00:15Why was it so important for you to tell their stories and tell the stories of the ones who can't and never did?
00:23You know, when I go into a project, I don't think of it generally.
00:27I think of it very specifically.
00:30And first of all, you think, is this a story that will feed my soul, that I have territory that I haven't explored before, you know, the emotional, psychological territory?
00:41And I just have to trust that if I find something intriguing and challenging, that there'll be people who will want to see it.
00:49And this story, the book, and the script were written over 14 years ago.
00:56And the fact that it came out when it did is just incredible.
