00:24According to the lawsuit obtained by CNN, Ronaldo invited the accuser and her friend to his penthouse suite after meeting them at a nightclub in Las Vegas.
00:34He's accused of exposing himself to Catherine when she went to the bathroom to change for the jacuzzi and requested oral sex from her.
00:41After declining his request, Catherine was then pulled into a bedroom where she claims Ronaldo attacked her.
00:47The lawsuit says Ronaldo apologized after the incident, allegedly telling Catherine that he was, quote, usually a gentleman.
00:53Ronaldo's team of, quote, fixers then allegedly went on to coerce Catherine into signing a settlement and an NDA.
01:01She says they paid her $375,000 to stay silent.
01:05Initially, Catherine refused to identify Ronaldo as her attacker, but when she finally did, weeks later, she was told by law enforcement and medical staff that she would be subjected to retaliation if she came out publicly with her claims and that her actions would be seen as extortion.
01:21This, combined with her psychological trauma from alleged assault, left Catherine unable to seek justice for years.
01:28But, okay, German publication Der Spiegel first reported the allegations in 2017, but they were quickly denied by Ronaldo's team.
01:36When the outlet broke the news again this year, Ronaldo's lawyer called the reporting blatantly illegal and a violation of Ronaldo's personal rights.
01:44Ronaldo also spoke his mind on the allegations in an Instagram Live, calling the claims, quote, fake news.
