With Highguard, the developers of Apex Legends and Titanfall unveiled a brand-new PvP raid shooter at The Game Awards 2025 that immediately attracted enormous attention.
The world premiere trailer showed for the first time how you, as so-called Wardens, ride, fight, and raid across a fantastic, mythical game world. These Wardens are arcane gunslingers who compete for control of a mystical continent in an intense multiplayer setting.
The central objective in Highguard is the Shieldbreaker, a powerful object that serves as the key to supremacy over the enemy faction.
Two Warden crews compete against each other, attempting to capture the Shieldbreaker and then break into the enemy base to destroy it completely. Highguard combines shooter gameplay, tactical co-op action, raiding mechanics, and dynamic combat in a way that clearly distinguishes it from classic arena shooters.
The trailer from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles shows fast-paced combat flow, magical-technological weapons, mounts for fast movement, and large-scale base raids reminiscent of Titanfall dynamics and Apex tempo, but taking a completely new direction.
You'll get a modern multiplayer shooter that combines PvP, team strategy, fantasy elements, and raid design, and is clearly designed to establish a new genre mix. Available for free as a free-to-play game starting in January 2026!
