43:43feel free to ignore my sob story and go straight to the bar
43:47but for those of you who don't know it here's the short version
43:52my parents were both junior hockey coaches
43:57and they were hit by a drunk driver when i was 12 years old mercifully for them they died instantly
44:04mercifully for me the saint thomas scholarships existed
44:12i didn't have anybody else to help me had a lot of memories a love of hockey and a huge hole in my
44:20heart saint thomas filled it with hope the hope of a new family things things weren't always easy
44:30you know they never are for anybody but in hockey i found what i was missing
44:38first at my high school then later a college and now here with the admirals
44:43and i never looked back because i i never had to
44:49the family i craved the family that i needed that that i still need today
44:53hockey gave it to me and saint thomas gave me hockey
45:02so from the bottom of my heart i want to thank you all for being here tonight
45:07and for supporting this cause because it's not just a scholarship it's
45:11it's everything that comes with it it's a whole world a whole life it's uh
