00:00And the US wants Ukraine to withdraw from the Donbass and create a free economic zone.
00:07What do you make of this? It's a great idea. The question lies in
00:15how to technically ensure that that area will really be a free economic zone. A free economic
00:21zone means a zone where trade can go on and where economic activity can go on, where industrial
00:28parks can be opened up, where industries can thrive, not where there's constant shootings,
00:35where there are prison camps, torture centers, and so on and so forth, which is what Donbass has
00:43really become now. So in order for the economic zone to exist, they need someone who will come in,
00:51clean up the area from any military activity, and then ensure the security in that area.
00:59To be honest, I don't see how Russia is going to concede to that. They are probably going to
01:07insist that it will be their own military units or police units who are going to be ensuring the
01:14security in that free economic zone. But in reality, that will mean that there will be no possibility for
01:22Ukrainian commercial activity there, because it simply will be too dangerous for any Ukrainian
01:28parties to enter and to make any kind of commercial activities in that area.
01:34And I think there will be also a lot of skepticism from a lot of Ukrainian allies as well, who have
01:39shown great support to Ukraine, not just in words, but in action as well.
