00:00Now it's to sit down with Erin and Ben Napier. Happy holidays, you two!
00:04There's a new season of Hometown coming in 2026. What is something you're hoping
00:08viewers take away from this upcoming season? This season was challenging. Really huge projects.
00:14I mean, the first two episodes are one house. It was so big,
00:18we had to get permission from HGTV to spread it across two episodes. So that alone is massive.
00:25The theme of this season is you can do hard things.
00:30Yes, we can do hard things, can't we?
00:33Yes! Let's do a lightning round, Napier edition.
00:37What is one easy way for people on a low budget to style their space?
00:40Okay, I'll tell you one thing. I have a beautiful, not beautiful, kind of boring,
00:45very comfortable, massive sofa that was my mom's. I had it reupholstered in like a beige
00:50oatmeal color, but I wrap it in a Suzani quilt that's super colorful without having to paint
00:59the room. You can just add color that way. What is something your parents did that you
01:03would grumble about that you now find yourself doing?
01:06Oh gosh.
01:07Everything?
01:08Literally everything.
01:09Literally everything?
01:10They were right.
01:11Don't roller skate in the house.
01:14I kind of want to plead the fifth here because I don't want to tell them.
01:18Yeah, I think I'm going to plead the fifth and just say everything.
01:21If you had to pick a word or mantra for 2025, what is it? And what word or mantra are you going
01:27to channel for 2026?
01:29The 2025 is when we did the doing.
01:32Yeah.
01:32That was the we can do our things year.
01:35We went to Scotland.
01:36Yes.
01:37That was a big fear for me, crossing the ocean.
01:40We started homeschooling.
01:41With children.
01:42We started homeschooling.
01:44Um, and we're doing it.
01:46That's what every time when we say it, when we say it, people are like,
01:49oh, did you hire a tutor?
01:50And we're like, no, we're the tutors.
01:53Life feels like it's moving so fast.
01:55What are some non-negotiables for your family that help you slow the time down?
01:59Is that even possible?
02:01Homeschooling is a, it's not a non-negotiable.
02:04It's what we're trying this year.
02:06But they are, they've never had devices.
02:10They've never held phones or tablets or iPads.
02:13Um, we're trying to live like it's our childhood again.
02:16We let them watch things on TV, all of us together as a family.
02:20We have movie night like every night.
02:21It's not like we don't have TV time.
02:23We're watching like the Berenstain Bears.
02:25We watched Prancer this week.
02:27So, um, living slower.
02:30Okay.
02:31To finish, we're going to put 10 seconds on the clock.
02:33Tell everyone why they should tune into hometown in the new year.
02:36Ready?
02:37Go.
02:37This season is going to have some returning customers.
02:41I'm going to cry my eyes out at one reveal.
02:43There are two personal projects, one of them very personal.
02:48This one's very different.
02:50We got a lot that are very different from anything we've done before.
02:52There you go.
