00:00Josh, the truth is never absolute, as we watch in this movie.
00:06Do you think that we live in an age where narratives matter more than facts?
00:13Hmm, interesting.
00:15Yeah, maybe. I mean, I think narratives matter more than facts.
00:21Yeah, I mean, I sort of think the sort of, what do we call it, the post-truth era.
00:28I feel like sometimes I think that that also is slightly skewed and dishonest
00:36because it's not necessarily, it's not about the sort of fact or narrative or post-truth or,
00:42you know, I think the point is that we live in a,
00:45it's almost like we live in a time of like post-listening.
00:48And I think for me, what I love about this movie is that at the heart of it,
00:56Judd is trying his best to listen to everyone.
01:00You know, what Ryan did so beautifully is,
01:03and works perfectly to introduce everyone in this community,
01:06is that Judd goes around and listens to every member of the congregation
01:10and tries to understand their perspective in life.
01:13And that's something we really, really miss is just kind of trying,
01:19trying as best we can to understand people and to listen.
01:24So, yeah.
01:25Well said.
01:25This movie alert us against the danger, the dangers of certainty.
01:32How important is it to promote a culture of doubt nowadays?
01:37That's a very good question.
01:40I mean, yeah, I think it's right now in a world, and I don't exempt myself.
01:45I think I'm as guilty of this as anything,
01:48just sitting in your own little silo of your phone getting angry at people you've never met.
01:54And I think the irony is, you know,
01:57there's plenty of stuff that we should be angry about in the world right now.
02:01The irony is all of us being so certain and so siloed in our own little screens
02:08is part of how people keep us feeling helpless,
02:12and people keep us feeling powerless,
02:14and how bad actors can, you know, can get into power.
02:20So I think it's a very good question.
02:23I think it's vital right now to question, especially yourself.
02:28The more certain you are about something, the more you should, you know,
02:32the more you should probably doubt it.
02:34Ryan has written these really special characters
02:37because they are so fully realized and three-dimensional and complex
02:41and firm in their beliefs,
02:43but we watch many of them transform,
02:46have these revelatory moments where they are willing to see
02:50that they may have been wrong about something.
02:53And that, in today's world, that feels like such a courageous act
02:56because so many of us are attached to our belief systems
02:59because we define ourselves by the things we believe.
03:02And to have the courage to be more open-minded and to be wrong
03:05so that we can engage with other people
03:08and be in community with a more open mind and a more open heart
03:12feels like something that the world really needs.
03:14So, I think it's very similar to the world.
03:20provider, Davidmidt, what?
03:21How do they know?
03:21And how do they know if you think you're there as an all?
03:22And I'm sure that the people
