'Zombies' Taught Meg Donnelly the Difference Between Cheap and Luxury Wigs

Meg Donnelly puts her taste to the test in this episode of Expensive Taste Test. The 'Zombies' star takes a crack at telling the difference between everything from a Jellycat and its dupe to microphones to wigs. Somehow, singing Hallelujah and Phantom of the Opera was part of her skills. From fun behind-the-scenes memories from 'Zombies,' she also talks about how her time on The Masked Singer prepared her for her role on Broadway in Moulin Rouge. 05:53says the girl wore a wig her whole life.

05:54Says the girl who wore a wig her whole life.

05:56That became a whole thing.

05:57So now every time I hear wig, I'm like, wig, yeah, that's me.

06:01Wednesday, I'm an expert yet,

06:03but I've worn so many wigs in my life.

06:05So I feel like this one feels more natural, like hair.

06:10This one feels more like synthetic,

06:12but it looks really nice.

06:15The hairline's kind of like,

06:17well, there's obviously lace in there,

06:19but it's like a fake hairline.

06:20But this one just has lace.

06:22It's like almost like netting.

06:23Like it just kind of feels very like synthetic.

06:25The color feels more alien vibes for sure.

06:28But I feel like this hair is so much more natural.

07:47And just like the actual size of it is bigger than a normal jelly cat.

09:25The Masked Singer was so much fun.

09:28It gave me so much confidence performing and singing in front of a bunch of people.

09:33And it was really freeing because I was behind a mask and nobody knew who I was.

09:37And especially with Moulin Rouge, like every night I just am telling myself, I'm like just

09:41have fun, listen to everybody on stage, just like be in the moment.

09:45The mental game is the hardest part about this industry.

09:47And so the Masked Singer definitely helped me start that journey.

09:50If I was going to a masquerade ball, which one would I want?

09:54Let's see how it feels on the face.

09:58Oh, this feels nice.

10:03Felt great on the face.

10:04Maybe you want to sing Masquerade from Phantom.

10:06So I think that that means it's pretty comfy.

10:09Oh, this one feels kind of like, oh, that feels comfortable too.

10:13But the material on the inside is way more,

10:16like this one feels more, not plasticky, but it feels more like hard shelled.

10:21This one has just like more texture and more like grooves in it.

10:24There's just so much more detail on this.

10:28But, but I think there's way more like texture maybe is the right word.

10:39I really love this one with the feathers and the lace.

10:44And this one's really cool too.

10:45But I feel like if you go to New Orleans, this is like the standard one that you get.

10:50And this one's like way more like elegant and free.
