India Today Group Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Aroon Purie on Friday rang the closing bell at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) to mark the Group’s 50-year journey and said it was for the next chapter of India and the India Today Group.

00:30It's the same values which NSE adhers to.

00:35And today this coming together is a moment of purpose.

00:40Today's bell ringing is symbolic in many ways for us.

00:45At the NSE, a bell marks the trading day.

00:47For us, it marks the India Today group's journey

00:51from a magazine born in December 1975.

00:56From that very first edition,

00:58our mission was clear.

01:01To hold up a mirror to the nation,

01:04to pursue truth with courage,

01:07and to document India as it was,

01:10as it is, and as it aspires to be.

01:14Fifty years later,

01:15that mission has not endured,

01:18but it has thrived.
