00:00As six-year-old Dia Amanda prepares for a life-changing brain surgery on Tuesday,
00:11her parents say they are holding on to hope and unexpected kindness of strangers who have shown
00:17up for their little girl. Amanda will be admitted to University Malaya Medical Center on Monday
00:24with her operations set for Tuesday, a daunting prospect for her parents.
00:54She is able to accept the treatment of her parents, which is why I say that it is 50-50.
01:04We are in the mirror and at the same time, we also pray for the risks that are not
01:12concerned with the plan that the doctor wants to take care of.
01:16Yet, just days before the surgery, a visit from Suriana Welfare Society accompanied by a
01:23group of children brought a wave of joy reminding the family they are not alone.
01:28Her father said the visit reminded them that though they were drowning, there are still people
01:34holding their hands.
01:35We are not alone.
01:37We are not alone.
01:39So, we have a support system that we feel that the feeling is that we are in the air but
01:52there are still people who want to hold our hands together.
02:01We are entangled for you that we has interest to Amanda.
02:05We are some family for the children of Suriana Welfare.
02:06So, our relatives friends, our families and their children are good at the end of your life.
02:12We are blessed to have a generous strength, good and good each other they are on their life.
02:24It's the end of the world.
02:26How?
02:28When Amanda's story was first shared, it touched Malaysians nationwide.
02:33And within 48 hours, more than RM241,000 was raised,
02:38enough to secure the device that could calm the violent dystonic storms in her brain.
02:45With earlier donations, the total has reached RM301,197,
02:51a powerful show of compassion for a child many have never met.
02:55The visit by the children reminded Amanda's parents of the journey their family has endured
03:00since she was diagnosed with the rare GNA-01 disorder.
03:06Still, they remain grateful to Malaysians, to FMT, and to every welfare group that has stood by them,
03:12and hopeful that Amanda's journey will be eased.
03:15Narmatha Raja, FMT.
