00:12After Paltrow reportedly banned friends from talking to Vanity Fair for a new profile on the actress,

00:18the mag's editor-in-chief, Graydon Carter, told The Times of London that they would move forward with the piece anyway.

00:24He said, quote, some famous people believe that they live in a cone of celebrity that protects them.

00:30But it doesn't really exist anymore.

00:33So what exactly does Paltrow need to protect herself from?

00:36Well, according to the New York Post page 6,

00:39EnTV Fair is investigating an alleged affair between Paltrow and Miami billionaire Jeffrey Soffer back in 2008.

00:46Paltrow has been married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin since 2003,

00:50so you can see how that story wouldn't sit too well with her.

00:54So was her email to friends an attempt to keep her scandalous past hidden?

00:59Not according to the actress's rep, who responded to the claim by telling Page 6,

01:04Jeff is a longtime friend of Gwyneth, and there was no romantic relationship with him at all.

01:10Soffer, who recently married supermodel Elle McPherson, has yet to respond to Vanity Fair's claims.

01:16Meanwhile, Paltrow is getting ready to celebrate her 10th wedding anniversary with Martin in December.

01:21She opened up about her high-profile relationship in the June issue of Glamour UK, saying,

01:27It's hard being married.

01:28You go through great times.

01:30You go through terrible times.

01:31We're the same as any couple.

01:33Vanity Fair has not yet announced when the story will hit stands,
