saw him report.
38:38So we're going to be good on this one.
38:39Okay, glad you're watching.
38:40Yes, I am watching.
38:41That's your position.
38:42Here he is.
38:43Right there.
38:43Back to Marks and tackled from behind.
38:49Here comes a flag.
38:50He goes down at the 35, and there's Buda Baker.
38:53By the way, he was nominated for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.
38:57Holding.
38:58Offense number 79.
39:00Ten-yard penalty.
39:01Still first down.
39:06Ariante Ursary, the rookie first-rounder from Minnesota.
39:10Excuse me, second-rounder, was called for that penalty.
39:13He's been a pleasant surprise watching him play.
39:16He's just a big-body guy at 6'6", 330.
39:20Right here on the left side of your screen,
39:22you see him grab it right there on the shoulder pad,
39:26inside the frame, but I'm telling you, he moves well.
39:30He's actually played really well for them at that left tackle position.
39:34And 18, action!
39:37On first and 20, Jordan carries, and he's shoved backwards.
39:42All right, so the race for the division title in the AFC South.
39:47It's a three, well, three-car race we'll call it.
39:50You know, we have NASCAR on Fox, Indy 500, IndyCar on Fox.
39:54Texas started going 0-3.
39:56They were in neutral.
39:56Colts jumped out to a big lead.
39:58Houston has kicked it into overdrive.
40:00Fox, great wins, catching the Colts, trailing the Jags,
40:03as we showed you a moment ago by...
40:06This is a fair home run.
40:07I was going to put a car on there for Tennessee,
40:09and we didn't even put them up there.
40:11Well, they're going to be back in the garage,
40:12getting ready for next year.
40:13All right, that's what they're doing.
40:14With their driver, Cam Ward.
40:17And that pass is caught.
40:20Inside the 45, that's Diggins.
40:22Best record since week four.
40:28And we take a look.
40:29You just saw the Patriots on a roll again.
40:31Denver, the Texans.
40:32By the way, the Texans have beaten...
40:34I don't know they have the fourth most difficult schedule.
40:36They have already defeated at the top three AFC seeds from last year.
40:40The Chiefs, the Bills, the Ravens.
40:44That was last year.
40:45It's a whole new year.
40:47You're C.K. Stroud here, third down on long.
40:50Just secure a field goal attempt, right?
40:52You can throw it short of the sticks.
40:54Give yourself an opportunity to kick this field goal.
40:58He can keep it and get closer.
41:01And he glides out of bounds around the 37 or 38-yard line.
41:08And it seems like we're making excuses for the Cardinals.
41:11They've lost a lot of close games.
41:13We talked about the injuries, but they have had.
41:15You see how difficult their schedule.
41:17Combining the strength of schedule with opponents, the toughest this year.
41:23Titans on that board, the Giants, the toughest.
41:26But certainly the Texans not affected by the schedule.
41:29Not since they got rolling.
41:31This will be Amy Fairbairn from 55.
41:34Now in the pregame, he hit from 59.
41:37The kick is sailing through.
41:43It's good for 55.
41:47Like we said, C.J. Stroud being situationally aware, gets the scramble, gives them the opportunity.
41:54That was a three-point scramble by C.J. Stroud.
41:57Big-time play to give himself an opportunity to kick the field goals.
42:01CBS and Fox, followed by Sunday Night Football as the Vikings face the Cowboys on NBC.
42:08And Week 15 concludes with Monday Night Football as the Dolphins square up against the Steelers on ESPN.
42:13Then Week 16 kicks off with Thursday Night Football on Prime Video.
42:17Stream games live on your mobile device with NFL+.
42:20C.J. Stroud looking over things as the Texans build a 20-7 lead, just over nine minutes to go before halftime for Fairbairn.
42:33That was his sixth 50-plus-yard field goal this year, the 48th of his career.
42:41And that's the most in Houston Texan history.
42:44Remember, he was out.
42:46Weeks 10 and 11 had that quad injury.
42:48C.J. Stroud missing three games as well.
42:52The Texans kept up, took it.
43:10Jalen Brooks on the return.
43:13Reserve stopped short at the 30-yard line.
43:15Big East, Big Ten battle on Fox.
43:19College Hoops Friday.
43:20Villanova taking on Wisconsin.
43:22It tips off Friday night.
43:248 Eastern on Fox.
43:29Well, McBride the story for the Cardinal offense.
43:31Again, there are two, three deep at the running back position.
43:36Have already lost one of their running backs to start this game.
43:40And those are his numbers today, including his ninth touchdown grab this season.
43:44And the other tight end, Elijah Higgins, look at how well the Texan defense prior to this game have shut down two of the better tight ends, young at all.
44:11Yeah, yeah, I mean, they have been absolutely a shut down defense when it comes to the tight end position.
44:18But Trey McBride right now, like I said earlier in the broadcast, I think he's the best tight end in football, all things considered.
44:26And, man, he's having a start to this game so far.
44:29And to the corey guys are 35 before he was hit by Tamari Lassiter.
44:40Man, listen, we talk about crack replace corners, right?
44:43When they block the edge, your corner's got to come up and make some plays.
44:48Don't let just lose it.
44:49Take a listen.
44:50Come on, that dude is a great, I mean, not a good, but a great cover guy.
44:59And, uh, obviously ain't afraid to put his face on somebody either.
45:04Alert out, alert out!
45:05Third and three.
45:11Pass is missed.
45:13A little long, a little wide.
45:14Excuse me for Michael Wilson, who was open.
45:16And a punting unit will come out for Arizona.
45:22And had exactly what they wanted.
45:23They had access out on the edge.
45:26Lassiter's off.
45:27Michael Wilson and Michael Wilson's been on the tear here the last four weeks.
45:3139 catches, 481 as far as yards are concerned.
45:35But he has got nothing so far against this Texans defense.
45:42Jalen Knoll back to receive the punt to Matt Rock.
45:46Gets it away.
