It’s about growing from the experience instead of getting everything perfect in life. In this video, Laura Dern and the cast of 'Jay Kelly' respond to what they would do if given a second chance at certain decisions in their lives.
00:04Laura, if you could go back and get one more take, like George is looking for, Jay Kelly's looking for, for any moment of your life, what would it be?
00:13Wow.
00:13Whoa.
00:14Guys, okay, take me to therapy.
00:18Wow.
00:21Well, I'd like more than another one.
00:23I'd like a lot of them.
00:24Almost every one.
00:26Yeah.
00:26Yeah, and I'd like Noah to be there to guide me because I would need direction because I might actually make the same choice I did when I felt like I'd screwed it up and I need another take.
00:40Yeah, I think life is, you know, reflecting on what we've missed and that's the beauty of this film and what you guys wrote and gifted us as actors is to consider that in our own lives and in the storytelling.
00:56So hopefully we are spending our lives asking those questions because we were never supposed to get it right.
01:03We were just supposed to learn and grow from it.
01:06That's what I tell my kids every day anyway.
01:08But then you do, you kind of need two more because once you ask for one more, then it's all on you to get it right.
01:14And then you start thinking, oh, shit, we shouldn't have done that.
01:17Don't you also think that it's like this thing where actors will look at it and go, I didn't feel this.
01:24And so it's not pure and I need to feel it.
01:27And the truth is, as a director, you could sit there and go, no, I felt it.
