00:00My first question is for you, Mr. Clooney. Maybe this is the role where you really beat yourself. On the beat screen, it's you or Jake Enley?
00:13Jake Enley. I'm not as sad a character. I have a great wife. I have great kids who actually still like me, strangely.
00:23So far, so good.
00:23So far. They're eight. They don't know yet. Once they get a little older, they might hate me.
00:28And I don't have the kind of regrets. I don't have the kind of... I have great friends in my life and that kind of thing.
00:35So it's a role, which, thank God, because what a miserable thing if it wasn't.
00:39Yes.
00:40In this movie, your characters sacrifice things for their work. What's the most important things you have lost because of success and work?
00:51I haven't lost much. I think very fortunate to get to do it.
00:58Credibility. I mean, you've got some of that.
01:00People, that's the moment I speak, all the credibility. You're just like, okay, we don't need to hear anymore.
01:08But I have... No, we're both very fortunate. We try to... We definitely get our families in.
01:16When you do, like every other job, when you work your ass off at something and you're trying to make it as good as possible,
01:24you do need time away from family at times. And it's painful.
01:32So we just try to jump back into it as...
01:34He's very good, though, at keeping his family close, which is a very hard thing to do in this business.
01:40So are you. So are you. Yes, we do that. And we had some good weekends.
01:42I'm good at keeping your family close.
01:44He loves... Yeah.
01:45Yeah.
01:46Shares a birthday with my daughter...
01:48I do.
01:48...and made the whole damn day about my daughter instead of himself, even though it was a big birthday.
01:53What were you turning to?
01:5464. Thanks. Thanks for that. Yes. Thanks for bringing that up.
01:57I'm a Beatles song now.
01:58Yes. And I will still... I'll still hold you.
02:02Is that what it says?
02:04So you still need me, I'll still feed you.
02:06Will you still feed me?
02:06Yes.
02:07This movie is also about celebrity. Celebrity also means taking a stand on current issues.
02:16In your point of view, what is the role of artists in defending democracy nowadays?
02:23I believe that artists, like any citizen, have the right to defend, to support, or to stand up for, or not, whatever they believe in, whatever they want to.
02:37Just because you have a larger megaphone than someone at the other end of the bar, and if you want to say something, you have every right to.
02:46I would forever defend people who say bad things about me. I will forever defend their right to say that about me.
02:52You know, I think that's the most important value we have, is the free will.
02:58That's good.
03:00And for you, Mr. Sandler?
03:01Oh, that was absolutely beautiful. I love it.
03:03I think I covered it pretty well.
03:04Thank you. You did.
03:05Thank you.
