00:00Cardi B opens up about racism, her favorite bra, and more in a new interview with Mariah Carey.
00:10Plus, Vanessa Bryant sends a message to Meek Mill over the lyrics leaked about Kobe.
00:17Hey guys, it's Ali for Hollywood Life with your music roundup, starting with Bobby Shmurda.
00:22TMZ reports that the rapper was released from New York's Clinton Correctional Facility just
00:27before 830 this morning, about 10 months earlier than expected. According to the site, Bobby will
00:33now be under parole supervision for the next five years until February 23rd, 2026. Moving on to
00:39Megan Thee Stallion, the rapper recently spoke with Maxine Waters, who opened up about her respect for
00:44Megan and Cardi's massive hit, WAP. Maxine said, now that is audacity, that is audacity, and that is the
00:52ability for women to take charge of what they want to say. But recall last week we told you about Meek
00:58Mill being slammed over the lyrics of a leaked song that referenced Kobe Bryant's death. Meek reacted to
01:04all the backlash with two cryptic tweets, one of which said, somebody promo a narrative and y'all
01:09follow it, y'all internet antics cannot stop me, shit like Zombieland or something. Well, Kobe's wife,
01:15Vanessa caught wind of the lyrics and had this to say, Dear Meek Mill, I find this line to be
01:22extremely insensitive and disrespectful, period. I'm not familiar with any of your music, but I
01:27believe you can do better than this. Vanessa continued, if you are a fan, fine. There's a
01:33better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact. But okay, let's switch
01:38gears to Cardi B now because she was recently interviewed by none other than Mariah Carey for
01:43Interview Magazine. For starters, they talk about loyalty and being a celebrity. Cardi told Carrie,
01:50I don't want to get too close to a celebrity and feel like we have a connection. And then out of
01:54nowhere, they do some funny shit and disappoint me. I've always had the same friends. I'm very loyal.
02:00From there, the two get into talking about their favorite bras, to which Cardi revealed she's not
02:04really into wearing them because she can't find one that shows off her cleavage while properly hiding
02:10her nipples. This led them to a conversation about celebs needing to have a squeaky clean image in the
02:16past. And Cardi was shocked to learn about the struggles that Mariah faced growing up in the
02:22spotlight. After that, Mariah opened up a discussion around the question of recording industry versus
02:28fashion industry. Which is more inherently racist? In response, Cardi said, I don't know if I would use
02:35the word racism because everything is so technical right now. I have felt prejudice. I've been involved
02:40in endorsement deals and then found out that certain white people got more money for their deals from
02:46the same company. I do my research. She continued, it's kind of insulting. And then when it comes to
02:52fashion, hip hop is a big influence. And yet black artists have the hardest time getting pulls from
02:58designers and the hardest time getting seats at their fashion shows and barely get endorsed by big
03:04fashion brands that we literally make trend. But all right, hit that sub like and bell button for all
03:10the latest on your favorite celebs. And don't forget to follow me on social media at Ali Stegnita. Bye guys.
