The Malaysian government had submitted an extradition request for Tim Leissner of Goldman Sachs to the United States Government.

In an update regarding the 1 Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) proceedings, the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) said the request to enable Leissner’s trial in Malaysia was submitted on Aug 14, 2024.

00:13In an update on the 1MDB proceedings, the Attorney General's Chamber's AGC said the
00:19request was submitted on August 14, 2024, as part of ongoing efforts to bring individuals
00:26who have never appeared before the Malaysian justice system to account.
00:31The AGC said new information surfaced after Roger Ng returned to Malaysia in 2023 to assist
00:37investigators following his conviction in the US.
00:41It reiterated that Malaysia will not relent in its pursuit of full accountability and fair
00:46recovery from global financial institutions and individuals involved in the 1MDB crimes.
00:53The AGC added that Malaysia has supplied further information requested by US authorities to
00:59support the extradition effort.
